We went there on a whim and were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. A rustic and warm atmosphere that we love. The room is basic, functional but largely adequate. Having a restaurant was great. The dishes were really very good. Breakfast is more than enough for all tastes. The cold cuts come from the butcher and were very good. Finally, the service was really nice, the staff welcoming. There are a few walking points nearby which we enjoyed a lot more. Thank you very much ☺️

Beautiful setting with views of the lake and friendly cheerful service. We stopped here for tea during the walk around the lake.. The best cheesecake we have had in a long while. Shame that the views were slightly spoilt by the caravans towards the right of the hotel. Lush otherwise.

Avoid...if you can! We visited as part of a group on a Leger tour. The hotel is dated and shabby. If you are put in the annexe, you will have to find your way down a corridor, passed the kitchen and across an uneven, badly lit area to get there. Once there, it stinks of smoke and is dated and dangerous! Underneath the bedrooms is a seedy bar for the locals who are far from welcoming and make you feel that uncomfortable that you leave. Smoking is allowed and not just cigarettes!! Anyone in the bar can have access to the bedrooms and the door locks weren't the most secure so you don't feel very safe! The room was dated, smelled of smoke and the balcony was extremely dangerous...a nasty accident waiting to happen! I think Leger need to stop sending their tours there as it really isn't up to the standard you expect on a Luxuria tour!

Visit as part of Ledgers Bavarian Winter Wonderland tour. This hotel is a family run typical German Hotel. The room was clean, basic but in need of being updated (70 ish). It should be noted there is no kettle/tea making facilities. The breakfast was a good buffet but the water for making tea was not hot enough. Dinners were also good but lacked an option for vegetarians or those that do not like pork etc. It should be noted that in Bavaria outside the major cities/towns most people are on holiday from mid January to mid March so that a great number of shops, restaurants and cafes are closed. This makes it difficult to find somewhere to get a drink/meal or get warm.

This was a ledger coach holiday and this was the hotel of choice . I wouldn’t say it was dirty but very dated . No kettles in room so tea coffee was at breakfast and cold , no choice on main meal so if your vegetarian it’s pasta veg or chips . Most nights we couldn’t sit in the bar , we had to go to the dining area not very cosy at all . But the worst experience having all gone out on an OPTIONAL excursion we came back to a locked up hotel and nowhere open in the town to get a hot drink . In fact the first 2 days of the holiday everywhere we went it was shut hence the title of my review . It hasn’t put us off ledger holidays but will def research the hotels they use .

We went with Leger just before Xmas 22 they called it. 3 star but not even one star. The rooms were like something out the 60’s . Facing our room was a church and the bells chimed for 24 hours a day on every 15 minutes. We were told it had a bar but were told we couldn’t use it so every evening after diner ( if you could call it that!) what was there to do but go to bed at 8.30 great. The hotel was filthy and the people running it looked like gypsies even the owner who dressed in a tee shirt and track suit bottoms which he had on for 4 days. There was dirt on the floor near our dining table and it was there for the 4 days we were there. Outside you had to walk into the hotel from the annex past dirty outside tables with full ashtray’s which weren’t emptied in the time we were there. We complained to Leger but they didn’t want to know never go with them again as they couldn’t give a monkey’s

We ordered and paid for drinks at the counter! The person then served other customers. When we dared: "Sorry, we haven't gotten our drinks yet..." Then we were shouted at very rudely: "Don't you see that I'm working!" A second waitress noticed the impossible behavior and then gave us the drinks - after the first waitress devoted herself to other customers!?

1st time I've given a star... Greasy cuisine without flavor, very average hygiene. The spaghetti was bathed in poor quality oil, Unpleasant boss. We didn't sleep there, fortunately. To be avoided.

We stayed three nights in the annex building in a quiet room at the back. Well, clean was different, I had to wash my slippers at home afterwards, there was so much dust stuck to the sole... and the room was never cleaned during this time... I've never experienced that anywhere. The ventilation in the bathroom was broken. At least the mattresses were good. The entire hotel complex has seen its best years… everything is old and a bit run down. The beer garden was cozy despite being on the main street. The service was very friendly, the breakfast was sufficient. One evening we also ate at the hotel. If you like spaghetti floating in oil, this is the place for you. You almost had to pull the information out of the hotel manager's nose when taking over the room. If you get a room in the main building on the parking lot side, you have the smell of billy goat included... Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore, but the two hikes directly from the hotel were very nice. We will go back to our previous hotel in a different area of the pretty Black Forest. It's a shame there isn't a better look at this hotel complex.
