Greenwood Plantation B&B

It was the perfect place for a Sister Trip! Everyone was friendly, hospitable, thoughtful, and helpful. Julie (the owner) checked in with us frequently to see if we needed anything and Stacey went out of her way to spoil us with the desires of our hearts for a delicious breakfast each morning! The tour of the mansion was very interesting and informative. The grounds were well kept up and offered a serene and peaceful setting for an early morning cup of coffee on the porch while rocking and listening to the birds singing and chatting with each other. At 6:00 PM each evening, the national anthem is played over speakers from the mansion, and the sound of it wafting over the quiet terrain and through the majestic moss draped oak trees is absolutely beautiful. My sisters and I highly recommend it!!

This place is incredible! The service is wonderful. Anything you could need they have. So clean, so well decorated. The owners are on property, and they ensure your stay is special. Beautiful views, amazing breakfasts, and super friendly staff. Have to come here!

Stayed two nights with wife. We were the only folks there the first night. July and August are not tourist season in the South except for mad dogs and Englishmen but we got thundershowers that cooled things down. The grounds are beautiful, the house interesting and the owners and staff very nice. Greenwood is a little hard to find as it is well off the beaten path but that makes it very nice for a quiet getaway. The rooms are very nice and each has a private covered porch on one side and another veranda with a view of the house. We will go back. St Francisville which is maybe 10 miles away is a really pretty little town and there are good places to eat and shopping.

We had an amazing stay at the bed & breakfast. The owners & hosts went out of their way to make our stay special, the breakfast was delicious, the tour was super fun and educational. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed every minute and will be back!!

We had a great time in this peaceful and idyllic location spending our time walking the grounds and enjoying the beauty. Everyone from Hal and Julie, the owners to Mary and Stacey are super friendly and ready to please. Our room across the pond was super comfortable, roomy, and spotless. We enjoyed sitting out on the rocking chair sipping a beverage. The breakfast was sumptuous. Waffles with blueberries, English muffins with sausage and scrambled eggs. The free tour of the mansion and it's varied owners, displaced history, and interesting movie tidbits was well organized by Mary.

A beautiful plantation including a tour by owners who provide a thorough historical explanation for guests at their excellent on site B&B. It's in a picturesque rural setting on 300 acres near the Mississippi River just north of St Francisville, LA which was an 1800s commercial river port like Natchez and Vicksburg, MS.

We stayed at Greenwood recently and enjoyed the beauty and quiet of the well manicured grounds and clean rooms. The tour and plantation history by the Pilcher’s was very interesting and entertaining. Thanks Julie and Stacey for all your assistance.

The Greenwood Plantation property is located off an old country road, which makes it more secluded and private. We stayed there recently at the bed and breakfast during the Memorial Day Holiday and we slept in the Hillard Barrow Room which is located facing the parking lot and horse pasture. The rooms on the other side offers great views of the historic home. The room was very clean and comfortable. The rate includes a nicely prepared breakfast and a tour of the home in the morning. The owners Julie and Hal treated us like family! We really enjoyed meeting them and they made our experience more enjoyable. The dining room where the breakfast is served, offers great views of the pond and the beautiful plantation home. There are also complimentary light snacks like chocolate chip cookies, granola bars, bottled water, and bagged ice offered to the bed and breakfast guests in the dining room along with some board games. At night, we enjoyed watching the fireflies flying around the majestic oak trees. It was truly a magical experience. We would highly recommend this fabulous place! We are looking forward to returning back again to stay in the near future.

My husband and I stayed here for our 40th anniversary last weekend and we’re so happy we chose it! This was an exceptional experience all the way! The owners Hal and Julie are the most genuine and down to earth, friendly people making sure we always had everything we needed and took the time to chat with each guest often. Mary was a great tour guide of the mansion. Very friendly and informative. Stacey was super nice and was always baking the best fresh chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies that were offered 24 hours a day. Upon arriving she spotted us walking the grounds and came out with these warm, from the oven delectable treats. Breakfast was delicious every morning! Croissants,waffles,eggs,bacon and sausage. The blueberries from the property were to die for! We stayed in number 8 and were very happy with the room. Quiet, clean, cozy and charming and the bed was very comfy! Had a great view of the barn and horses. I think next time we will book earlier to get a room available that looks over the pond and mansion. The nightly 6 pm patriotic national anthem, etc that is played over the grounds from the top of the mansion was icing on the cake! We absolutely love these people and I cannot say enough of how happy we were staying here!
