The hotel is old and in need of renovation and investment. It doesn't reach four stars in any way. The service depends on the staff that assists you. Some few are very helpful, others the opposite. The logic of some things is not understood, for example, the indoor pool is open on Fridays and Saturdays until 8 p.m., the rest of the weekdays it closes at 6 p.m. Unfortunately it was the only pleasant place since they were windy days and you couldn't go to the beach. When I asked why they wouldn't have it every day until 8pm, no one could give me a reason. I filed a formal complaint but no one answered me, and it was probably because they don't care. Most of the staff are temporary staff and it shows. You are not going to eat quality products either. The attention there is not good either. The rooms are noisy and with the idea that the tourist must be happy and entertained, the music or whatever show is played at high volume until after 12 at night, the rooms that face the pool have to suffer that lack of consideration. For the locals it will be acceptable, but obviously it is not for everyone who stays there. It is not a cheap hotel, and if they do not improve all aspects of service provision and facilities, they will lose customers until they disappear.

There are lots of good things about this hotel. The beachside location is perfect and you can walk on the promenade in both directions. The staff were very friendly and happy to help especially the nice lady in the spa. Sea view rooms are stunning and worth paying extra, as the back facing rooms are dark. The outdoor pool area is lovely. Cleaners do a good job. What let this hotel down for me, sadly, was the food. It was tepid and mostly unappealing. The quality of the food was poor e.g. very fatty bacon, rubbery steaks and processed vegetables. Also, the crockery, knives and forks were often dirty with dried on food, lipstick marks etc. The hotel needs to invest in new hot plates / serving stations and much better dishwashers.

POSITIVES The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and as we arrived a little early they directed us to the poolside bar to wait whilst the room was prepared. Once ready, we discovered that the room was clean and well-maintained with powerful aircon and comfy beds. The bathroom contained lots of towels and a range of free toiletries. The kitchen had a working fridge and microwave and the balcony had a terrific view of the pool and beach. The poolside bar serves a small portion of free tapas when you order a round of drinks. The price of 1 large beer or a tinto de verano with 3 soft drinks was less than £8 which is incredible. The tapas was tasty as well. There are a range of shops, cafes and bars around the hotel and beach access is literally across the path at the rear of the hotel. The pool area was clean and well-maintained and the water slide was good fun for the children. You never had to fight to get sun loungers as there was plenty of space. The restaurant (we had breakfast and evening meal included) served a wide range of foods, and the breakfast includes pancakes, cereals, continental style and pastries along with unlimited hot drinks. It was clean and the service was friendly and prompt. LESS POSITIVE This hotel is a destination for Spanish people to go on holiday, so most of what is in place does not cater to those looking for a Spanish holiday ‘for Brits’. This isn’t as much a problem for me as I love Spanish culture, but many of the staff did not speak English and the Animacion team provided all their entertainment in Spanish which might leave British children a little left out, although ours were able to join in with party dances and the late night pool party. The evening meals in the restaurant were predominantly local dishes geared heavily to seafood and the like. I’ll eat anything but my wife is a fussy eater and if you or your family like to eat nuggets and roast dinners you will not find that available here. My children found there was always one thing they would eat but weren’t spoilt for choice. The room decor is a little dated but who really cares when it’s just a base and you should be out at the beach or by the pool anyway! NEGATIVE The poolside bar does not provide any kind of snack provision such as chips and sandwiches as the tapas and drinks are served from a high end restaurant. This was disappointing as we like to enjoy a beer and some chips by the pool for our lunch. The language barrier with our waitress meant we’d asked for a menu which there was no point receiving as we couldn’t order food to be delivered poolside anyway, but she wasn’t really able to communicate this with us and we sat their waiting for an order we never could have had. But again, we should be learning to speak Spanish better! I’m not entirely sure LoveHolidays researched whether this hotel is suitable for Brits wanting the ‘Brits abroad’ experience so if you want that you’re best sticking to Salou or Benidorm. This is not a 4* hotel. I’ve been in 3* better than this. The room was very nice as it had been refurbished as was the dining room.Be ware not all rooms have been refurbished. Unfortunately the food was not that good even though was able to find something to eat each day even if it was the same as the day before. Towards the end of our stay we heard the dining room staff say they were just using up the food they had. On 1/11/24 the hotel was over run with Spanish people for a Halloween show. These people took priority which wasn’t fair when we had paid a lot of money for the holiday. Also didn’t like it that dogs were allowed in when the Spanish people came. Ice cream ran out for the kids. The reception reminded us of being in cell block H prison. Very dark and dismal. Nothing outside the hotel for entertainment may be due to end of season. Was in a good position with a gate through onto the beach. Pool area ok but could do with more sun beds and new parasols. Pool very cold. We won’t be going again .? We couldn’t fault the staff as they all worked very hard.
