words cannot express how well my wife and i were looked after at the ommeroo, staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble for them. we had a wonderful stay, bed was so comfy shower worked well food was excellent throughout, and yes the hotel is in a prime location, only a 15 min walk to town and bus stop right outside the hotel, all in all a fabulous stay, and we will 100% return,

Great location and bus stops just outside. Breakfast was great, such a shame they only provide one pack of 2 biscuits for two guests in the room!??! Staff were really helpful and friendly. Lovely Greek restaurant and pub serving food within walking distance.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and we could not fault the housekeeping and restaurant service. However the room was a very big disappointment. We booked a sea view room with a balcony. We understood this hotel had been refurbished but obviously our room (room 2) had been missed. Much of the furniture was chipped there was a large chunk out of one of the tiles in the fireplace which wasn't shown on the advertising photograph. The bathroom was worse, there was a large chunk out of the bathroom mirror which caused a painful scrape when I caught it with my hand as it was right next to the hand wash, the sink was obviously blocked in some way as any more than about two cups of water took an age to empty and there was a crack in the basin which fortunately didn't leak. The shower had taps that were seized up - we managed to move them eventually and thought we could use the shower - how wrong - the shower head would not stay up and just dribbled water down the wall and who on earth thought a full size floor to ceiling clear glass window right next to the toilet was a good idea, the blind barely touched the sides and the window would not shut, we had to use a chair to hold the window closed - eventually someone came to put a new handle on the window, the handle broke again and we were back to putting a chair against the window to hold it shut, this only lasted until there was a storm when the chair was blown across the room and the rain poured in, it was a very cold night. The manager said it would be repaired first thing the following morning but nothing happened and we had to go down to reception and ask what was happening as we were not going to spend a further freezing cold night in that room listening to the rattle of the door and movement of the chair. Eventually someone came and repaired the handle. We had hoped to use the safe supplied in the room but were not able to as the last guest had shut it and it would not open. Altogether our stay was spoiled through lack of basic care and attention. We are hoping to return to Jersey next year but the Ommaroo would need to be considerably improved for us to stay there again. It has an air of neglect which needs a good management team to improve.

Ommaroo is very much a traditional seaside hotel. Unlike a lot of these type of hotels that feel past their prime, the place generally seemed very well maintained. The bedroom was spacious, with plenty of storage, and very clean, though it did have a mysterious locked door which allowed a lot of noise to travel through from the other side. Overall though, I was happy with the room. The staff were also generally very friendly and helpful, providing advice on the bus services and also supplying a fan for the room. The included breakfast was of good quality, with plenty of options including cooked. I also had dinner at the hotel one night, which was good quality, if a bit pricey. Overall I was very happy with my stay, and would happily stay again.

Fantastic location opposite the lido and a homely feel to the hotel. I used it as a base for the coastal walk around Jersey. Easy to catch bus to bus station or 15 minute walk to get to start/ from end points each day. I stayed in a single room on top floor, quite small but suited my needs. Special mention to all the staff who were welcoming and friendly. Particular thanks for looking after my purse when I left it on a bar table and went out for the day! Happy to recommend.

We have just spent a week at the Ommaroo, and were very impressed particularly with the lovely helpful staff, location, great room, excellent breakfast selection and super Sunday roast. We had a dip in the pool too (lido & beach opposite). About 15 minutes walk to the bus station in the centre of St Helier with bus stops right outside the hotel. The hotel does have steps and stairs, so please check with them if that causes you any concerns.

This is a lovely hotel, in a marvellous position next to the beach and lido, with nice, large rooms (ours had a balcony overlooking the beach), a lovely breakfast, and some great relaxation areas. The staff are all very helpful, especially Lucia, who spent a long time sorting out some reservation issues I had, for which I was extremely grateful. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting beautiful Jersey.

What can I say ... amazing! From the minute I walked through the door I knew I had chosen the right hotel. My first solo holiday, so a little apprehensive. Paid a little extra for a seaview and balcony room. The room was just perfect, spotlessly clean, everything I had requested (room.94). Met by John whos customer service all through my stay was exemplary. My case was delivered to my room while I checked in. Ethran on reception sorted out all my queries, booked an excursion and explained where everything was in the hotel. Originally booked bed and breakfast but ended up staying for evening meals. The breakfast is everything you could want from full cooked, to cereals, continental, juices and hot drinks. The evening meals had a choice of al a carte or set menu. All of good quality. There is a beautiful garden area and a separate outdoor pool area. On the front is a lido and a gorgeous sandy bay. I know people have mentioned a main road and I honestly have not found it a problem. There is traffic during rush hour but no more. Certainly did not keep me awake a night. There is an excellent bus service right outside the front door which takes you into St Helier bus station and from there you can get anywhere on the island. Thank you Ommaroo for a fantastic 1st solo holiday and hopefully see you again next year.
