Great location, clean rooms, and nice hotel staff. I stayed in room 213 with one King bed. It had a couch, chair, a desk and mini frig. If you had a teenage kiddo or small child they could easily sleep on the couch or fit an airmatteress. If your coming for work purposes the desk is great with several outlets.

The worst customer service EVER!! darkish, the general manager is rude, yells at his customers. The front desk team takes its cue from Darvish. They are also rude and not accommodating. NEVER STAY HERE.

The hotel & staff were very friendly. All of my needs were met. The location of the hotel is also right by the beach & the rooms are so modern. I give this hotel 5 stars. Also the front desk agent John was the absolute best & very welcoming. will be returning!

I wished I had the reviews before I booked this hotel. I booked for 3 nights through the IHG website. When I arrived at the hotel, I gave my card for incidentals. Someone with me got sick and we had to check out. I was charged not only for the full amount of my stay, but an $75 early departure fee! Then when I called the hotel direct, they were rude and dismissive. The breakfast that they provide is also terrible! I don’t want to book with an IHG hotel again.

The General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Bayview in Rockport Texas cancelled our reservation without advance notice. When my wife and I arrived at the hotel, which is three hours from our home, we were told that our reservation was cancelled because we booked using the military rate. We did not. We have a confirmation from IHG showing that we booked using the State Government Employee rate, which we qualify for according to IHG. My wife is a public school employee and was travelling on business. When we offered to show the front desk clerk ID proving that we did qualify for the rate, we were told that the best they could do was give us a room at rack rate. We declined and ended up finding a room at a competing property. When we got back home I reached out to both the property management and IHG guest relations and did not receive a reply from either. When I again called IHG guest relations I was told property management said the reservation was cancelled due to our not qualifying for the rate. The third time I called guest relations I was told that the property management said the reservation was cancelled because it was not a business trip. The fourth time I contacted guest relations I was told that the reservation was cancelled because the room was booked under my name. Regardless of their reasons for cancelling the reservation, what really has me upset was the fact that no one from either the property or IHG reservations notified us that the reservation was cancelled. We first found out about it when we attempted to check into the hotel. I have been an IHG rewards members for over ten years, and have booked many reservations for my wife using the State Government Employee rate. I have never before encountered any issues. I'm not saying I won't ever book with IHG in the future, but will say IHG won't be my first choice when selecting properties. This is shoddy customer service. I expect better from IHG and am very disappointed.

Have stayed here several times, but last time was 3+ years ago, but if it had been in this condition previously, we would have not returned. Certainly the "least clean" HIE we have stayed experienced. Are there new owners or management? Front entrance trash can was full & overflowing as were trash cans in the elevator lobbies of upper floors. Filthiest elevator floor we have encountered at any hotel. Floors throughout the lobby were visibly dirty & management does not remember when the entrances to the rooms were last cleaned. Bathroom floors similarly dirty. Entered the 1st room we were assigned & it was still dirty from the prior guest. Beds in the 2nd room had been made, but the bathroom counter remained a mess from prior guests as was the coffee station. All 3 bottles attached to the shower stall wall were empty & appeared to have been empty for some time. Breakfast was merely an afterthought. At 9:00 at least 1/4 of the food trays & bowls were totally empty & did not appear to have ever been filled. A few cartons of milk on 1 shelf & plenty of yogurt. Neither the sausage or eggs were warm & appeared to have been around for some time. Decaf coffee was empty & the regular coffee provided 2 cool cups before it was empty. We asked about a refill but no one seemed eager to provide it & when we checked out 45 minutes later the coffee pots were still empty. Stayed at another nearby HIE the next night & recounted our experience & was told that guests had called from the Rockport hotel the previous day to see if they had rooms at their property, because they had waited in the Rockport hotel lobby for over 30 minutes & not found anyone at the front desk to check in. This seems to sum up the management problems at this property & the lack of focus on housekeeping. Previously satisfied with this hotel but would definitely NOT return. See attached photos.

I required a bathtub seat for amputee family member. This Holiday Inn website clearly states “ a bathtub seat will be provided.” I discovered at the last minute that THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SUCH BATHTUB SEATS. When I asked - how was the amputee supposed to take a bath?, I was told “I don’t know”. Consequently I had to cancel & was charged $126 cancellation fee. *********** has stayed in touch with me - they have repeatedly requested Holiday Inn to waive/refund my $126 due to fraudulent advertising on their website. I did forward a picture of the site to *********** stating bathtub seats would be provided. To top it off, Holiday Inn confirmed my reservation including a picture of the room…..which was a disability shower with fold down seat & safety bars!!!! All fake picture.!!! ! We were forced to stay at another hotel in Rockport that DID offer a shower chair & didn’t lie about it!

