This is my 2nd time at this hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly. I had room 17, single bed with a shared shower on the next floor. Free tea and coffee in bedroom. The hotel has a small cosy bar near the front entrance and a nearby dining area. Breakfast is included in the price, which is very competitive. A new feature is an evening meal, which can be ordered anytime before 9pm. Friends who live locally joined me for a varied menu, with vegetarian options. I had a stress free relaxing 3 night stay. Highly recommended.

This hotel is one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in. Reading some of the previous bad reviews it is clear that it is under new management. Yes it is a budget hotel and not a five star establishment. The management are clearly turning the place around. The staff are amazing, and can't do enough for you. The restaurant is independent of the hotel and provides good basic British food as well Filipino options. The only criticism was the sausages at breakfast which were very budget.

Excellent value. Breakfast was included, really nice and cooked fresh for you. Hotel clean throughout and rooms were spacious. Hotel Staff were cheerful and helpful. Wifi was great and at a excellent speed. A relaxing place to stay. Family friendly with strict no smoking rules.

Fantastic Staff and a fabulous welcome to us. Nothing was too much trouble. We arrived early but no problem leaning the car there whilst exploring the local area. This was ideally situated for the Oval festival venue which had a gig over the weekend.

The room advertised with a queen sized bed but it was a double, the room smelt a little bit damp as windows were not open, toilet didn't work properly, unpainted in sections, some light bulbs didn't work, cracked paint on the walls, going to sleep was difficult as mattress wasn't that comfortable, the door kept sounding like it was being opened, 2:30am people coming in drunk and slamming doors which woke me up, best thing about bed time was black out curtains. The shower was ridiculous no pressure and the nossel went limp due to the heat in the shower. Went down to breakfast that was just as bad, no cooked breakfast, unlabeled milk and juice, couple of pastries, bit of cereal and fruit and a bit of cheese. Now that might please some people but it's not for us. When u pay for 2 nights and only stay one that's a sign not to go back. Hotel staff were lovley but it's not for us.

The hotel is in need of general maintenance, particularly in the bathroom where mould needs to be removed and the shower pressure upgraded. We had a good nights sleep. Previously breakfast included a full English with cereals. The continental has been upgraded, but bacon and sausage have been removed, leaving fried eggs, tomato and hash browns. This is apparently an experiment, which in our opinion, and that of others, in the dining room is totally misjudged and a mistake. The staff are pleasant and helpful, but the breakfast now makes this hotel less attractive.

We stayed for 1 night and were placed on the top floor. There is no lift and a narrow staircase. The room was basic and the bathroom had mould and cracked tiles with a barely functioning power shower There was also no toilet roll which the receptionist handed over when I requested. Breakfast was served until 9.30am and was eggs and hash browns with fruit, cereal and a toaster. Overhead the waitress say the company have scrapped sausages, bacon etc for cost saving. It’s not worth the price as you can walk to town for cheaper and tastier options. Overall, I would not stay here again.

The entrance is lovely, as is the bar area. The restaurant would make you go wow and the garden looks good. The receptionist and waitress very polite and helpful. Sadly, these are the highlights. Our room, whilst clean, had mould all round the windows. The bathroom window had no curtain, leading to an incident in the night of a large shape banging again the window that made me glad to be sitting on the toilet. The kettle didn't work, which made the complimentary tea and coffee pointless. No plug in the sink. Paperthin walls that left us in no doubt as to the couple next door's activities. Furniture felt very student accommodation and like a cheaper Ikea set. A pile of bags of dirty laundry that stayed at the bottom of the stairs for the 2 days we were there put the seal on our feelings about it all.
