First, the positive: The house is of a lovely architecture, well maintained, spotlessly clean, and located on beautiful grounds. There is ample free parking - always a plus in France. The negative: My husband and I booked a triple room because we weren't sure we'd get a good night sleep in a queen sized bed and wanted the option of an additional twin sized one. However, the owner took it upon her to "upgrade" us to a room with a single queen bed without asking for our permission first. We got to the fully booked hotel with no other choice but to agree to the new arrangement. I did not like that one bit. She offered to move us into the triple the following day, but we didn't want the hassle. I didn't care for the owners (or managers, whatever they were), especially her husband, who looked utterly bored with his job. He was barely pleasant, unlike the hosts at the numerous hotels and B and Bs we've been to in France. I will never go back, that's for sure.
