What a fantastic place! We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at this beautiful historical Inn. The suite we were in had a large balcony overlooking the massive, well-kept lawn, and the water. Plus on those chilly days there is a fire table to warm up with. The room was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, comfortable and the shower is massive. Everything is done right! The breakfasts were superior and a delight to have every morning. We would highly recommend at stay at Captain Nickels Inn.

We stayed three nights at Captain Nichol’s Inn. As soon as we pulled up in the car we were overwhelmed by the building but wow then we went inside. It is a beautiful place to stay right on the waterfront. Dawn showed us around and explained the services and then showed us to our room. The property was well maintained. Our room was lovely, had beautiful sheets and lovely soft towels also, I know it sounds silly, but good quality tissues and toilet paper. You can walk down to the waterfront and watch the sunset and sit in the seating areas provided and have a drink. There is a Tea/Coffee station available 24hrs a day with some bottled water and cookies. In the morning we went down for breakfast, which was high-quality and presented very nicely. I would definitely recommend this if you want a beautiful hotel and good quality food and service.

Our stay at Captain Nickels Inn was delightful! We were greeted warmly at our check in, and shown the facilities and our room. The bed was really comfortable, and the ensuite bath was generous. We enjoyed drinks that we took down to the water to watch the day draw to a close. There were a couple of bottles of a delicious Barbera wine left. We purchased one and enjoyed it while sitting around the fire pit following our dinner in Belfast. Next morning, the breakfast was a truly special treat! Presentation was exquisite and the homemade foods were so good! I felt like I was at a Michelin restaurant! We would love to return!

My wife and I arrived afternoon of 9/26 as a stop over on the way to Bar Harbor. We received texts from the Inn to schedule our check-in. We were greeted by Dawn who gave brief tour of the Inn. In the back of the Inn is a bar which overlooks a quarter mile green way on the way to the bay. We purchased a bottle of prosecco and walked to the bay, sat in adirondack chairs and watched the sunset. Not bad. The Inn is 150 years old with an addition built in the 20's and is in good shape. Enjoyed the sound of the wood floors. Not much to do in Searsport but Belfast not far which has active shopping district with several restaurants. We received recommendations from the Inn which were well received. At the Inn, coffee, tea, snacks and water were available 24 hours a day. Breakfast was served from 7:30 until 9:00 a.m. I am an eggs, potato's and bacon kind of guy but the pumpkin french toast was fun. Rather than sit in the dining room (which also has worthwhile views) we were allowed a room to ourselves in the back bar area overlooking the grounds and the harbor.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Captain Nickels Inn and if anybody asks I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit. This is a 150 year old house that has been lovingly restored and I was totally charmed with our room. The shower was world class with lots of water pressure. Dawn, our host was so helpful and she serves very tasty breakfasts. Our room was closet to the highway but noise was not an issue. Gorgeous grounds right down to the waterfront. We loved sitting on the decks and just chilling but we had one minor quibble...our stay was not long enough.

I actually planned my Maine vacation around staying at this beautiful Inn after seeing photos of it online . The Inn is gorgeous inside and the grounds are immaculate. And the location is perfect for exploring Belfast, Camden, Rockland and all of the charming towns nearby. It was so nice to come back to the Inn after a busy day and relax in the adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean. And the breakfasts each morning were delicious!

Beautiful Inn. The Innkeeper Dawn was very welcoming. The grounds were gorgeous and breakfast was delicious. Sit in the Adirondack chairs and watch the sunset! Close to Belfast where lots of choices for dinner. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.

Our experience at the Captain Nickels Inn was exceptional in every way. From the moment we pulled into the inn's surrounding grounds when arriving, we were astonished at its gardens, expansive back lawn, and this historic and beautifully maintained home. Its Innkeeper, Dawn, could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Our room was immensely comfortable and was a joy to behold in terms of its period furnishings. Throughout the house, it is clear that details matter - such as ensuring that light fixtures, drapes, wall hangings, and the entire decor are in keeping with the period of the home itself. The morning breakfast was incredibly delicious and offered in a beautiful dining area. I appreciated that our Innkeeper accommodated my need for gluten-free meals - yet all the food tasted marvelous. We have already missed our time there, and we look forward to returning.

This was our 2nd stay at the Captain Nickels. This time we brought some friends. We stayed in the Willard the first visit, and this time we stayed in the Amos Suite and our friends stayed in the Captains Suite. All of the rooms are wonderful and the inkeeper, Dawn, has tremendous interior design skills and attention to detail. Breakfast each morning is wonderful. The grounds are meticulously cared for and the service and staff are wonderful. I can't say enough about this place, its perfect. Great restaurant 5 minutes away in Belfast and you are half way between Camden and Bar Harbor. We can't wait to come back.
