The Sentinel Residences

As recommended by my friend, we stayed here for almost a week as we’re going to some locations near Cubao during my vacation. We were assigned almost to the highest floor where we had an amazing view of the bustling city of the metro. I have no issue with the apartment, the room, toilet, and the facilities are great. If you’re staying, always take note of the timings with garbage disposals. There’s a 7-Eleven at the building’s entrance. It's really convenient to buy things and bring them to your room. The pool access has a limited number of people only. I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of our room but it was spacious.
Novotel Manila Araneta City Hotel

We had a pleasant 2-night stay at Novotel (room only, no breakfast). Service was excellent (they provided a cake for us to celebrate our anniversary, and we asked for late check out which they kindly accepted), The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good wifi connection if you need to work. The location is great with lots of cafes, restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The gym is open 24/7 (attended 6am-11pm) and there is a steam room but we didn’t use it. The gelato on 1F was pretty good! Couple of areas for improvement: - the walls were thin so we could hear people next door talking, or the shower adjacent to ours - our rainfall shower did not work and there is no shower door so the floor got a bit wet - there are not many amenities available - only body wash, shampoo, hand wash, body lotion, toothbrushes

Our two-night stay is a superb. We got to relaxed and enjoyed the pool. The staff are so accommodating (even until midnight). Comparing to other 5-star hotels in Manila, this hotel captured my heart so far. Thanks to Ms. Manpreet Singh and the staff. Great service! Also tried the Alejo restaurant of the hotel, the Rib-eye Steak is perfect. And the Inasal was unexpected too - again the dishes captured my heart. My two-day breakfast in this restaurant was extremely satisfying. I love the bacon and pastries! Got to enjoyed the food and brought a different experience here in Manila.

Where to begin to tell you what a waste of money this was... First they mix me up with someone who has the same sounding name telling me upon check-in that my reservation was only good till a certain date. Only after I showed them their email confirmation do they double check, and then have the nerve to tell me not to get upset. Next they only accept cash. What hotel accepts only cash and to pay upfront for the whole stay?? The place looks like a better version of a dorm. The sofa had a hole. The shower curtain was torn. Cleaning only happens upon request. Why? ”Kasi dalawa lang po kami.” The toilets smelled like a sewer (”imburnal”). And all they did after complaining was spray it with an air freshener. Internet worked 10% of the time and you're only given a Globe Home Wifi router upon request. Which was useless anyway because it didn't work most of the time. You had to pay for parking every time you parked. 50 pesos/day. 300/pesos overnight. Plus, as they said during check-in, only if space is available.
The Cocoon Boutique Hotel

Very good. I felt good on the first day. I changed to another hotel on the second day. It was incomparable with this one. I decided to choose this hotel again. The only inconvenience is that there is no drinking water on each floor. You need to ask the waiter to deliver it to the room. The service is good and the cost performance is high. It is worth recommending.
