I found The Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester Downtown to be a real surprise. There were a number of exceptional variables that made it such a phenomenal place to stay. In accurately depicting them, I’ll go in ascending order. The newness and freshness of the hotel is obvious but, by nature, is fleeting. I’m assuming, as a result of the remaining factors in this review, that look and feeling will be maintained for many years to come. The designing of the hotel, from the rooms, the lobby, to all the amenities, impressive restaurant, the colors chosen in the design of each are beautiful. Brand new washer and dryer for clothes are provided and extremely reasonably priced. The laundry detergent was supplied free of charge by the hotel. Like everything else at this hotel, it was made easy, convenient, and comfortable. Little things and big things all hold weight in making this Hampton Inn exceptional. The restaurant, Lila’s is really wonderful. The menu is limited - but everything on it is outstanding. The decor in Lila’s is modern, has clean lines, and brings the outdoors in. The complimentary breakfast was great and perfectly accommodating everyday. The cleanliness, service, and accommodating approach was impeccable. Every person (in all positions throughout this hotel) demonstrated stellar performance and as a brilliant, solidified team. The housekeeping staff were friendly, polite, and extremely efficient. Parking was easy, free, and very convenient. The ascending order mentioned at the top of the review culminates in the hotel’s management. Two individuals, in particular, left a strong impression. I asked them for their business cards so I could write this review intelligently. First, the Guest Services Manager was in charge when we checked in. His name is Tanner Snelling. His personality, and the way he speaks to hotel guests, makes customers feel like they chose the proper hotel. He makes people feel comfortable. I noticed that as he was waiting on others before me while waiting in line. He gave us that same quality when our turn came. His knowledge of product (information regarding the hotel’s attributes, and the current surroundings available in Rochester) was beyond helpful. He’s remarkably informed. That made our stay infinitely better. Tanner’s genuineness, and his obviously likable nature, was a perfect match to the overall class of the hotel. His candid professionalism was a clear result of an intelligent person, using his years of experience, to accommodate people. He expressed pride in his job and in the company he works for. Tanner Snelling’s employers, and their clientele, are the winners for hiring him. Kevin Rosdahl, the General Manager, was also very personable and informative. It’s was quickly obvious that he was also a career professional with a reservoir of knowledge. He also knew a great deal about what Rochester had to offer regarding food and places to go. His ability to run the hotel was apparent in his confidence
