"The royals of the past used to have retreats in the mountains. This place feels like one of those villas. It's in the woods and high up on famous Mount Etna and located in a large wooded forest of chestnut trees, where there is a trail for quiet walking. The property is tastefully furnished with art and rustic furniture. The staff is charming and then there is THE FOOD! (I forgot to say that there is a pool and lots of grounds to sit and read or relax in the sunshine. I wish I could have stayed there for many more days! GO!"

"Not a great experience. We had two rooms. My teens room had a strange window from the shower to the bedroom. So they had to take turns leaving the room when the other showered. Ours had a leak from the window, the shower flooded the bathroom everyone you used it. No functionality in the room- just weird design over function: no bedside lights but instead two spotlights snaking over one side of the bed. No shelf in the bathroom to put you toiletries. The only hotel in Sicily that we weren’t given drinking water. The rooms were boiling, properly sizzling. As the heating was on hotel and couldn’t be switched off. Ultimately we could cope with all of that but the receptionist attitude when we mentioned all of the above was really not great. He really couldn’t care less. And don’t offer any solutions except to remove our duvet from the bed and for our kids to sleep with an external door open. This made us cancel our dinner reservation and take our money elsewhere. However the guy in the breakfast room was very nice, friendly and helpful."

"It's pretty good. I recommend it for a holiday in the off-season. I may be dissatisfied with the same point as everyone else. In addition to breakfast, the hotel only has sandwiches for the other two meals. There is no other kitchen. The hotel environment is still good. The staff attitude is also good, and the breakfast pancake is delicious. Remind you to have a car, otherwise it is difficult to get there."

"We were supposed to stay at the Esperia Palace hotel for 4 nights, but we left after 2 nights. The room assigned to us was spacious, with a nice balcony and an equally comfortable bathroom. Unfortunately this is the only positive note; for the rest nothing that could remotely correspond to a 5 star hotel: dirty sinks, dust everywhere, dirty carpet in the corridors; only one pillow per person and extremely uncomfortable; the beds were equally uncomfortable; poorly maintained (not to mention abandoned) outdoor spaces, the large pool with fountain on the terrace adjacent to the hall is out of order and covered with a tarpaulin; bar service practically non-existent so if you want to eat something during the day you have to go to the town (about 900 m away); Less than mediocre buffet breakfast. The receptionists to whom we complained were friendly, but they were not in a position to remedy the situation in any way and the total absence of a manager to turn to was noticeable. Of course we did not receive any refund for the two nights which we did not use and which we had paid for in advance upon arrival. "
