On June 3, I contracted (and paid for) through Viajes El Corte Inglés, the stay at the Hotel D. Luís, in Coimbra, from August 16 to 18. Once we checked in and had accessed the room we checked the poor condition of it, mainly the bathroom. We complained at reception and they changed our room but the situation did not improve. The smell of the rooms was unpleasant, the carpet was dirty, the items were old and the maintenance was non-existent. It was so bad that we decided to leave the hotel and get a room at another hotel on our own. I contacted Viajes El Corte Inglés (via WhatsApp and email) informing them of the situation and sending them photographs and a video, asking them for a fair refund of the amount paid. So far we have not received a positive response. If Viajes El Corte Inglés offers and markets hotels, and does not verify the quality of the service offered, it should take responsibility and return the money for the inconvenience caused, in addition to removing that hotel from its website.
