Beautiful old coaching inn, and although the dead centre of this attractive town was very quiet. Massive room with 3 large widows . All yoid expect from a hotel charging twice as much. Water, wifi, tea, and coffee.bright spacious accommodation. Friendly staff, and as a bigger bonus, fantastic beers with walking distance .

This is my honest review nice old building but needs a make over and needs some tender loving care to the place when I got in the hotel I needed the WC so first impression it wasn't good smelling of urine and needs a make over ! We stayed in room 11 nice big room bed was comfy but needs a make over ! Did not have food there untill breakfast time so could not say about evening meal ! But breakfast was ok toast didn't come with breakfast unless you asked !! Staff were friendly enough!! Bar and seating area needs up dating! But very good for being in the middle of Ross !

We had another perfect stay at the King's Head! This is a great hotel in every way. The room is always immaculate and so full of character, as is the whole place. The food, as always, was exceptional and all locally sourced. But what tops it all is the wonderful welcome- the staff cannot do enough to make your stay the best it could be. Thank you for your kindness, Magda, and thanks to all the staff, too.

This is a fabulous family run hotel. Our group of 16 were looked after very well. Breakfast was delicious, such a treat to have it served, and not a buffet (except for the cereals etc). Tea and coffee made fresh and not from a machine. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel, special shout out to Maggie who really looked after us 😊

Although the hotel was very nice room size fantastic but I had a very bad experience in the restaurant the food was lovely but there was a issue with the bill or rather the payment which really upset me and spoilt the whole weekend afterwards I did not feel comfortable in the hotel and felt like a thief

Have visited Ross-On-Wye on three previous occasions (staying at the Broadmeadow Park each time) but had never before ventured into The Kings Head Hotel. Having been recommended to us by the bar staff of another pub that did not serve food on Tuesdays, we called in early afternoon to book a table for an evening meal. And, as we were there, ordered just the one round of drinks for the four of us. The genuine and warm welcome we received that afternoon from the bar staff (who I later learnt was Emily) made for an enjoyable hour. We returned for our evening meal to find that Emily, as she was not working that evening, had mentioned us to the restaurant staff who also made us feel very welcome. Just as importantly, the quality of the drinks and the food were second to none and the ambience in both the bar and restaurant were just right. As a main course I had the sirloin steak which was lean (as requested) and cooked to my liking. I always think that eating out is more than good food and drink. It is an event. And all the staff (of which Emily deserves a special mention) made it an afternoon and evening to remember. So thank you. Needless to say, this will be our first port of call next time we visit Ross. Diolch Emily a’r holl staff fu’n gweini arnom.

Booked for B and B and featured in the main section of the Good Pub Guide. A lovely old pub centrally located in pretty Ross-on-Wye. A rabbit warren of rooms and delightful restaurant area at the back. Pleasant little courtyard. Delightful crew. Very well appointed bedroom and en suite. Clean and comfortable. Decent hangers. Decent napkins at breakfast. It's the little things that count. Sauce in a pot, not those ghastly plastic sauce sachets. Simple breakfast, full English and a lighter smoked salmon with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. 🇬🇧🇳🇿
