Arrival and check in no problem, room was quiet small and cool.Milk supplied for tea/coffee in nice small milk bottle from fridge in corridor. we opened it and found it had a brackish smell, took to reception who replaced it only to find same issue. Went out and bought some milk. Had a meal in restaurant which was enjoyable and returned to room still no heating, we were too tired to complain. morning very cold, had a cooked breakfast that was ok, mentioned the milk issue with the lady on breakfast duty and she was surprised so went to check other bottles and found same issue, New milk that day was fine so not sure what was wrong. Upon return found still no heating so spoke to young staff in bar and they tried to resolve it without success so in the end we were given another room. Next morning departed early as we had a way to travel but came away a little deflated over the stay.

A lovely stay at Halfway House Inn which is well situated for local attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable with an outside terrace. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and plentiful with lots of choice. The evening meals are wonderful, quality well cooked food at reasonable prices. Just a word of warning, there are no amenities at the inn during the day until the bar opens at 6pm

We celebrated my husband’s 80th birthday with a surprise family dinner for 12 at the Halfway House. There was no question of a set chosen meal as our family includes a pescatarian, a vegetarian, two with Crohns and one allergic to celery. Henk, the owner/chef, said each of us could choose anything off the menu on the day. He let us decorate round the table with balloons etc. The staff were great - cheerful and efficient, they went out of their way to make it a special evening. 6 of the family stayed and liked the rooms and the breakfast. I have been to the Halfway House for dinner many times and always loved the food. This was an especially good experience, worthy of 5 stars. Thank you to Henk and his staff.

We have been to this amazing inn before so when we were given vouchers at Christmas we were delighted to be able to use them whilst on holiday at Trewince Farm Holiday Park nearby. The meal was simply delicious, ordered the hake and a rare steak, both cooked to perfection. Desserts were yummy, sticky toffee pudding and the creme brulee. Our complimentary pre starter of fresh bread/flavoured butter etc was gratefully received, thank you. Can't wait to return, it really is superb, the decor, the food the whole atmosphere makes for a wonderful evening.

This is a beautiful must stay place in Wadebridge, we have passed it many times on the main road and staying here was amazing. The pub itself is beautiful and rustic, it has a true Cornish feel with the best fire, service and food we have had in the area. The tomahawk for two is an absolute must, the mushrooms have a wild garlic crumb and are one of the best things we have ever eaten. The staff also couldn’t do more for us, we had room 5 and the bed was super comfortable and the rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The little veranda outside our room was also a bonus when the spring sunshine shone and when there is a storm you can watch it over the fields which was magical. We will definitely stay here again and 100% will visit just for the great food.

First time here and very pleased we chose the Halfway House for our Sunday Lunch. We all went for the carvery which was an excellent choice. We tried a generous slice of 4 different meats and helped ourselves to lots of tasty veggies and various sauces. Staff were charming and checked we were ok a number of times. Good value for money, not rushed at all and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Will definitely return.

The starter of Lobster Thermidor tart was delicious, as was the bread and dipping sauce and everything else except for the rib eye and fillet steak for mains. The peppercorn sauce was lovely, chips were good but although the steaks were tender, the taste of the charcoal was harsh and bitter, particularly for the fillet steak. I don’t know what exactly happened, but mine had a harsh bitter char taste to it and I couldn’t eat it - I did try - and I have more than sufficient experience to know that it wasn’t right or pleasant. I did make this known at the time, but was really very surprised to see that no reduction was made on the bill. A very disappointing start to my husband’s birthday weekend and I therefore didn’t make a fuss. Unfortunate timing or just bad luck on this particular occasion I’m not sure but it has certainly put us off.