Very disappointed by the lack of guest relations! David is an arrogant person. Here’s my story. We booked 3 rooms which consisted of myself (36 yr old mom) with my four teenagers, 36 year old mom with 3 kids and her 39 yr old sister, and 38 yr old mom with her three daughters ,son in law(18yrs old ) and 1 month grand baby! We made our reservations last week for check in 8/1/22 check out 8/2/22. We drove 3 and half hours to Rockport for our last getaway before the kids go back to school. We walked in at 11am met the manger Chris he allowed us to change since obviously our rooms were not ready. So we preceded to the beach til about 3:30pm. Check in time is 3pm. Our rooms were not ready! David told us he didn’t know when they would be ready. We can make complaint next morning at 9 am. He then said we couldn’t have 3rd room because Nathan is 18 must be 21! It’s the law?! I said ok put my name on the room David said no he could not because we booked with Priceline. So I called Priceline they said as long as they speak with him they could change it. He kept letting it go to voicemail. Said it’s a blocked number! Lied to our faces saying the phone didn’t ring (we were standing there telling him to answer the phone)! David preceded to tell us no that he would not answer the phone! I told him to call the manager, he said no he could not because he was on the freeway. I asked a maid she said she would contact her! Idk why he acted this way! So yes at this time I become loud with him we are hot, tired, we just want to shower and have some fun! David calls the police. He lied to their faces! I was still on the phone with Priceline officers were even telling him to answer the phone. He said he couldn’t! So the officer picks up the phone and answers it then hands to David! David says I don’t know what y’all are talking about and hangs up the phone! Oh at this moment I am livid! Officer tells me we are just going to have to find another hotel. Thankfully Fairfield Marriott had openings $160 each times 3 rooms! Been on the phone all day trying to get my refund from Holiday Inn. I called Chris the manager at Holiday inn he said that David told him during pass down, that we were about to start a riot that we were all under 18 and could not give us the rooms! 4 of us are shy of 40 years old! Chris then tells me that David said we were about to start a riot! Mind you besides us there were like 15 other families trying to get rooms(that weren’t ready shortly before 5pm) I asked Chris to review the tapes you will see we are very nice and never got loud with him until he said we weren’t getting rooms. I’ve been on the phone all day trying to get my $450 plus back to no avail did make a formal complaint with IHG corporate in reguards to this situation! Completely stressful 1st getaway with just moms and our kids! That’s stressful enough but to be treated like this is absolutely disgusting way to take advantage of a group of women who just want a family fun trip!

Absolutely appalled at the treatment we received at this IHG property in Rockport. I lost my identification on the way there. My wallet was stolen and luckily I had my credit card in my back pocket. I had a picture of my ID however the receptionist would not allow it. I booked my trip through a discount program through my employer and they booked through Priceline. When I asked the receptionist if I could add my husbands name to the reservation he said no, that I had to call Priceline. When I called Priceline I was unable to access the reservation because my employers number and email was used and Priceline was not able to verify my identity because I did not have this information. My employer was not available for assistance since I was checking in on Sunday. I spent over 50 minutes on the phone with Priceline and even though they would not access my account, they did call the hotel (which I was present for and heard the conversation) and ask the hotel if they would allow me to add my husband so that I could check in. The hotel declined even at the request of Priceline. The representative at Priceline got back on the line with me and told me that they apologized but that it was the hotels discretion and that they declined. I had to pay full price on top of what I had already paid. In addition, I had previously called IHG reservation phone number (this was before I booked) to ensure dogs were allowed. I was told yes but nothing else. When I got there, I was charged an additional $115 for our dog. I ended up paying $555.70 for 2 nights plus IHG is charging me an additional $65. When I spoke to Rachel at the hotel she said it “might be for incidentals” and it “should” be refunded. The worst part is that the reason why we took this trip was because our dog had cancer and we were spending the weekend with him because he was being put to sleep the day we checked out, 6/7/22. This was the worst and most heartbreaking experience. I am so disappointed and will never stay at this property again. The receptionist do not care about people and were totally unsympathetic to this situation.
