On our recent trip to Chile, our last city to experience was the capital, Santiago, and we stayed at the Hotel Diego de Almagro Santiago Centro, situated extremely centrally on Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins. The hotel is comfortable, our room on the 9th floor overlooking Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins was spacious, with 2 large beds. The hotel was well-maintained and the staff extremely helpful. Hotel Diego de Almagro Santiago Centro is an excellent choice for travellers visiting Santiago as it is walking distance form many of the major attractions, including the magnificent Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral and the adjoining square, La Moneda Presidential Palace, San Cristobal Hill, Santa Lucia Hill, Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Arts (Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino), Plaza de Armas, and San Francisco Church, amongst many other interesting cultural and historic attractions. Also, importantly, the hotel has a supermarket situated right next door for any essentials or snacks or food or drink one may be looking for. But what really created a special experience for us at the Hotel Diego de Almagro Santiago Centro, was LEO, the fine gentleman at the reception (Recepcion). Leo, with his trademark smile, welcomed us and made us feel at home from the word go. He gave us our room on the 9th floor with spectacular views of the city. He was our go to person for all information, and expertly guided us to local restaurants and eateries, making extra certain to give us safety trips as we walked or travelled around Santiago. He always had a smile for us, enquiring about our day, each time we arrived back at the hotel. I must also mention that his other team members were very courteous and helpful. The bonus of staying at the Hotel Diego de Almagro Santiago Centro, was that i got to jump into my first international marathon experience, as that Sunday morning there was a marathon event happening right on Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins !! We enjoyed our concluding stay in Chile all thanks to Hotel Diego de Almagro Santiago Centro and especially to Leo.

Let's start with the fact that I've been using Booking for many years, and I know that their policy regarding room photos means you get what you book, the pictures when you choose a room are not just ”sample” pictures. We ordered a large room with two bright windows, but got a room with one window that faced a wall. Arriving in the evening at the hotel, leaving in the morning for the flight. So, the first disappointment - a different room. Secondly, since we are just friends, we always choose a twin room, but since there wasn't any available, we settled for an “extra large double bed,” but the room had a regular double bed. The bathroom floor was filthy. The bathroom fan made a noise like a motorcycle. All of this was just the beginning of the upcoming tragedy. The shower - no hot water. Not even warm. First, we were told to wait for 20 minutes. Then we were asked to turn it off, wait again for 10 minutes. One of us was already wrapped in a towel, hoping for a shower. The other was trying to find a solution at the reception. The water was still freezing. The receptionist, although trying to help, was irritated and didn't hesitate to say that it wasn't his fault. Finally, he suggested taking a shower in another room. We grabbed our belongings and went there - a small room on the third floor, where we actually found the “extra large double bed”. Although there was no window and the room was much smaller, at that stage, the most important thing was the shower. We asked about the morning shower, and the receptionist said we could either come back in the morning or move to this room now. Although it was on the third floor and each of us had large baggage, we decided to move, especially since the bigger bed (which we ordered) allowed us to have a comfortable sleep separately. The receptionist offered help with baggage, but never helped. The reception looked rather offended. No one offered us even a cup of tea as an apology. As if the shower was just a whim of ours. Then breakfast was supposed to start at 8 am. We had to leave for the plane at 8:40, so we wanted to have breakfast at 8, being washed up and packed. We went downstairs at 8:05. There was no buffet or set tables. After 5 minutes, the lady brought us a glass of juice and a yogurt, without a spoon. After another 5 minutes (8:15), she brought us cutlery, tea, and toast bread. She asked if we wanted scrambled eggs, we said yes. She asked if we wanted ham with that, to which we said 'no ham' and 'vegetarian'. After another 5 minutes (8:20), the lady brought us scrambled eggs with ham in.. ketchup/jam tiny bowls. I told her I requested no ham, and she said there was no such possibility because they were making it all on one pan, and we had to either eat it with ham or not eat it at all…. 😊 I went to the reception to say that requesting plain scrambled eggs after waiting for 20 minutes was not a sophisticated request, and asked for scrambled eggs without anything. It turned out that it was possib

Katherine was so nice and accommodating as I arrived late at night but she met me no issues. Full time front desk and pool was nice. Please remember these are apartments so no shampoo, bodywash or toothbrush etc. towels were left on bed and the bed was super soft and amazing! This is the hotel I have stayed for the longest. Stayed for more than ten days. Front desk communication was not particularly ideal. Can change cash, breakfast is good. It is very close to the Weapons Square Museum, the subway station, the presidential palace. You can take a 7000 peso at the airport and you can sit there. Take a taxi. $ 30.

