I am happy to report that the previous reviews didn’t let me down. This is a modern fresh hotel, if you are looking for a “western” experience Then you will be comfortable staying here. The lobby is a nicely appointed, cool place to hang out with friends. In the afternoon you have complementary water & fruit along with coffee. The staff is friendly and eager to help you with your needs. Our room was large, modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was new, the mattress was comfortable, the climate control worked perfectly and was not noisy. The bathroom was clean, modern, and in our room anyway- separation between sink and toilette, which was nice. Breakfast was awesome, this was important for us, and I heavily relied on the reviews hoping for accuracy: they were correct. Plenty to choose from, from fresh fruit to hot food to pastries to olives and cheese to yogurt with oats/nuts to freshly prepared juices like carrot and kiwi ….really something for everyone. We were happy with our stay! We would be happy to return to this property again when we are back in Quito. --- Tips: 1) Supermaxi Supermarket next block over, they carry many imported items that you may find very useful during your stay in Quito. We bought our bottled water for our day trips and wine/beer for the evening, super convenient and I am grateful it was so close! 2) We ate at the Italian restaurant “Briciola” twice, it too is right around the block. Even though my home city in Italy is over 10,000km away; I was happy to have this in the neighborhood.

When you book, check out the Cathedral of Quito 3 km. It is actually very tired for 100 minutes of walking up and down the mountain road, especially when you go to the old city to eat and watch the night scene. After that, every day around the Old Town Square, a taxi back to the hotel for 4-5 to 5 dollars is also a small expense. In addition, when it rains outside the third day, the room window leaks!

The service is relatively poor. When you check in, you need to issue a unified invoice for the communication of meals, and it will not be approved when you leave the store. Commitment to communicate with the manager to reply to the request by email, and there will be no more reply as a result. No credit, average meals.
Meals are paid separately, and invoices are not uniformly invoiced in the lobby.

Should still be a good hotel option in this area. Personally, I think the price/performance ratio is average. The advantage is that the location of the hotel is good, and the facilities are relatively old, but they are also clean.

We stayed here in late June after our plans to stay in Old Town were scuttled by Quito general strike and demonstrations. We found the hotel to be closer to a regular Holiday Inn rather than a Holiday Inn Express. The room and bathroom were a comfortable size. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom layoutBreakfast spread was kept hot and fresh and featured egges etc and Ecuadorian items. For the early birds there was a cart with coffee and a few breakfast snacks to tide one over till breakfast area opened. The area has a few local restaurants and a couple of restaurants next door. Many things were closed due to the general strike. But the area is a generally pleasant area with Quito's Carolina Park and Artisinal market with an 20 minutes or so walk. The telefrico a short cab ride away. The gym is on a top floor and one could use the equipment while enjoying the skyline views of quito. A nice way to enjoy a workout. Perhaps the best reason to stay here, however, is the staff. Breakfast area staff went out of their way to be helpful and get our day started on a high note. Front desk staff answered questions about the limited options available to guests due to the situation in Quito with honesty and professionalism and helpful advice. Special recognition for Maria at the front desk and German of the concierge staff for their assistance with friendliness and courtesy and above all understanding of the situation in Quito with the requirements of thir tourist guest. Not necessarily an easy task to balance but they did the job and balanced the various things in a marvelously guest friendly way and not skipping a beat in being helpful and effectively communicating with great command of English. Thanks for a good stay in difficult circumstances.

We are leaving for other parts of the country today but really enjoyed my 4 nights here. Mainly local business people - I didn't see any tourists at hotel. But very comfortable - rooms are small but good wifi, lots of outlets, and plenty of hot water. Located about 1/2 hour taxi ride from Ciudad Historico and walking distance to Mariscal. Good breakfast provided each morning. Adrian at front desk was kind enough to get a driver for us for a couple of days to leave the city. They do have a small gym as well. I hope the next places we stay in Banos, Cuenca, and Guayaquil are as nice as this.

Fabulous in every way! The staff is fantastic from servers to reception to housekeeping. The rooms are very comfy and the breakfast is delicious! We were only there for a short pre cruise stay but I would go back in a heartbeat. We also had an amazing dinner in the South American restaurant. I will write a separate review

A great new hotel in Quito’s financial district, with plenty of great eateries around. The breakfast had something for everyone from cereal to toast, waffles to fruit. Staff were really attentive and always pleasant, polite and helpful. We chose this hotel as it had private underground parking, which was ideal and safe. My only criticism would be having to get the attention of someone to open the barriers to enter and leave. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend as an affordable stay in the city.

