If you can imagine living in a cuckoo clock house this is the hotel to stay in. It is a traditional German hotel full of beautiful features. We went with a coach trip to the Christmas market in Rudesheim and stayed for four nights. The hotel is usually a bed and breakfast hotel in the winter - the Italian restaurant is closed. They gave suggestions where you can go to eat but on our trip they cooked us an evening meal. We didn’t have a lot of choice but what was given to us was well cooked and home made. Breakfast was amazing for me. I love meats and cheeses, breads and jam. I could make a Caprese salad as they had slices of mozzarella and tomato and a stunning pesto sauce. There was an onion chutney to die for and other accompaniments to go with the meats and cheeses. Hot food was bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs. Cereals, yoghurts, fruit was available. There was a small bar where we could get drinks throughout the evening. The hotel itself was spotless and very warm. The rooms are nothing fancy and modern but cosy and very adequate for your stay. The bed was comfy and the shower powerful with lots of hot water. No noise from other rooms. The wi fi is stable and we had no problems with it. The hotel was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Everywhere you looked there were stunning wooden/natural decorations. I was in heaven. We had a room overlooking the road and had no issues with the cars passing. Our windows were shut as it was cold, this could change if they are open during the summer. The hotel is situated a two minute walk outside the market, nice and quiet. The Christmas market in Rudesheim is stunning. Cobbled streets and alleys, medieval houses everywhere. Like being in a fairytale. Excellent market, over 100 stalls. We loved the hotel and Rüdesheim so much we have booked to return 2025. Can’t wait.