This is a very basic hotel in Santiago's rundown downtown quarters. Whereas the neighborhood has some strange quarters and uninteresting dining options, I never felt unsafe and thought the hotel had convenient access to the subway. It's also very easy to walk to major attractions (La Moneda, Musso de Arte Precolombiano, Plaza de Armas etc). Value was great (roughly half of what I would have paid elsewhere). I'd recommend it for a short stay.

The room was large, but our room leaked upstairs in the evening. Service was ok. Not much hot breakfast. No water to send. Not much hot breakfast. The location is general, you can live a little bit more in the center, because the road here is relatively wide, although there are only a few streets from the center, walking is still a little distance. Very close to the subway station.

Location is good near the tourist points of the center The rooms are good comfortable beds reasonable hot shower but very little water What is not very good is the service as well as any service in Chile !!! In the case of the hotel staff of the poorly educated restaurant the coffee starts at 7:15 and the trips are going out at least 6 a.m. and yet the hotel has not warned us that we could ask for a breakfast the coffee is of good quality but I would like to highlight the reception official Cincia she is completely different from other service careful guests helped me much when my cell phone was stolen in the metro even well that was she that was at the reception that day

Outstanding
GGuest UserNice hotel, good service, excellent price:product relation from the front desk (Venezuelan), room maid, breakfast and particularly and reason for this review: Tibor, the young enthusiastic, though experienced barman. The next pictures show the drink, but the great taste you must experience yourself! Ask him about: Smoked Old Fashion (1st series) and last (for today): Scottish Business!
GGuest UserI loved this hotel! The staff was really wonderful and accommodating. Juan was at the front desk each morning with a greeting of ”Good Morning Madame.” Nicolas was very helpful in arranging my stay prior to the visit, which was helpful. Every staff member was really friendly and accommodating. They served a small breakfast buffet in the main level each morning, even cooked eggs to order if you'd like. I went to this country traveling as a solo female. This was a nice location because it's walking distance to several restaurants and a lovely park. I felt completely safe in the area. My favorite was the Peruvian restaurant! I had this amazing seabass dish with scallops and calamari with a sauce on top. This was all on a bed of risotto. Chilian wine...fantastic! I wasn't familiar with this region's wine and was surprised at how good it was. My meal, paired with a lovely Chilian Sauvignon Blanc Reserve was so delicious that I went back and had the same thing the next night.
There is also a hill about a mile away that has the Christ statue, that is very walkable. There is a Japanese Garden on the hill. If you can't walk there, there is a funicular and the Uber car service worked just as it does in the US. One tip, if you're from the US or North, the maps will be backwards on Google. Just google directions to get them in the direction you're going. I got lost the first day until I did my Google search on how to fix.
The only problem I had was the language. Very few people speak English. I even went to a restaurant, fine dining at a park, quite lovely, but nobody spoke English and the menu was only in Spanish. To make matters worse, my phone died! Be prepared with how to use Google Translate, that will help, but if your phone dies, you're dead in the water. I found it very hard to communicate with people, which would not have been as bad had I not been traveling alone. I found it to be very isolating. I even took a tour with an English-speaking guide. I thought great, now I can chat with people, but NO! It was a guide who spoke Spanish, then translated to Portuguese, then English. I was the only English-speaking person on the bus. The museums, a few are only available in Spanish so no point going to those if you don't speak Spanish.
Other than the language barrier, I had a lovely time. My highlight was my hotel and the staff!
JJon BarfootThis was not our usual pick for Santiago but we had meetings nearby and took a chance. The suburb that Almasur resides in is a quirky and friendly neighbourhood with a charming plaza of restaurants, cafes and bars. There are a few private schools and colleges, the Main Street is cobbled and lined with Plane trees so it has an atmosphere rather like Paris! The hotel is brand new and perfect for business with large rooms. The cafe bar down stairs is great for working and meeting. I will be staying here again.
GGuest UserGood morning, first of all, I would like say good things about the Doubletree Hilton Vitacura, was a great hotel, good location and close to the Mall and good restaurants around. Me and my 2 sisters and my mother stayed from 28/05 until 04/06 in the hotel and we were very proud with the service, all the employees were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and affordable. Breakfast was the best part, which offered lots of options cold and hot buffet for everyone and specially for the waiter Leonardo and everyone else that gave us a good service and was very good. I would really love to thank everyone from the hotel Concierge, Breakfast Team, Housekeeping, Front Desk people and we had a wonderful time. I recommend this hotel and hope to see u guys next time.
