Family hotel, convenient transportation, room is too small. There is no place to put a few boxes, the shower room is too small to be separated from wet and dry.

A pretty large resort, but with personal attention by the staff. Ground were well appointed. The rooms were very well appointed, beds comfortable, people serving us were pleasant. Would never hesitate to recommend the place. Can't wait to go back. My only complaints as follows - the one bartender at the Tequila Bar definitely wasn't into serving people with a smile. I asked him what beer he had available and he said ”some domestics and some imports”, turned and walked away. That was a turnoff. The other people who served us over the 3 nights were all fine, but not him. Also, we were on the 15th floor, yet surprisingly we could hear conversations down in the pool area, and especially the music playing. I found that as being a little odd. That is the only reason for dropping it down from 5 stars.

Located in downtown San Diego, half an hour's walk from the convention center. The hotel is of decent size. The breakfast is simple but sufficient, with bagels, sliced bread, muffin, pancake, eggs, susage, milk, coffee, yogurt, juice, bananas, etc. The front desk service is also good. If you can't book a conference hotel, this one is also an option.

Location was excellent for concert at Petco Park, took Uber and obviously was longer due to concert influx realized take a lime lite would have been faster. Walking expect 25-30 min and going up hill.
Service was good at check -in , first night found roaches 🪳 under and around fridge area! Went to lobby for possible accommodations , encountered male fair skin and colored eyes, said they were from the weather (🙄) didn’t seem surprised to hear there were roaches in our room, asked if we can switch rooms- he said they were fully booked and didn’t have anything available which I didn’t even see him check. At this point couldn’t find room to check out for the weekend and left as is. Told cleaning lady that evening and she shared a roach spray to spray in infected area. We didn’t not feel comfortable in this environment and left our snacks and food in bags and placed luggage on our beds and desk to avoid roaches from getting in. Additionally had requested towels and when asked for 4 same lobbyist said 4 was pushing it and only handing two towels even though I had booked two double Queen rooms for 8 people!!
Second room has stains on bed sheets and pillows, unsure what exactly it was but looked like blood. Friend got rash on arm and suspected bed bugs, checked sheets and luckily didn’t find any.
Bathroom sink had broken handle that came off when lifted.
Breakfast was good- early hours 7:30-8:30 , doors closed by 8:25 and you cannot take food out. But decent has French toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal and juices.
Parking was small but have additional parking below , just have to walk around the corner.

Location: you know how it is Location Location Location is always key, well this hostel is so close to ghetto, being on 14th Street, a sad conglomeration of homelessness and crime. I saw a worker having to go after a bystander that seemed to have been waiting for anyone to come out of the place, then a biker stole a displaced person's handbag (appeared to have passed out under the influence outside the premises). Staff: I liked Carlos and Ricky a lot, both were always very helpful, accommodating, so was the darker lady at the front desk and the cleaning attendant. I would have problems with my NZ phone to rebook and extend my stays, both would just take care of my reservation by phone and they would email me the confirmation. This happened twice as I extended my stay for a total of 3 weeks. Unfortunately when I tried to do the same through a new worker on the phone (I apologize to not know his name), he sternly asserted that Ricky and Carlos should not be taking reservations by phone. I politely tried to explain myself that I've always had problems with my phone, that I was a repeat or returning guest, and Ricky and Carlos were just being helpful. My mistake was I had asked him if he was the owner then I realized who he was, through the same voice that I would hear in the lobby getting upset over little things with other guests. As soon as I asked if he might have been the owner or manager (since he kept saying Ricky and Carlos were wrong to have helped me process my reservations to extend via phone and email), he hung up and then sent me the email, which I have attached here. Common areas: I wouldn't say they are the classiest and cleanest of hostels in town. If you want a real ”classy” hostel, unassuming without shoving the term in your face, GO TO HI HOSTEL (HOSTEL INTERNATIONAL), they are the cleanest, classy if one must say, organized, huge common areas that are not noisy (Stay Classy can very noisy), right in the middle of Gaslamp Quarter and non-profit. Bed: excellent concept of the separation of ”quarters” via heavy curtains, but tbh it got claustrophobic if you stay long enough in your lil space. It also felt like a morgue as you enter the passageway of the room with all these quarters.

AAnonymous UserThis is an old hotel with rich cultural background, all the staff are very friendly, the room service is timely and in place, the bedding and mattress are very comfortable, the breakfast is not to mention, the weekend menu will be replaced with the brunch menu. All the above advantages allow me to tolerate the only disadvantage of zero view from the window. Parking is valet, there is a cvs at the door, and there is a taco that ranks first in the United States within five minutes' walk, which is pretty good, but there is homeless on the roadside
GGuest UserGreat location next to Little Italy and nice staff. Spent 3 nights here and would have preferred a room on the opposite of side of the Construction Zone which was running 24 hours as it was noisy. Close to waterfront certainly an easy walk. No Restaurant which we were not made aware of prior to booking and we were also not made aware of the huge Construction project going right next door to the Hotel. Limited supplies in the room also if they were not going to make up the room daily, we were expected to ask for what we needed replaced. Also I specifically phoned the Hotel prior to booking to see if there was an Airport Shuttle prior to booking and was told yes there is by their Head Office, only to find that there was not one once we arrived at the airport which was very frustrating. All in all the location and the friendly staff were great but the Hotel is not worth the money they are charging, not sure we would stay ehrea gain.
GGuest UserIt used to be a Comfort Inn that we have always stayed at for over 10 years but now a Best Western. Very nice upgrades, great and friendly staff, love the location, A good place to stay. Close to downtown, Old Town, Zoo, and 5 minutes to the beach and shopping and golf just 5 minutes away also.
LLINI stayed for two nights and I was out every day. I did n’t enjoy the resort service, but I still paid the resort fee. When I drove by car, I parked in a few free parking spaces at the door. A lot. The outdoor pool is beautiful, but closed early
SStephanieWas very pleased with my stay here. Only complaint is the people above me stomping around and the people next to me slamming their door late at night and early in the morning. I would definitely stay at this place again. It was clean and very roomy. Walking distance from some good restaurants. Good sized tv with fast internet.
GGuest UserI had not such a real relaxing time.I had been put in a hall way where the noise of anything in this area that was or happen the go through was very loud and noises from all around me were heard, upstairs the people possibly on back of room people from side of me and even laundry.I had been woken up with real loud steeping and jumping from the second floor.Ive never experienced being caught in this from hotels I stay and it will be my last.I don't recommend you let the front people put you somewhere strange in the hotel ask for second floor.By the way I really stay on higher floors then second I don't know why I was fogged about the front desk person convincing me that the room was special.Oh I know because she said she upgraded me to a room with two beds, which I think I had already requested anyway I'll think twice about this place. But if I'm in dire straight I'll neen the second floor please.
GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the road, very noisy, the rooms are small, and the bathroom is smaller. The advantage is that the hotel has breakfast. When booking one day in advance on Ctrip, it is indicated that the two rooms next to the first floor are required. It was given to the second floor of the two, and that ’s it. It was also given to the second floor of the two that were not connected. This was a toss.
I have stayed at the hotel many times they totally redid the hotel probably 5 years ago the rooms were absolutely quiet and for some reason in the meantime they redid the rooms to make them appear smaller and the quality of the guests has lowered dramatically from a family-oriented environment into one that has become a party oriented environment in the past they had security guard the last two visits there has been no security guard that I have seen the rooms we stay in have decent beds air conditioning works I believe with no knowledge that the hotel was sold and the new management does not really care what happens that is my personal opinion just based on the environment we encountered