GGuest UserMy wife and I always stay overnight at the Wyndham when we arrive on a late flight to Quito after our travels. We live fairly close-by but we feel like we are extending our vacation for another night when we stay here. The hotel is beautiful and everyone we come into contact with is very nice and provides impeccable service.
GGuest UserI stayed here on a solo trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. My guide recommended Hotel Casa Gardenia and I am so glad that he did. It was a wonderful place to stay, well situated in the Historic Centre of Quito. I felt very safe wandering the area especially with the map the front end people gave me that showed where it was advisable to walk or not walk. The service was impeccable. I have celiac disease and they gave me options for the breakfast ,which I appreciated. My room was on the street side of the building and there was some street noise. However, I put my sound machine on and it was absolutely fine. I loved coming in at the end of the day and having a glass of wine in the sitting area, looking at the view. One little bonus, directly across the street was a laundromat. I was able to have all my cleaning done before departing back home.
Hotel was empty, super quiet, and very pretty. Comfortable beds. Lots of minor irritants make the stay unpleasant. If the hotel had more guests it would probably be loud - all windows open to the courtyard so you hear anyone talking there. The bathroom was designed by someone who doesn't use a bathroom. The counter overhangs the toilet so that the toilet lid cannot open all the way, it falls down if you try to open it, etc. The shower is cute, but to reach the valve you have to put yourself below the rain-type shower head. So you have to get sprayed by cold water to turn on the shower. These minor irritants degrade the experience and are not what one expects from a hotel that costs 2x other options. The included breakfast was awful. Scrambled eggs are more like an egg soup with some oil added. They had spaghetti with clams one morning that looked like leftovers from the night before - who eats that at 7am? Most of the bread baskets were empty, juices were empty. You'd think that no one was tending the buffet except there were 2-3 people standing around talking to each other. Again, perfectly reasonable for a hotel that costs $20/night. Not at all reasonable for a hotel that costs this much. Dinner was fine, but the menu is very limited and expensive for relatively simple food. Lots of waiters, not many guests. The dining area is set up in the open patio/courtyard which makes for a kind of weird experience of everyone being a little too close. One night there was a big table for a group that seemed to really enjoy itself - everyone else just watched and listened them as they dominated the room. The restaurant seems to cater to local events like family gatherings, which is great unless you are a hotel guest. All-in-all a nice-ish hotel that costs far more than it should. Clearly someone put some effort into the original remodel and since then the interest has waned. TV remote turns on the cable box but not the TV, you have to walk through the construction zone of the bar to get to your room, breakfast is gross, bathrooms were designed by aliens, etc, etc. There have got to be better options in this price class. Not sure why all these other reviews are so glowing. Perhaps first-time visitors to Ecuador who are just glad that they were not robbed?
GGuest UserAbsolute five-star praise, 15 minutes from the airport, 40 minutes from the city, the hotel will pick up and drop off the plane for free. The hotel is located in the suburbs and the surrounding environment is excellent. The garden in the hotel is a bird watching holy place with more than 30 kinds of rare birds. Hotel facilities are good, service is good, suitable for business travel, meetings.
GGuest UserMy husband kept raving about this hotel. Ignore any negative reviews you might spot here. Front desk staff were attentive and pretty fluent in English (although it’s presumptive to expect that wherever we travel). The hotel is on a quiet street for Quito and had double-glazed windows (unusual in this temperate climate) so it was super quiet. I got there at night and closed the heavy drapes; only in the morning did I discover there were blackout shades, too — a nice touch. Abundant hot water (not always a given in Ecuador) and a spacious room. This hotel felt very luxurious to us. The pool and workout area, which we did not have time to use, was amazingly well appointed. Breakfast buffet was pretty varied and phenomenal as well. We felt pretty spoiled staying here. When we were there the English Ambassador and his entourage were also staying there, so I think it’s considered to be a pretty good place.
AAlexia8218The hotel is very warm in this small family hotel where you feel like at home. Clean. Full breakfast. Clean serviettes every day. Equipment according to the description. Comfortable bedroom. WiFi works. Hotel in the heart of Mariscal neighborhood near Foch ... Very well located in this secure neighborhood. The manager couple is in small care with us and they will give you a full of good advice. I recommend.
GGuest UserThis charming hotel was supposed to be a one night stay for us after two weeks in the Galapagos- a final big night, New Year's Eve in Quito. Instead, we discovered on New Year's Day that our daughter had tested positive for Covid. We don't know what we would do have done had it not been for the compassion of owner Miguel, who refused to abandon us in our hour of need. He immediately arranged for a separate room with kitchenette for our daughter while my husband and I stayed in a separate room. We were all, including staff, extremely careful with regard to sanitary protocols, distancing and masking. The staff helped us with arranging for on-site local testing and other necessary arrangements. They helped us with cabs, arranging for take out dinners, and our room rate included a nourishing breakfast. We stayed for another 8 days until she tested negative and in addition received a Document of Recovery from a doctor. Convenient location allowed for easily walkable trips to the Quito marketplace, which was superb. The artful decor and plant filled patios and decks made this a charming stay. Huge shout out to Miguel, Carolina, Steven and the staff for being so gracious and kind to help us out during daughter's Covid!!
We needed a place by the airport for an overnight before flying out. The hotel arranged for a driver to pick us up which went perfectly. Very nice grounds with a pool we did not try. The room was clean, and comfortable. The manager answered all our questions on Google translate which I am now going to use. The next day we had breakfast, and left. Had to rush back to the hotel as we thought we left our passport and jacket. Found our passport deep in our luggage but we did leave the jacket at the hotel. They were so accommodating. Would stay here again. Saw a vermillion flycatcher at breakfast!
GGuest UserThere was a leak in my bathroom that almost ruined my personal cleaning items. The room they gave me was in front of the stairs and it was always noisy with people talking loud. The bottom of the toilet was disgusting. The person that welcomed me was the only one I cold day was efficient. I left the hotel this morning when I was supposed to leave tomorrow. That is how bad I felt there.
OoyaaaPaid airport shuttle per trip but they put someone else on difference flight/time together and let us wait/late 15mins without telling why. This is wrong. This problem should be fix easily by telling the day before and ask if we ok to wait another person. If pp miss the flight, i dont see this place will responsible for the air tickets and other costs. What if pp on biz class flight and miss the plane? Would hotel pay thousands dollars for customer?
Think about it and be Professional! Just use the Google translate and explain to customer before the day!!
Hot water got problem, half an hour to fixed.
