Boutique Hotel Das Salz

Didn’t really have a good experience on this but thank god Trip did compensate a small fee. The room is good, the hotel is good BUT whoever that has booked please read this:- 1. Make sure they send you a pin code to enter the hotel at least 3 days before or else keep emailing and calling before you reach. There is no workers all automated if you reach and have no code to enter you are stranded! Yes there is a phone to call but Im not sure why the phone doesn’t work properly!! I called 7 times only to 1 time they pick up. And finally after waiting in the cold for 30 mins they let me know the pin code to enter. Its very hard to contact the hotel maybe because im not using local phone number. Contacted trip and they themselves couldn’t contact them in time. According to the hotel, there should be an email from them with instructions and code. 2. Yes, I do love the concept of having no one to check in but at least leave like an ipad or a screen for guest to check and contact??? 3. Rooms were nice, blinds were automatic. Clean and have smart tv. They do have elevators thank god. Besides the ‘PIN number’ enter check in, its all good.

I recently stayed for 2 nights in May. The payment was fully made in January. They kept my bank details from the January payment and made an unauthorised payment of 84 euro when I checked in. I called to flag this on the check-out day and was told that it would be rectified. I then got an email afterwards saying that I was refunded of the wrong payment taken in May back in January ( how can you refund in the past a wrong payment you made in the future??). I have replied and asked them to urgently resolve the matter of stealing my money. They have not bothered replying. I'm now going to see how to contact the police from abroad. I can see in another review that is is run by part-time students. It may be that rather than just be planned fraud this is is mere incompetence. Nevertheless, I can't recommend

We picked Das Salz for a 3-nights-long stay in late September. Arrival to the hotel was easy - it is on direct trolleybus line from the airport, takes about 25 minutes door-to-door. It is in walking distance from the heart of the city, takes about 15 minutes on foot. Check-in was easy and we did bump into a very friendly employee of this hotel, who offered some useful info about the hotel and the city. The room was fresh, clean and comfy, fully stocked bathroom and perfectly working WiFi. Albeit the room was facing the street, we slept amazingly well - the soundproof is a strong side of this hotel. We didn't take breakfast. After checkout, we were able to leave our luggage at this hotel. There were almost no negatives, except the area where the hotel is located - it's a much poorer / migrants-dense area of Salzburg compared to downtown and there're mostly non-European places around, which doesn't really feel nice. However, Austria is in general a very safe country, so we didn't have any issues while staying in this area.

A charming, compact, low touch hotel about 10 mins from the station. Really kind and attentive staff as well. It’s probably the only non-tourist trap in town, and was a great retreat from the rest of the city at days end. If I must visit Salzburg again, this is the only place I’ll stay!
