Hotelbewertung: Farmhouse Resort Smiling Gecko, Kambodscha Wir hatten das Vergnügen, einige Tage im Farmhouse Resort Smiling Gecko in Kambodscha zu verbringen, und unser Aufenthalt war rundum beeindruckend. Die Anlage ist einfach traumhaft – weitläufige Gärten, gepflegte Wege und eine idyllische Atmosphäre, die Ruhe und Erholung verspricht. Das Essen war ein absolutes Highlight. Die kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten, die hier serviert werden, sind nicht nur geschmacklich hervorragend, sondern auch frisch und regional. Die Qualität und Vielfalt der Speisen haben uns jeden Tag aufs Neue begeistert. Die Bungalows sind sehr schön und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Allerdings sind sie etwas überdimensioniert, was zwar luxuriös, aber manchmal auch ein wenig übertrieben wirken kann. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Freundlichkeit und Servicequalität im Restaurant. Das Personal war stets zuvorkommend, herzlich und professionell. An der Rezeption könnte der Service jedoch noch verbessert werden, da wir hier ein wenig mehr Herzlichkeit und Effizienz erwartet hätten. Ein großes Plus war die Begegnung mit dem General Manager und seinem Assistenten. Beide haben sich viel Zeit genommen, um uns das gesamte Projekt Smiling Gecko näherzubringen. Es war inspirierend zu sehen, mit wie viel Leidenschaft und Hingabe hier gearbeitet wird. Der Aufenthalt im Farmhouse Resort ist insgesamt sehr teuer. Allerdings fließen die Einnahmen in das Projekt und die Schule, was diesen Preis zu einem sehr guten Investment macht. Man unterstützt hier nicht nur den eigenen Komfort, sondern auch einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Gemeinschaft und Bildung vor Ort. Wir sind tief beeindruckt von dem, was hier in nur zehn Jahren entstanden ist, und ziehen unseren Hut vor all denjenigen, die daran mitgewirkt haben – insbesondere vor den Gründern Hannes Schmid und Sokleap Ngon. Ihr Engagement und ihre Vision haben etwas wirklich Besonderes geschaffen, das weit über ein einfaches Resort hinausgeht. Fazit: Ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, das Luxus und soziales Engagement perfekt verbindet. Wir können einen Aufenthalt im Farmhouse Resort Smiling Gecko nur wärmstens empfehlen.

A really lovely resort but I believe it has lists its way as it does not emotive the Cambodian and people. The facilities were great but really as they advertised their self a “luxury resort” they need to thing of things from a customers perspective and not what they believe we want. Every other hotel we stayed in Cambodia they di things like provide bug replant out side so you would not get bit. They provide baskets for ladies to put bags in so they are not on the floor. A turn down service should be full including pulling blinds resetting beds, replenishing composites like coffee water etc just the detail needs concentrations on The team tried there best but I think they feel like they are not allowed to be friendly and Cambodian which is a real shame 😳 I get the ideas but think it may need some attention still for the price point and what they are trying to achieve
