Wij hebben een nachtje geslapen in La Quinta de Sarapiqui van 8 op 9 feb. Leuk hotel, goede kamer, lekker gegeten. Basic maar prima. Wij besloten een avondwandeling te maken met een fantastische gids, Angel Jimenez. We hebben van alles gezien die avond. Dingen die we met onze ongeoefende ogen nooit gezien zouden hebben. Daarom de volgende ochtend nog een wandeling met hem en het was geweldig!

De locatie is prima, aardige medewerkers. Helaas komen er veel grote groepen waardoor je als individuele reiziger er wart bekaaid vanaf komt. Er is een mooie tuin met op 2 plekken een voederplek voor vogels. Ook is er een pad waar je 's avonds kikkers kan spotten. Onder leiding van gids Angel Jimenez hebben we een "nightwalk"en een "morningwalk" gedaan. Hij is zeer enthousiast en probeert zoveel mogelijk dieren te spotten voor je. Deze gids is echt een aanrader!

The grounds were beautifully maintained with plenty of wildlife. All staff members were friendly and the food was great in a buffet style. There were many nearby excursions like white water rafting, zip lining, and guided hikes. The best part of my stay was the onsite night hike guided by staff member Angel. The value of Angel's night hike was the best on our entire trip. The night hike lasted from 60-90 minutes. Angel knew where all the nocturnal animals were hiding and he even helped me take some outstanding photos on my cell phone.

Das Hotel ist im Grunde ganz schön, leider in die Jahre gekommen und für meinen Geschmack ein wenig zu viel Klimbim. Aber es hat eine gute Lage zum Tirimbina-Reservat. Es war dort sehr ruhig und sauber, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut, auch in der Auswahl. Schön war auch die kleine Terrasse am Zimmer und der Pool. Das Beste am Hotel war allerdings unser Guide Angel, der mit uns über mehr als 1 1/2 Stunden eine Nachtwanderung durch den kleinen zum Garten dazugehörigen Regenwald gemacht hat. Wir haben sehr viele Tiersichtungen gehabt und er hat uns bei der Fotografie geholfen, so dass wir sehr schöne Fotos bekamen. Der Walk war sehr informativ und der Preis von 15 US-Dollar pro Person war sehr gut. Alles in allem war es ein guter Aufenthalt dort.

Uno splendido lodge comodo da raggiungere, un po datato, si nota che 15/20 anni fa era veramente una favola. Ora molto è in disuso, però ha sempre il suo fascino, grazie al suo lago e l'ampia foresta da esplorare. Buona qualità del sonno, stanze non molto grandi però decisamente funzionali. Si mangia a buffet, però cibo buono, variato e persone simpatiche che cucinano e servono. Prezzo accessibile quindi sicuramente consigliato.

The owners built (or planted) a jungle where a cattle ranch had been making a heaven for animals. They have at least 3 cayman as "pets" in one of the ponds on the grounds. There are several walking trails. A great place to see birds as they put out food for them. The rooms are adequate, have air conditioning; hot water works just fine.

We loved it here! It was much more than we expected. There is so much to explore. We cant wait to come back.
