Rome Castro Pretorio Hotels

I'm sure that each of us has his own scale of factors to evaluate whether a place is beautiful or ugly but that the added value is the people. In this clean, nice and very comfortable hotel, near the Roma Termini station, it is precisely the people who make a small hotel a point of reference for our trips to Rome. Paola from the reception was, and is, the person who followed us during the booking process and who went out of her way to help us project our photographs on a wall, in a small room set up just for us, a small group of photographers arrived in town for a two day photography course. Thanks Thanks Thanks dear Paola, you are invaluable for the hotel and for the people who stay with you.. an infinite thanks from all of us. Federica

Sono un'insegnante, siamo andati con un gruppo di 35 alunni ”vivacini” di terza media. Ci siamo trovati benissimo: posizione comoda zona Termini, locale rinnovato pulito e ordinato, colazione completa e abbondante, set di cortesia e asciugamani rinnovati giornalmente, servizio di vigilanza e di manutenzione sempre disponibile e tempestivo; prima di partire ci hanno addirittura gentilmente stampato le carte d'imbarco. Lo consiglio vivamente per esperienze di questo tipo.

The hotel was conveniently located 5-min from Termini train station and the FCO airport shuttle bus and hop on hop off bus stops just across. We stayed 2 times during our 2 week stay in Rome - over night stay before heading down to Civitavecchia Port for MSC cruise and 4 night stay upon return from the cruise ship. We used the hotel storage service for one of our luggage bags for a week during our 7-day cruise. The hotel staffs were friendly.

Our stay at the Hotel Archimediocre was strange to say the least. The hallways and common areas were fairly nice, and the breakfast was okay. However the rooms were a rather different story. Our room was shared between three, and two of the beds were pushed up against each other so we had to essentially share a bed. The sheets and towels were unclean and there was hair all over them, suggesting they hadn’t been cleaned properly. My sheets also had holes in them. The shower was inconvenient, as there was no shower curtain and no plug, so we had to take showers sitting down in the bath (which was stained). The privacy was limited. Our window looked out onto a utility area which was very dirty. The utility area also seemed to be used as a smoking spot for the staff. However, since the window was not airtight, the smell of cigarettes filled our room frequently. What’s more, our blinds didn’t close all the way and we saw the staff looking into our room through the window several times. Our friend’s door handle fell off the door too, which made opening and closing the room difficult. The air conditioning was functional, however it made our room smell disgusting. Since our trip was in the spring this was not too much of an issue, but had we travelled a few months earlier this would have been another story. The staff were not unkind but neither were they overly warm. However, the location of the hotel was good, and our stay overall was not too bad.

I and my fellow stayed early in this facility a little while ago... nothing to say about cleaning, but on furniture and the environment you... Little room, but at the end this is not the real problem...the real problem is darkness inside the Room... dark walls and window with the persians that did not open so we were forced to light even in the day. Small but nice bathroom, as small but clean shower. The staff is very friendly, but don't ask the reception for information about the trains because they don't know them. The Council for the nearness of the station, but if it wasn't for that, I don't know if I had chosen this structure... to be revised a lot.

The room is not big, but it has a small balcony which is very good. The thin blanket for sleeping is not warm enough, so I asked for another one, and the service staff also added one, which was very satisfactory. It is near the train station and is convenient for access. Although the breakfast is simple, the service is good.

Small rooms but very clean, comfy modern beds with good bedding, wifi ports, air conditioning, flat screen tv. Good value. Quite. Both our rooms included a small balcony (fitting 2 chairs, providing a nice place to have a drink). Picked due to location near Termini and would go back again, although when we rolled up to hotel, I was a little worried as did not have a great entrance - of note, there is no lobby -hotel is the top 2 floors of an older apt building and you have to be buzzed in every time (but spent 4 days there and came back all times and there was always someone manning front desk to buzz you in so wasn't a problem.) Saw photos of old dated rooms from other reviews and I did not have any rooms like that - both my room and my friends were modern, all white, clean, similar to photos on hotel's site (as were others I saw when doors were open or when staff was cleaning). Staff v friendly and helpful. Pics show a dining area, but that was unavailable during our stay - we had to go out daily for breakfast.

Amazing hostel, was very social and has kind staff comfy beds nice shower. Amazing for the price. Special shout out to the barman who was very kind throughout our stay, I’m sure me and all my friends will miss this place.
