Founded in 1848 the Logis de la Cadene is one of the oldest hotel restaurants in Saint-Emilion. The Logis is located on a small square in the very centre of the medieval town.
It was always a favourite of the Bouard de Laforest family living in nearby Chateau Angelus and they ended up acquiring it in summer 2013.
Relax rest and even laze in delightful settings featuring a combination of materials bathrooms with cement tiles time-polished wood furniture revived parquet flooring and rare Chinese artefacts.
In February 2017 three years after the restaurant was taken over by Angelus the Michelin Guide awarded its first star to the Logis de la Cadene.Show More

Our stay was beyond expectations. The room and service was exceptional. The Michelin star restaurant was brilliant. A special thank you to the team, especially Camille who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, see to all of our questions and needs.

The property is beautiful, and the pictures don’t properly do it justice. Each room looks like something out of a magazine. The staff was terrific and found us a wonderful restaurant to eat in on short notice. My husband and I also enjoyed a glass of wine late night in the beautiful living room salon while our sons relaxed upstairs. The path to get to the hotel is original cobblestone and steep. It may not be well suited for the elderly or infirm, but it’s a unique and wonderful experience for anyone who can navigate.

We so enjoyed our three night stay here. The staff were professional, courteous and very attentive. The rooms and dining areas were beautifully decorated and meticulous. The breakfasts were ample, presented well and absolutely delicious. We’re so glad we decided to stay here in the center of St Emilion with access to all the shops, cafes and attractions. We also are very pleased that we chose to eat dinner at their Michelin Star restaurant. That was an experience we will never forget!

Chambre très agréable avec une vue superbe sur saint Emilion . La literie excellente et le personnel charmant. Le petit déjeuner raffiné dans un cadre calme et cosi. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour avec le dîner du chef étoilé sur la terrasse arborée du logis. Belle expérience culinaire servie par un personnel très professionnel et agréable . Rien de guindé, tout en simplicité et élégance. Nous reviendrons.
