The hotel itself is very clean on first impressions. Very light and airy also. The receptionist was lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome from the start. The elderly gentleman on reception was also nice and very helpful. The lifts up to the rooms are small but worked OK, no hiccups at all while we were there. We were on the second floor which has a bit of a strange lay out. We were in room 208 which also has room 207 attached for families if need be, a door separates the two and I'm not sure if the two rooms would share the bathroom or not. You open the outer door which says 208 which is on the right as you go in, bathroom on the left and 207 is straight ahead . The bathroom was small but adequate with a bath, loo, bidet and sink. The taps are old and slightly corroded and need a good clean as there was black mold around the tap heads. The shower head was also old and hadn't been moved in a long time so was stuck in one position and took a bit of persuasion to be adjusted. The bath is quite narrow but on a plus the water was hot all of the time. All in all OK. The bedroom was a good size with twin beds pushed together, they're very firm but I slept better than expected. Patio doors led out on to a balcony which overlooked the pool and garden area. Cleaning staff clean the rooms every day supposedly changing the towels every two days but I think our towels were actually only changed once in the week we were there. Downstairs in the bar area there are comfy chairs to sit on, then you go through to the dining room which is a fair size and very ornate. Food was fairly basic, not a great deal to choose from. The starter course was generally the better choice than the main because If you don't like eggs or pork you would struggle. Omelette of some description was on the menu most nights as was pork, all were accompanied by vegetables of the chefs choice which was usually potatoes and one other veg. Dessert was usually a piece of cake or a moose or fruit salad. Portions were quite small but in general enough for myself. I found it quite tasty but some others complained of it being bland. You also have to choose your evening meal at breakfast time. Dinner was 7pm - 8pm but they preferred you to be earlier rather than later. Unfortunately the waiting staff weren't quite so friendly, the female waitress was quite abrupt at times or just blatantly ignored you just putting the food down infront of you and the elderly gentleman never spoke at all. The younger man was the most pleasant of them all. The hotel is about a 15-20 minutes walk from Piazza Tasso with various route you can take but very busy with cars and mopeds speeding through.
