I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect, from the comfortable rooms to the friendly staff. We were even able to check into our room earlier than expected, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great experience!

I stayed in the hotel for the commitment I had because it was close. As it was one night only, I chose to book. The room was very dirty, sabble paper open in the pier, all dirty. 2 towels, 1 was acceptable and the other was completely swept and damaged. I put it on the floor because I had no courage to use it. The bed is horrible and noisy, and the dressers too. Have you seen a short shirt? Yes, it was so much to cover up to half the body and thinnerly impossible. I had nothing but that shirt to cover. Summary: I didn't sleep anything, super discomfortable. It's all about all the rooms, bad clothing. Coffee is half mouth, but in any case I've seen worse. The only positive point is that the reception official called ”D”. When we arrived at the hotel, we were surprised by the information that the system was out of the air and would take a little, then the same offered us 2 courtesy drinks for the event. The only thing I liked at the hotel, but you're only reserved in the last case if you don't want to get angry.

Well located hotel. We were upgraded to a sea view room facing the sea. We should have had a side sea view. Only shame was that we had the antennas located on the roof of the building in front of the room's balcony. We nevertheless had a view of Rio (Botafogo), the Pao d Acucar, the beaches of Niterói, we were close to MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art)
After a very hot day, we really enjoyed the heated swimming pool with a jacuzzi.
Breakfast was very good.
I recommend this hotel.

We were given the worst room in the hotel to start with. No window, small double bed… after we complained they moved us to a slightly better room but on the first floor with a window overlooking a car park... There were various issues throughout our stay, such as, the inconvenience of moving rooms, carrying our heavy luggage around. Also, we asked to add one extra day (a 5th day) to our booking. But on the 4th day the key card stopped working because it had not processed through their system that our stay had been extended so we could not get enter our room. So that was another trip downstairs to join the reception queue to try sort it… The breakfast was good, there was a selection of 4 natural fruit juices and the food never ran out and was always fresh. The swimming pool was small and they had a 1 hour slot booking system if you wanted to use it. The pool was crowded; there were people drinking beer in the pool and the water was a bit dirty and too warm. There weren’t enough sun loungers for everyone despite the booking system. They give you beach towels but make sure you know you will be charged if the towel is not returned to them. Checking out was a problem too. Our Uber was almost there to collect us and the hotel staff said they needed to check our room before we could leave, to see if we had consumed anything from the fridge in the room. I paid for the outstanding charges and I told them we hadn’t consumed anything and any issues please call, and I left. She gave me a look as I was leaving as if I was doing something wrong. Finally, I am still waiting for the reimbursement of the deposit I had to pay (500 reais) at check in - it’s now been 3 weeks. While we were there, I heard a couple at reception complaining about their car - the car park at the hotel was apparently full and the owner did not want his car to be parked elsewhere. Oh and lastly: I would say good evening to staff at the front door every time I walked past and NOT ONCE was I greeted in return.

Excellent staff. Mobile: old, with little maintenance. Time of replacement. nice: on the head of bed there were the beads of light, i.e. when you wanted to sleep with the coat you took the light without wishing. My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 10 days for our honeymoon after receiving a recommendation from a friend. When we first arrived we were disappointed because the room had not been cleaned adequately (dirty carpet, stains and dead bugs in the bathroom) and despite informing the hotel we were coming for our honeymoon we didn’t receive any special welcome, for example a note or message from the hotel or chocolate gift as we saw others receive on Instagram. We complained to the reception about the cleanliness and the next morning the room was cleaned to our expectations, we were happy with how the complaint was handled. The hotel room we were given was an ocean view on the 10th floor. The view was amazing and we loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. However we feel that for the price and star rating of the hotel, the rooms need to be refurbished, the room feels dated and the bathroom finishings are not befitting of the hotel we expected from the pictures; messy paintwork and grouting, broken wooden furniture, poor quality shower and at one point there was no hot water so our first night was cold showers. We have stayed in lower and similarly priced and rated hotels and the quality of the room and bathrooms were better than this hotel. We used the tennis courts and gym during our stay which was a nice option. We both had the tropical Spa experience which was a wonderful and relaxing experience and the Spa staff were great. We chose the all inclusive option at the hotel and we were not disappointed with the selections available and the high quality of food on offer from the restaurants. The service from the staff at the restaurants was wonderful. The location of the hotel is excellent, after exploring the area we determined it has the best location of all the hotels in Ipanema / Leblon / Copacabana, because of the direct beach access to a “private” beach. Halfway through the stay we received a note in our room to say there was a problem with the pre payment and amount of consumption. We were very surprised because we had the all inclusive option and had not taken anything not included. We called the reception to inquire about the problem and the person was not able to explain what was the problem. (My wife is Brazilian so language was not the problem). We had to go down to the reception to speak with someone else, where we were told that the pre payment taken by the hotel was not enough to cover the cost of our stay (10 days) and so an additional payment was needed. The hotel knew we were staying for 10 days and should have known the total cost of our stay (excluding extras not included Ina lol inclusive), and taken the payment up front, rather than send us an ambiguously and informally written letter, halfway through the stay which the staff could not explain on the Phone. This was an annoying inconvenience and not a nice experience which the hotel could have very easily avoided. To be 5 stars and for us to consi

I stayed here where my flight from Lisbon to Belo Horizonte was diverted to Rio de Janeiro due to the airport being closed due to the bad weather. So it was the airline TAP Portugal which arranged (and paid for) my stay here. And I really enjoyed it. The reception staff was really friendly, welcoming and helpful. My room had a nice view of mainly the hotel in front but also of the beach. It was clean, the beds were comfortable so just 10/10

