Te Mao

📍 BP 143 Avatoru Rangiroa Atoll, Rangiroa
★★★ 7.0 (3 reviews)

"A nice basic place to stay in a quiet, convenient area. This lodging is only a few minutes from the airport, useful for withdrawing cash at the only ATM. Also, a few minutes bike ride to a small store to get basic supplies. There is a small restaurant opposite this store too. The room is simple, clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. There was a kettle and fridge. There is a garden also with two seating areas. Some of the rooms have a patio with seating. I didn't have one of these. You may need to request one. The women working there doing the greeting, key delivery and house keeping were pleasant, essentially French speaking, we spoke in French. There are bicycles available with an extra charge. These are very useful for getting around the island. Rangiroa is a very simple island. The way of life is at a much slower pace with a very laid back attitude. This is reflected in Te Mao."

"This is a lovely place to stay. I was on Rangiroa for five nights, three is enough. Moana Breeze comes with a car and a quick drive around is interesting. There’s only a pizza place to eat in the evening but to be honest Paolo is a really good cook and I would recommend eating in."

📍 BP356, Rangiroa
★★★ 9.2 (38 reviews)

"I spent 6 nights in the private room with private bath/toilet facing the yard. Very clean everywhere, sheets and towels were changed halfway through my stay. As this is summer now, and temperatures are up, Cinthia provided me with an extra fan. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The landlady, Cinthia, goes out of her way to make sure that everybody feels well and wellcome."

Aotera Guest House

Aotera Guest House

📍 BP143 Pension Aotera, Rangiroa
★★★ 7.5 (10 reviews)

"The rooms are small, dirty and full of bugs. There is no hot water and the taps are caked and dirty. The glass entrance door does not lock from the outside so you cannot leave objects in the room because anyone can enter. There is not even a wardrobe in the room."

Le Coconut Lodge ★★★
"The Coconut Lodge is a top ‘pension’ (bed and breakfast) in Rangiroa. What not to like?! - The size of the property with only 6 rooms, which makes the small hotel private and cozy. We felt like having the place almost just for us; yet we got to meet and dine with everyone. - The fantastic location with a lovely swimming spot right in front of the property (rare in Rangiroa) - The closeness to Tiputa village, 6 Passengers diving center and the Kia Ora hotel - The free bikes, kayaks and paddle boards - The beautiful rooms (we had a beach and a garden rooms) with air conditioning, super comfortable beds with mosquito nets, big windows and a fridge, as well as a great patio. - The friendly and professional staff. Audrey was a wonderful, kind and helpful host/manager We biked to go to lunch at Lilly in Tiputa, at Snack Rua near Avatoru, and at Kia Ora almost next door. We highly recommend Lilly and Snack Rua (specialized in lagoon fish - they also deliver for a small fee). We really enjoyed our 3 nights at the Coconut Lodge and would return in a heartbeat!"

Superb bedding, magical cleanliness, perfect hot water and water pressure. The bungalow space is great, it is fully equipped. Thank you Rosie for your efficiency and your efforts to make us satisfied. There is so much to discover about this guesthouse that I recommend it to you."

Aotera Guest House ★★★
"Disgusting food, rats in the restaurant during dinner, bed bugs, very dirty place, the food is not hygiene and awful bad quality. Owners don’t have any hospitality or kindness. I really don’t understand why the owners run a guesthouse. They seem not be interested in their customers. Is there any quality enforcement or inspection of official third parties of this place?"
