Hampshire Holiday Parks – Queenstown Lakeview

A bit hard to find ..as not hampshire but lakeview so a bit confusing. Excellent spot right by the skyline so convenient..it was clean and tidy . Toilets and shower block were ok and staff in reception were very helpful. Its a great base for visiting queenstown would go again

CAMPSITE IS ABYSMAL. This is not a campsite, it’s a poorly run car park. Every single vehicle is more than crammed in, some people couldn’t even open their door, that’s how close it is. The car park is surrounded by metal building work fences with work going all around which completely spoils the view. The only toilets are far away and temporary portaloo type which were DISGUSTING, I complained to reception about this several times. None of the ovens worked, the hobs didn’t heat properly, so we couldn’t use the kitchen in our entire 5 night stay, and had to use our own van facilities (which defeats the point of a campsite). Shocking how they can even operate like this and have any business. Would not recommend at all. We stayed a night at Top 10 which is a little out of town but extremely better and worth it.

The location of the holiday park is amazing - a quick walk down the Brecon St steps and you're right in the heart of CBD. Our accommodation in the Tourist Flats was a mixed bag - the rooms are a good concept, but lack basic things like hooks for jackets/towels in the bathroom, a dishrack for doing dishes, and simple amenities like a box of tissues. Also our fridge was stuck on full and froze all our food. The internet was unusable for the four days we were there, which is a joke in 2024. You expect camp ground facilities to be basic, but at nearly $300 a night, it really doesn't represent great value for money anymore.

Great location. However the motel units are run down and dirty. They are not serviced at all during your stay. The beds are well used, the sofas had strange stains and the dishwashing brush had hair in it. The fridge was broken so everything froze. The walls are thin and not sound proof.

We stayed here on two separate occasions on our recent South Island trip - two nights in a "one bedroom flat" at the start of our trip and then one night in a "one bedroom studio". Pros: Great location, close to town with a short walk (albeit up a bit of a steep hill). One bedroom flat had a lovely small balcony that looked out over Queenstown and the Remarkables with a small table & chairs. Cons: Very uncomfortable beds in both units. Walk-in shower in the bathroom with exceedingly high water pressure meant that water went all over the bathroom floor during showers. Rooms had signs of general wear & tear (paint missing from walls, worn areas of carpet, bathroom vanity on a sloping angle) that could be fixed with a bit of TLC. Small couch in the one-bedroom flat oom was uncomfortable and useless with the dining table pushed hard up against it (no room for space in between the two anyway). No electrical plug in the bathroom in the one-bedroom studio (old-school 'shaver only' plug). Notice in the room said that guests were expected to wash their dishes before departure, or face a $25 fee - think this only encourages people to rinse their dishes without washing them properly, as the dishes all looked less-than-clean. The one-bedroom studio smelled like stinky shoes & the linen smelled bad as well. Unit was downstairs and the noise of people walking around in the unit above was really loud.