Excellent
CColin HThis is one of the best IBIS hotels I have stayed in. It’s in a great position - just 100m from the Copacabana seafront and less from the nearest metro station. Beds are super comfy and showers fab. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the side of the hotel. The view is nothing but its super quiet as it’s away from the road. There is a safe in each room. Staff are smiley and helpful. Breakfast is super yummy with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt and the usual items. If you like English tea, however, bring your own tea bags as “tea” as we know it doesn’t seem to exist in Brazil. On the corner of the block, there is a 24hr cafe that serves great coffee. The area seems safe at night. The hotel also offers bike hire.
We stayed here the 2nd time after 12 years. Picked a similar room as we had 1st time: ocean view king suite. It is a bit more expensive than their cheapest rooms, but EXCELLENT value for money. We had room on the 12th floor directly overlooking the waves with two windows. As the hotel and beach is to the south, you get BOTH sunrise and sunset view from your room...see photos attached:) Room is good size, reasonably fresh with only a bit of age and spots here and there. Cleaning is ok, and hotel is in excellent safe area with direct beach access. We much prefer Barra da Tijuca anyway, against the overhyped and crowded, expensive copacabana. But each to his own. Hotel itself (lobby etc) is nice, staff is great, restaurant has very good food. The cocktails of their bar at ground floor as well as by the pool are excellent quality and cheap (as usual in Brazil). HOWEVER... a big however... After booking directly via their ”secure” website, via Amex card, my card details were either sold or re-used by somebody at the hotel staff, as BEFORE our actual trip began, it started being used at various (online?) shops in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and even in Madrid. I had already a 600 euro hit (in some 10 different fraudulous shoppings) before i realized and blocked it. Lucky with Amex's good insurance policy i did not lose money directly on this, nevertheless i ended up with no Amex card on my 2-weeks Brazil trip as oi didnt have the new one yet, and in general it gave a bitter taste to this stay. Because of this i have to reduce the rating. So a word of advice: Book this hotel with confidence, BUT book it via a well-known room broker website, NOT directly thru the Windsor website!
NNickGodliman60We live near Rio, if we are going out for a night in Rio or taking Friends out this is where we stay! We book two rooms, One for us one for the nanny and children ! Spend the day by the beautiful pool, then walk the 5 minutes to the centre of Lapa in the evening! Its a fairly ”adult” hotel, but its suits us because of the location and the babies love the pool ! I would recommend staying here one or two nights to experience the nightlife, Spanish steps and the local vibe ! Breakfast is good but the ”oasis” factor is the big deal ! Downsides, checkin can be slow, but they promise me they are working on that, and for the price which is an absolute bargain most of the time makes this a no brainer ! The rooms by the pool are perfect and worth the little extra, the staff are great! I stay here once a month and cant recommend it highly enough ! Of course you get what you pay for, there is no parking, and it can get busy, but as someone who stays in hotels a lot, I recommend this as literally an oasis in the centre of the party district ! And its great value for money !
Wonderful staff who allowed us to have a later check out for our flight. Super comfortable and lovely rooms. Swimming pool was lovely with the hot sun and the showers were amazing. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night but the staff were really helpful and sorted it quickly and efficiently.
Excellent stay at the Novotel RJ Santos Dumont. The hotel staff was great. Very friendly, efficient, and professional. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The fitness center was well-equipped and available 24/7. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel. As the name implies, the hotel is convenient for Santos Dumont Airport. It is a fairly easy 5 minute walk from the hotel, mainly on a pedestrian bridge above a busy road. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the Rio Metro. The only negative, and not the hotel's fault, is that this part of Rio has a problem with homelessness and is fairly deserted after dark and on weekends. So, it might not be the best area to walk around at night. Again, not the hotel's fault, and it does have good security, but certainly a part of your stay.
EEjam03Even before I enter the hotel they stop me to check my temperature. Distant check in is the norm at this hotel which, was great to see. Hand sanitizer throughout the hotel. The staff was cleaning consistently. At breakfast everything was wrapped in plastic on the table. The waiters brought a tray of food all wrapped in plastic from which to choose from. The selection was great. And the service was outstanding. The front desk staff was very helpful.
RRicardoHotel meets the basic requirements, but it is very well located, staff are very attentive, cleanliness is ok, I didn't use the pool, but it was very clean, the view from up there is beautiful.
GGuest UserThis is a very nice location in a very safe part of Rio. We have only been to this area for the Rock in Rio Festivals. It’s not the best situated for the tourist attractions of Rio but it is far safer than closer in to the city. Walking around the beach at night and visiting restaurants and bars is perfectly fine. The staff here are friendly and it is a clean and tidy hotel. The only bad point is the very slow checking in and out process at the front desk. The beach bar directly in front of the hotel is very nice and worth a visit. There are a lot of facilities around the hotel itself including shops, cafes, restaurants and a hair dresser. The whole setting is much nicer than the areas of Copacabana as there are a lot less gym boys and people with Botox bodies although there are still some. The beach is busy during the day but is nearly empty come sunset. Getting a taxi outside is very easy and all are the official yellow ones.
CCristiane VieiraThe counter attendants are very friendly and the breakfast is good but the corridors are dark, there is no minibar, there is no rug in the bathroom, 2 tiny towels and no face towel. The room smelled of cigarettes. Parking costs 57 reais per day.
