Room was really spacious and clean. Location is fantastic. We had 3 adults in a room and it was plenty of room. Iron was available from reception Beds were comfy, sofa bed easy to pull out. Reason for 4 stars was reception man was a little rude when we arrived and asked me to provide evidence that it was for portofino and not the other hotel which I had and we found the hotel was booked with another name from our party. Not the end of the world. Also room only had 1 mirror which was in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a full length mirror somewhere and maybe a mirror in the bedroom. Pool was great too. Clean and we were able to get a sunbed. Not over crowded. I would definitely stay again. Our room - from our balcony we could see the beach so it was lovely in the morning. Supermarket and restaurants close by, really great location.

Lovely hotel/apartments, although rooms were basic, they were adequate, especially for the price we paid. Not too far from the centre, there is also shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Pool area nice and clean. We didn't use the restaurant facilities, so we can't comment. We have to to better places, bit we've also been to worse. But you get what you pay for and we would stay here again.

Hi I’m reviewing this hotel as unbiased as I can, as I didn’t choose to stay here, but was given this hotel as a replacement due to the hotel we booked in Santa ponsa and stayed at last year was cancelled due to refurbishment. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to couples but I would strongly recommend it for families who want to stay at Santa ponsa. and these are their target guests in my opinion. We stayed all inclusive and the food was very good. Lots of choices and variety over the week. Regarding drinks coffee very good, beer good, wine ok, spirits poor. Fruit juices not great at breakfast but section and quality of real fruit very good. The swimming pool and sunbathing area was excellent, which is very well designed with three distinct areas a very shallow area for toddlers with slides, a standing depth area with a water tube slide and 1.8m deep area for adults to swim. The dining and evening entertainment area was undercover outside with views of pool and stage. However the problem with this was if you ate later than 730 the kids entertainment had started, which could be a bit annoying dining to the crazy frog theme. However the kids were having a great time so that was nice to see. Our room was right above the stage which meant we couldn’t escape the crazy frog!!! The room was good and well equipped for self catering not that we did this. It had a single door which adjoined the neighbouring apartment which would have been ideal if you had a family and needed more room, however we didn’t and our neighbours three teenage girls staying next door who liked getting in about 3-4 in the morning so noise and light from the door could be a problem for many. The room was very clean as was all the public areas of hotel. All the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was located close to the beach and amenities, and the better side of the bay in my opinion, close to all the bus stops that can take you to palma or other resorts as well as airport. I would recommend updating the lighting in the dining area and entertainment area as this is very dark and the food serving and bar area very bright and utilitarian, this change would make the area feel far better imo. Overall a good holiday for the price.

The apartments are well appointed in Santa Ponsa just a short walk from the bay and restaurants. I was welcomed by the night manager who was very helpful. The apartment was clean and well equipped. I have no issues with the 'front of house' experience. But, I question the company's ability to rationalise a dispute fairly. I was there for 2 nights only, visiting for a special occasion. When I returned from eating after a long day I was locked out of my room and the night manager couldn't gain access with his pass key. He kindly arranged another room for me but all my belongings were locked in the other room. I was due to be picked up the following morning for a trip into Palma, but missed the opportunity as I had to stay to wait for my belongings. They had to break into the room to access my stuff. The company's view towards my compensation was that they gave me another room so that's all they were prepared to offer, well I should hope they did give me another room I'd paid for it. I can't be bothered to take this any further to be honest, but be mindful if you're staying here and you have medication in your room, for example.

Terrible Experience at Hotel Playas del Rey majorca– Avoid! My family and I stayed at Hotel Playas del Rey in Santa Ponsa from August 19th to 25th, and it was by far the worst hotel experience we've ever had. This hotel is completely rundown, dirty, and in desperate need of renovation. The room we stayed in was filthy—ceiling leaks, broken furniture, and dirty bathrooms were just the start. Pillows and blankets were in terrible condition, and we even found cockroaches in the room. The dust in the room was so bad that it triggered my daughter's asthma, leaving her unwell for the rest of our stay. Despite complaining to the manager, nothing was done to address these issues. On top of the room conditions, basic services were lacking. Towels for the swimming pool had to be paid for, which is ridiculous. The breakfast was included in our booking, but it was an absolute disaster. We had to walk to another road for breakfast, and once there, the selection was terrible. The place was dirty, with only one overwhelmed lady trying to serve everyone. The food options were practically non-existent. To make matters worse, I requested a late checkout and offered to pay for it. The rooms were empty, but the staff still refused, showing a complete lack of customer care. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The positive reviews and photos online are completely misleading. It’s shocking how poorly maintained this hotel is, and how little the staff seems to care about their guests' well-being. Avoid at all costs!

Booked a 2 night stay here with 14yr. We found the staff friendly, our apartment was clean, shower was great, air con in one room only, nice view from the balcony. Plenty of sunbeds (few need to be tighten up), pools are lovely, pool timings only till 6pm which would have be nice to have an extra hour as it is a sun trap. Pool bar 5.5euro for a beer, full English breakfast with a cuppa 8.5, food was lovely and served hot, staff helpful & polite. There is a great curiosity room & towels supplied. The steps down to the beach/shops is one to know about, however it is what it is. We would defo go back for a mini break.

We stayed here in August, myself my partner and our 2 children aged 12 and 8. The location of the hotel is perfect, a short walk downhill to the most gorgeous beach, plenty of lovely bars and restaurants nearby , 20 mins and a 50 euro taxi away from the airport. We stayed self catering so can’t comment on the all inclusive buffet. The snack bar food at the pool was all absolutely lovely though and fairly priced. The euro deposit for the glasses is beyond annoying, it feels as though the hotel is ran on skeleton staff at all times and this is why they do that. One entertainer, one receptionist, one chef, one , sometimes 2 members of bar staff. The rooms are very very basic , we chose a self catering apartment in the hopes of having a bit of living space but we didn’t have a lot of this really. It was fine for our 6 night stay but definitely couldn’t have stayed for much longer. The pool area is great! Can’t comment on the splash park or slides as my kids were too old for it but being able to play ball games and use inflatables in the pool was really appreciated. Again the daytime entertainment was a one man band. He would set volleyball nets up at the pool then that would be it. I fully sympathise he must be run off his feet doing the entire night and day programme alone but it showed. The evening entertainment was possibly the worst I’ve ever experienced. But again, for the price you pay this is what you get. My rating is based on the price, I wouldn’t have been happy paying any more than we did. And I would go back based purely on the location and the price. Restaurants I highly recommend in the local area - Harry’s (and mention that you are staying in the jutlandia and you get 20% off) Jaggy Thistle for breakfast, get the burrito! Baguette land for lunch to take to the beach, gorgeous and a bargain!
