Mildmay Arms

Popped over to meet my brother who was staying at the local caravan park so managed to book a night in the Mildmay arms, lovely welcome and much needed pint in the bar!. Checked in and made our way to our room. A very well appointed room, double bed, en suite, tv, coffee and tea making facilities … perfect for our needs plus a continental breakfast in the restaurant to soak up all the alcohol we had consumed the day before!. The food menu looked amazing but unfortunately we weren’t there long enough to sample. Would certainly recommend. The chuch bells often chimed but were very nice to hear 😃

We chose this as a base for a wedding weekend. The outside looked pleasant with a large seating area We were showed our room…there are three in total. It looked okay although the bedding looked cheap and un-ironed. However the temperature of the room was unbearable although to be fair it was extremely hot weather. We asked if there was a fan but no-one came back to us! The bathroom although refurbished was really dark so felt I had to keep the door open while I was in the shower. I used the sink and couldn’t get the plug out when I’d finished so mentioned it when I went to the bar. The barman looked at it but said it had broken the previous week and would we mind not using it while we were there and he’d get it mended after we left. The website offers full English breakfast but when we requested this we were told that they no longer did this as too much food was being wasted. The only breakfast on offer now is continental with cheap Lidl cereals and yogurt and half cooked cheap toasted bread. On Sunday after coming back from the wedding venue at about 5.30pm we encountered a crowded noisy outside space with heavy metal music blaring out. The landlord was passing at the time so I asked if the music was going to be that loud for long to which he replied ‘it’s a pub!’ He needs to be reminded it was a Sunday evening and also he had guests paying to stay there!!! We decided to leave early the next morning without breakfast and asked for the bill which we paid and left. When I checked the bill there were four drinks that I couldn’t identify and was really surprised to see that a pint of lime and soda was charged at £2.90..,,we live in London and the average price here is £1.60 We will not be returning!!!

Mildmay Arms Queen Camel Fish n chips Good Friday, so we stopped in the restaurant for fish and chips. First class service from the waitress Meal cooked to perfection and very tasty, good price with good beer Highly recomended

I recently booked a lunch for 20 people at the Mildmay Arms, Queen Camel. We had a whole room to ourselves, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the service was prompt, efficient and extremely friendly. The staff pulled out all the stops to make us welcome whilst also tending to the other customers. All the prior email correspondence concerning the pre-order was very efficiently dealt with. I would have no hesitation in returning to the Mildmay Arms and would thoroughly recommend it to others.
