Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tulsa West - Sand Springs

We came to Tulsa for a family wedding and booked here. The front desk staff and housekeeping were extremely friendly. We like that they have full sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower. The room was extremely clean. While walking past an open door where they were cleaning out a room someone checked out of they were cleaning every inch of the inside of the refrigerator as well as the outside! Our only complaint was the food service person talked on her cell phone the entire time we were at breakfast and people had to keep asking for food to be refilled . The second morning, she stayed off the phone and the food was well stocked.

Upon our arrival, Meghan and Debbie made us feel very welcomed. Debbie went out of her way to provide a handicap room for our daughter. Big shout out to Debbie. Rooms were clean. Breakfast consisted of scramble eggs, sausage, a variety of juices to choose from, oatmeal, cereal - awesome breaksfast. Nothing bad to say about this hotel.

I’m not sure why it is acceptable at this location to check people into rooms that have missing curtains. At least the front desk tried to fix the situation but weren’t successful. We checked in on a Wednesday afternoon for a three-night stay. While I went to get dinner, my husband unpacked. As it got dark, I tried to close the curtains only to find that we had none. The sunscreen was there and both pull chains but no curtains. So I went to the front desk and was told that there were no other king bed rooms available but she could move us to a two queen bed room with a discount but didn’t mention how much. I said fine. So we packed up and moved down the hall to a south facing room with two queen beds. It was freezing in the room which I found was a result of not have a sunscreen in this room so the air conditioning was running “full blast”. There was a curtain that didn’t fully cover the window and no pull chains for either curtain setup. We didn’t report this because we could work around it by not being in the room during the day and keeping the partial curtain closed by using a hanger with clips on it to hold them together. I checked online and there is no room discount for us moving from the king to two queen beds room. Also, not a big thing for most but kind of important to me is that we were never acknowledged as Platinum Elite. Nor were we asked if we wanted Amenity Points or Water. I had to bring it up to the front desk. This was a very disappointing stay and we will not be staying here in the future.

We had booked weeks in advance. When we arrived after travelling for 20 hours, the girl at the desk advised that the room we had booked was not available. Finally after many minutes of discussion she went on her computer and found a room for us which we had booked to begin with. We wanted a room with 2 beds and she was trying to provide a room with 1 bed. This was a ‘friends’ trip and not a ‘couples’ trip. Room was clean. Then…when we went down for breakfast in the morning we found they had a good variety of breakfast but asked for a knife to cut the pancakes and the kitchen staff advised they had no knives? Anytime we were in the lobby the staff seemed to be on their cell phones. However, when we checked out a couple days later it was a new staff member who checked us out and she was ready and willing to acknowledge customers.

I had to visit Tulsa for business and a colleague recommended the Holiday Inn Express in Sand Springs. I received great service, and the location could not have been more convenient! My room overlooked a little man-made lake right across the hotel so I loved the view. I also recommend having dinner at Colton's Steakhouse, they are right next to the hotel and it took me a minute to walk there. I will be coming back and I strongly recommend this hotel!

I just want to commend Crystal and the entire staff at this hotel! The area experience a series of major storms which affected the electrical power supply for days. I brought a team of teen athletes to stay at the hotel to play in weekend tournament basketball games. prior to our arrival, Crystal contacted me numerous times to ensure that our room requests were honored (as much as was available). She and the cleaning staff worked feverishly to have our rooms ready, despite not having power for hours prior. All of the Reservations had to be entered MANUALLY, Yet they all treated us well and never made us feel as if the backlog of reservations and online reservation system issues would derail our plans. I wish more people in service-oriented fields could pivot and maintain the level of professionalism I witnessed by the Sand Springs Holiday Inn staff.. when you go to stay there, be sure to tell Crystal Team Evo says “Hi” and “Thank You!”

HUGE shout out to Krista the front desk agent. She was so awesome. She had a smile on her face everytime I seen her. She has a gift of talking to people. She made our stay an excellent one. The rooms were also nice and clean and spacious. Whatever your team is doing keep it up. We will be back.

After a long drive, we had a little difficulty at the front desk. The person added an additional $25 to our online reservations. I was too tired to argue and thought I would take it up the following morning. In the morning, the front desk person did not know what happened and would leave a note for the manager with our telephone number. She never called. I had confirmed our reservation the previous morning, and there was no room assigned to us. I am Hilton card holder. The room had floor tile loose, the television volume did not work so it was difficult to hear, the bathroom stayed hot, there was a walk-in shower, and the air condition was unable to keep the room cool, so it went on and off all night. On the up side, after two days of trying to talk with the manager, I was able to talk with her and she confirmed that a $25 incidental charge was added, but removed after we left. The pillows were wonderful. We are close to a number of restaurants. We are close to Aldi. The swimming pool is outside and was operational. Of course, the breakfast is excellent! They had warm cookies for our grand daughter at check in. Needless, to say the Holiday Inn Express had slipped a little in our previous excellent reviews.

CLOSED - NO LONGER AN IHG HOTEL - AVOID!!! Even with a confirmed HIEx reservation, they will not honor it. Your reservation will be cancelled with no warning and you will show up at midnight to no room, no staff, and no help. Try to call and talk to an actual IHG employee - there aren't any. Even IHG corporate can't get them to answer the phone. Hello Hampton Inn...
