Genuinely friendly greeting and welcome. Lovely comfortable and well furnished room. The breakfast was superb and the catering staff were. Lovely . The stay was value for money and overall was a great experience . I would stay again as it was a very positive experience .

First of all a big thanks to the team at Grange Lodge who bailed a group of us out at fairly short notice after another hotel had made a mess of bookings. A group of 5 of us, two self catering apartments and a single room, all were perfectly adequate, clean, quiet, and had all the essentials we needed. No comment to make on the age of the furniture and decor as it suited our purposes perfectly. Looking through other reviews there are a couple of rants in there and these in no way mirror our experience. Staff and management all excellent, chatty and friendly, particularly good when you sit back and look at how busy they are and how hard they work throughout the day. The management bent over backwards to help us with our fishing trip needs and helped us with preserving our daily catch so a big thumbs up there. Food service was excellent but do make sure you book as it is very busy. Good selection at good prices and served quickly with no dramas whatsoever to report. Good bar service and plenty of choice. Great swimming pool and really nice grounds. All in all, highly recommended and we will be back for next years fishing trip! Thanks all.

Hassle free booking over the phone and a very relax and welcome check in. We arrived early and asked to drop off our bags but were taken to our rooms as they were ready - great start to a wonderful stay. Both rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with enough quality soaps, shampoo, show/bath gels and towels. Every surface was spotless. Breakfast was delightful, plenty of choice in the cereal, toast croissant, fruit juice area. Staff settled us in quickly and kept the coffee pot filled. Cooked breakfast order was taken, checked and set down very quickly. Always cooked freshly to order. A guest who had an issue with ‘wrong type’ of milk and dairy products, was particularly rude to the staff. The manager put things right very quickly before the guest escalated the issue into a drama. Huge tick was seeing that there was a pool, spent a lovely hour to myself and a hot outdoor shower. Again very clean, well maintained poolside. An added bonus for us was the location, The hotel is on the bus route to and from the airport- very convenient and cheaper than a taxi (not always available) Easy downhill walk into town, but steep uphill climb (almost a kilometre) back up. Didn’t check but the buses have a night service from the bottom of the hill and would prob stop at the hotel.

Very clean room, friendly staff. Stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the quirkeness of the hotel. The guest lounge was large and very nice to sit in. The swimming pool was lovely only wish the weather had been better to have made use of it. Breakfast was not as good as we were expecting. Cooked choice was limited and the toaster did not brown the toast. Had to put toast through twice and then it came out burnt. Cold selection was okay. We ate at the hotel every evening and the special board choices were very good. Only had one meal whch was not very good and that was the duck breast but the staff quickly dealt with the situation satisfactorily. If we were to return to Guernsey we would definitely stay here.

I was booked into the self catering apartments at the rear of Grange Lodge, for three months, from early May until the end of July. I am in Guernsey on business. The hotel grounds and pool are lovely, and the walk into the town is good, about 15mins, but be aware that the walk back is all uphill. The apartment itself seems very dated, the furniture doesn't have a welcoming feel, and although the owner didn't share my thoughts, I found it a little dark, with no sunlight. The furniture was very dated too. The sofa was terrible, it was faux leather, that was peeling off (see photos) It was uncomfortable too, they had put a blanket over it (a throw, sort of thing) but this just slid off. and every time I stood up, I was covered in "leather" flakes, which made a mess of the apartment. The TV wasn't great, a 32" tv on a precarious bracket, but it was watchable, but not comfortable. The kitchen was adequate. But only adequate enough, I suspect, to get through annual inspections. The frying pan was not great, and every time I cooked with it, it set off the fire alarm. Bedroom was fine, but the distance to the bathroom in the middle of the night seemed excessive, I had to walk out of the bedroom, into a corridor, walk about 10m into the living room, into the entrance hall, then into the bathroom. The owner didn't see this as a problem. The rooms are not described as en-suite, so that was ok. The bar meal was good, no issues with the one meal I had there, but if you want to eat there, you'll need to book. When my employer complained mainly about the state of the sofa, the owner mentioned that I hadn't complained. A sign that everything must be ok. I then sent an email listing my observations (not a complaint, but she took it as one). The next morning I was asked to leave, two weeks into a three month contract, leaving me homeless. In my email, I gave a phone number to contact me to discuss, but they didn't. They said that they came to see me but I wasn't there. I was actually at work, they told me that they left moments before I got back. They said that they never came back because they couldn't see a work van. I don't have a work van, but I have a car, that they had the registration number when I checked in. Clearly they never checked that. I found the owner uncaring, and in some parts of the conversation quite rude, when I asked her about her attitude, it was because I had the temerity to complain (which i didn't) she mentioned that my "threat" that the tripadvisor review wouldn't make pretty reading made up her mind to throw me out. It is sad that I had such an unsavoury experience, because the apartments have so much potential. The grounds are lovely, and the pool was a great place to spend some downtime. The cleaning staff were great too, always saying hello as they went about their business with a smile, but I would never stay there again, and I could not recommend others to use these apartments, this is of course my opinion, based on my experience

Excellent stay over seven nights, Grange Lodge is a well run, family friendly hotel, providing great value-for-money. In particular the home cooked evening meals served in the hotel bar/restaurant are of a very high quality. Grange Lodge is in a good central location for touring the island of Guernsey, as it's right beside local bus routes. This is our second successive visit and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for looking after us so well

Outstanding staff, they cannot do enough to help, lovely food with good sized portions, well positioned for access into St Peters Port and the island. Very reasonable prices for rooms and the restaurant. Rooms are comfortable with all the usual facilities I would definitely go there again without any hesitation.

We have just spent three nights at the Grange lodge, we enjoyed our stay immensely, it was our first visit to Guernsey. The staff were all very friendly and helpful . We normally go out and about for evening meals but the food was very good on our first night, we ate in there every night, again the staff were very friendly. We look forward to returning at some point.

As our flight to Guernsey was delayed, we contacted the hotel via email to inform them of our late arrival. As our flight delay became longer and longer, Oscar on reception, asked us if we would like to order food to be cooked before the restaurant closed and then as the kitchen would be closed, asked if we would like sandwiches to be made and left for us. We eventually arrived after midnight (eight hours late). Michelle was so lovely and understanding as she got up to let us in and showed us to our room. This is the sort of personal service you just wouldn't get in a modern chain hotel. The hotel had a lot of character and is very clean and comfortable with daily maid service. The Breakfast is fresh and made to order. Plenty of off street parking. Good location for walking into St. Peter Port. We also made use of the snooker table in the basement. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here if/when we return to Guernsey.
