Good location and friendly, helpful staff but not a 4* room The room was like a cheap hotel and did not reflect the room rate at all. The bed had a cheap and hard mattress and the pillows were visibly lumpy and uncomfortable. The furniture was sparse and low quality with only one chair and very cheap bedside tables. Perhaps most disappointing were the plastic beakers to make tea in! The bathroom was nicely decorated but let down by not having any shampoo and conditioner or flannels. We’re not generally that fussy about these things but this was just too obviously poor quality. The main positive surprise was that the extras such as drinks at the bar and charging an electric car were reasonable value unlike many hotels.

Had a good nights stay in Hotel O Colmo as part of a group walking trip. Very quirky, with lots of old memorabilia around hotel. Our room was large and had 4 single beds for the 2 of us! Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi to use after a day walking, but both had quite cool water. Well stocked and priced bar (including a delicious banana beer, poncha and Madeira wine). We had a group dinner which was excellent, beautifully presented, and delicious. Good selection at breakfast but there was a very large group so felt crowded and rushed. Great location for the town and easy walk to see the traditional huts.
