Business rooms are perfect for those who take their kids out for a walk. The hotel is well managed. There is enough mineral water every day. In summer, you need to drink water. The small table at the elevator entrance is also full of mineral water, so that everyone can get what they need. If you forget to bring it when you go out or feel thirsty when you come back, you can solve it immediately.
The location of the hotel is also very good. There are Wanda and Zhuoyueli behind it, as well as Hema Supermarket. There is also MixC less than 2km away. It takes about 5km to take a taxi to the beach to dig sand. It is also very convenient to Qingdao Station and Qingdao North Station. Recommended!

Not wanting to cause trouble, I had no choice but to ask to change rooms the next day. The reason I didn't give it a 2 is because of the face of the girl at the front desk, who helped me move my luggage when I changed rooms, which was pretty good. I stayed in room 1020 on my first day. The bathroom water smelled very bad, the mattress sank (cannot be seen in photos) and my whole body ached after sleeping one night. The bedding was also very hygienic. The light switch is behind the bedside. You can't turn on the light without pulling on the bedside. The location where the bed is placed is too narrow. The distance between the bed and the wardrobe is about 35 centimeters, and the wardrobe door cannot be opened. Generally speaking, Qingdao hotels are not cost-effective, and the price is over 400.

GGuest UserQingdao Shangri-la's service needs major improvements, the level of negligence and sheer rudeness of staff was shocking and unfitting for a second tier city like Qingdao. We really expected better.
We stayed at the hotel for five nights in May. We arrived in the afternoon around 4pm -- way past the earliest time for check in, but were told by the staff that the room is not ready. They only allowed us to keep our luggage with the reception, and couldn't even tell us when the room will be ready again. What's worse -- we had to ask in order to get a slight upgrade. This is the worst service I've seen in a five-star hotel in China.
There's more. We visited the mediteranean restaurant in the hotel for a quick pre-dinner drink and snack, as we got a voucher with our stay. After we ordered drinks, a complimentary snack and some fries, the Chinese staff commented, ”You guys are eating very little”. That's quite unimaginable to me to be treated as such in an upscale venue like this. We didn't want to spend more at that restaurant, even though the quality of the food was fine.
Shangri-la, please train your Chinese staff and align them with your global standards. Guests deserve better.

Zebra Hotel pays attention to details and allows guests to enjoy the boutique hotel experience. No hotel is complete without a good restaurant, and zebra hotel is no exception. This restaurant provides Chinese and western breakfasts, lunches and diners. It has a good restaurant decorated with southwest style and a private Chinese restaurant that can be enjoyed. Although the restaurant's menu can satisfy any taste, the chef is also very flexible. For example, if you want to taste the best seafood in Qingdao, the chef is always at your service. At zebra Hotel, the owner of the hotel will ensure that everything meets your needs and provides an exclusive experience. Although zebra hotel may not be able to provide the same central location as other accommodation, its personalized service and state-of-the-art facilities make up for this deficiency. First and foremost, the receptionist displayed exceptional customer service. Our early morning arrival was met with a warm welcome and an unexpected early check-in. This considerate gesture allowed us to freshen up and kick-start our adventure, setting a positive tone for our stay.
During our visit, there was a minor hiccup with housekeeping - a misplaced pair of Nike Air Max shoes. Thankfully, the vigilant receptionist swiftly resolved the issue, locating and returning the missing item promptly. To make amends for the inconvenience, they went the extra mile, offering a small gift and complimentary breakfast coupons as a gesture of goodwill. Such attentiveness to guest needs is truly commendable.
While we chose to explore authentic local cuisine during our trip, bypassing hotel dining, I cannot provide feedback on the food quality or variety.
In terms of location, this hotel scores points for convenience. Taxis are readily available, and it took us just 30 minutes to reach the stunning Laoshan Mountain, a must-visit destination. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to a bustling night market right across the street adds to its appeal.
However, there's room for improvement, notably in the cleanliness department. The bathrooms, in particular, left much to be desired, with an unpleasant odour lingering during our stay. Broken equipment, such as the wardrobe, was also in need of repair. Furthermore, the electric kettle was not up to our cleanliness standards, discouraging its use.
In summary, this hotel offers excellent customer service, convenient access to transportation and local attractions, and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. However, attention to cleanliness and maintenance, especially in the bathrooms, is an area that could use some enhancement.

RRachelle MaeLocation is great because our intention was to be in the Laoshan District. Might not be easy if most of your plans are in the touristy areas such as the Tsingtao Brewery Museum. Anyway, there is Metro (underground subway) which helped us address that in case we wanted to have a look at downtown. The hotel is a 10 min walk from either Haiyou or Haichuan stations in Line 2.
We’re not so much of a fan of Chinese food for breakfast, so the free breakfast was not fascinating for us. They did have eggs and bread.
There is an elevator to help us carry or luggage all the way to our floors. And the room was neat and clean, and they clean it every time we’re out.

The front desk of the hotel said that there was a free coffee gift on the first night, and a glass of ice latte was really delicious! ! I asked the front desk to know that this was prepared by the hotel owner. The boss himself is also a coffee hobby. He uses the good beans that the boss drinks by himself. Like me like coffee to live must taste, better than star dad.
I am used to staying in a chain hotel. It is rare to encounter a hotel that makes me feel warm and cost-effective. It is worth my serious evaluation and worth recommending.