GGuest UserWe flew into Santiago on an overnight flight and used booking to stay for our first night. Arrived at the airport and needed to WhatsApp the hotel to arrange for a complimentary ride. It’s 10 mins away and the shuttle was new and clean. We attempted to check in a little early @ noon, but we’re told if we wanted to check in before 3PM we would be charged an extra 1/2 day rate. We decided to wait. After having a coffee I spoke to the front desk @ 2PM and they agreed to check us in early (I assume it’s because the hotel was extremely quiet and they had ample space/rooms). The hotel is clean, but quite a ways off the beaten path. Not sure how safe the area is as the hotel is gated with a wire fence and looks desolate and a little prison-like. Also, the hotel seems newer, but the walls are super thin and a little noisy because of this. Breakfast was very good and Lorenzo was helpful at the front desk.
GGuest UserI want start by saying this hotel is beautiful and is worth visiting for the rooftop bar and the chic style. I quarantined here for 5 days in April. The rooms were clean and food was mostly good. The staff wasn’t very welcoming at first. I was exhausted and overwhelmed with everything that was going on with the pandemic. You would think they would be kind and try to get you into a room. I had a paid reservation here for at least 5 hours before I arrived. This was a last minute thing for every traveller that day. The staff member on duty waited about 3 hours to finally assign us a room. The excuse was that the reservation didn’t come through yet, which made no sense. I see people going through the same thing as us checked in already. I didn’t understand the concept of making a paying customer wait in the lobby for hours. He should have checked us right in and took care of it then, everyone would have been happy. At check out I gave my cc details once again and they handed me my deposit back. Later on that week everyday Im getting emails from the same staff member claiming it wasn’t paid. I had no idea what was going on. I also sent them a bank transfer after the fact since there cc machine wasn’t taking our credit cards. Which wasn’t our fault! They need to communicate better and accommodate guests better.
AAAYAThe best choice with perfect services. RQ Santa Magdalena Hotel was new and very comfortable hotel with so nice interior and exterior. It's so best location near of Mall Costanera Center and CBD. Very beautiful views. Also the hotel rooms with the kitchen, Including all kitchen equipments and accessories. Hotel's front desk was very kindly and warmly. My flight was in the morning early after my staying at the hotel. Front desk (Her name was Catalina) delivered my breakfast to my room previous day. Also she gave me very nice room with excellent views. The window was looking to the Sky Costanera Center, I'm so thankful for the hotel's front desk Catalina and her colleague who was a guy. I want to say them thank you so much again. See you soon in beautiful Santiago de Chile again 🇨🇱💕👍👍
ZZHENTAOThe environment is beautiful, the location is good, there is a large supermarket next to it, the rooms are comfortable and hygienic, and the morning is rich. Facilities are very user-friendly and the scenery outside the window is good. Good value for money, but also staying next time.
GGuest UserFirst vegan review. My wife and I are vegan and we were not expecting much. First day they had little cartons of almond milk but after that day they did not have any anymore. They have different fruits, strawberry, cantaloupe, no bananas, that's odd. and some not fresh fruit like pineapple in syrup. They also have coffee and tea. Oats that you can make with hot water from the nestle coffee maker hot water. Cereal like corn flakes and dry bread. Pool closed ”under maintenance” Bad things: Room key kept failing. Had to get it reprogrammed multiple times. Toilet does not flush well, had to do it multiple times. Soap bars are tiny and not very soapy. Might be the water but not sure. No free coffee in the room, just a hot water electric kettle Pros: Clean room. Good service. Across the street from a Starbucks, grocery store. Walking distance from bars/restaurants. Overall, a good option for a budget hotel.
CCUILIIn the upscale community, there are many good restaurants around, and there is a Chinese restaurant with street foods on the opposite side of the hotel. There are six recommended dishes, each of which is very good. Order a bottle of Chilean eighteen arhats, the price is similar to the supermarket. The design and decoration of the hotel is very artistic, and the first floor has sculptures and paintings for sale. The service is very good, the room is spacious, the breakfast choice is more, the welcome drink is available, and you can go to the terrace restaurant on the 9th floor. The companion said that the service is much better than the nearby Ritz Carlton service. I also borrowed a kettle from the front desk to boil hot water. The restaurant on the first floor is also very good and the price is reasonable. There is also a Japanese restaurant in the hotel. There are a shopping mall at three or four intersections.
