Wanted a place across the Canadian border, a fairly short distance from Montréal, but didn't want to deal with Montréal the first night. Check. For some reason thought this place was near some local spots for dinner in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, near the interesting Richelieu River. Not so much. In a commercial area just off busy Rte 104 (the room, however, was very quiet), a substantial part of the Motel appears to be a welfare motel. Never threatening, but it appears large sections of the motel were for long-term living. Even a gas grill outside one room. NO amenities- not even a coffee maker in the room, and an unsecured key drop (a little worrying) for morning departure. Fridge in the room. Obviously no breakfast, and it looks like the on-premises bar closed down not too long ago. Room/bed itself was very clean, with new floors and what looked like very new tiling in the bathroom. No noise from adjacent rooms or highway, but had the AC fan on for white noise just in case. A previous reviewer stated he would stay there again, without his wife. I probably wouldn't, but only because I like to be closer to interesting restaurants/bars/scenery, and this didn't meet the bill. Price was right though.
