We were supposed to stay here from 7/12-7/14 (last stop in our Italy trip). A week before, while we were in Venice, I received an email from the property stating that the room we are to stay has some pipe issues and they have to relocate us to another ”luxury” hotel. One of the reasons we got this hotel was its central location as our stay in Rome is very short and we were traveling with another family who were staying around here. When I looked up the hotel they suggested, it was FAR north of Vatican and the rates were much cheaper (probably due to location). The email from Vittoriano Suites was simply ”take it or your reservation is cancelled automatically.” When I explained my situation, they sent me some pictures of people working in the unit we were to stay and said ”as an evidence, we are sending you these pictures”. The pictures showed a man standing around the toilet and frankly could've been any room (I attached here). It was VERY stressful looking for a new room as our itinerary was packed in Italy. I noticed that there was another review with same exact circumstance. I definitely agree with the other review that this is a scam - they are renting out the room at a higher price to someone else last min. THE TOP MANAGEMENT needs to be aware of this practice, unless they are the ones involved. I am only taking the time to write for future customers - TO STAY AWAY. DO BUSINESS WITH HONEST people who would keep their word. Don't risk adding unnecessary stress to your vacation/celebration.

This was literally a last minute booking and we could not have made a better choice. Our booking included breakfast but we told the receptionist we might not use it since we were scheduled on a early flight the next day. She contacted her colleague and then informed me that they were going to provide breakfast earlier for me. I thought that was nice. The next day my husband and I woke up a little too early so we decided to go for a stroll one last time. On our way out I saw a man by the reception area that looked at me and said good morning. I replied and didn't give it a second thought. Needless to say our stroll took longer than anticipated because we received a notification that our flight was delayed. When we walked back into the hotel, there was that man again. I thought it seemed odd. Turns out this man was the owner of the hotel. He was the colleague the receptionist had spoken about the day before and he was waiting for me in order to serve us breakfast. My husband and I felt absolutely horrible for leaving to take a stroll. We apologized to the man for the misunderstanding on our part. He was the most courteous man. He quickly provided us with an array of first class pastries that my mouth just adored. We couldn't believe what excellent service we were receiving. We will gladly stay here again. By the way the rooms are excellent. We booked two rooms, because we traveled with our teenage son and he took the second room. The rooms are gorgeous. We will gladly stay here again. Thank you

So, while the location is not in the centre of Rome, it is within 7 mins of the Circo Massimo Metro, which will get you to the vast majority of major attractions within 15-20 mins. However, for those of you who like me, love to walk and explore places, it's the perfect compromise. Literally, on the doorstop of attractions of such as Circo Massimo, Knights of Malta Keyhole, The Mouth of Truth and the Altare della patria. There are other sights to see while walking from the hotel. On arrival at the hotel, the staff there were fantastic in looking after me. I'd had a bit of a long walk, so I was looking a bit hot and flustered, so she immediately offered me water and assistance. The hotel itself was beautiful. It was really quiet and peaceful. The room and facilities were superb. I had a robe, slippers, and tea making facilities. Curiously there didnt appear to be a safe, but didn't need one so never asked any questions. The slight downside side was that there was no breakfast served. However, there is a cafe 100 metres down the road who do a lovely breakfast. As a solo traveller, it was too bad but a family may think differently. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard which would be perfect for breakfast or evening meals. I guess it must be a purely financial decision. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. I have to govd credit to those on duty on 21st ans 22nd May. They were a credit to the hotel. In summary, a great hotel, great facilities, great value and wonderful staff.
