I arrived at 6 p.m. to check in, only to find all the doors to the hotel locked. Regina is not East L.A.—FFS. I buzzed the lobby door for about 10 minutes, but no one came. Finally, another guest used their key card to let me in.
When I checked in, I asked to pay by debit but agreed they could use my credit card for the security deposit. Since I travel two weeks a month, I do this to keep my credit card clear. They assured me I could pay by debit when I checked out.
When I woke up the next morning, I discovered they had charged my credit card the full amount.
Then, when I went to take a shower, the water was lukewarm at best. I let the tap run on full hot for 10 minutes, but it never warmed up.
When I asked the front desk why my credit card had been charged despite our agreement, they just gave me a blank stare.
My work/travel life is too much to deal with this kind of things. Sorry, but I won’t be coming back.
