I always stay at a Holiday Inn Express when I go to Qingdao. Because of a situation with the A/C system with the one downtown, I decided to try a different one. As always, the staff and facilities were welcoming and great. Breakfast was as expected. They still seem to not have switched on the cooling. I had the A/C blasting and the room was stuffy and uncomfortable. I appreciate the staff and their kindness, but will switch my allegiance to a different chain going forward.

Trip gives the impression this is a five star hotel. It's not. It is 4 star. It is also quite dated. It's not bad, but it's far from great. Again, Trip gives the impression that it much better than it is. It's quite a worn out place with rooms in desperate need of a makeover. It also lacks charm or a feel of sophistication. Just kink of bland, really. Also, you can really taste the savings at the breakfast buffet. Again, not bad, but really cheap and bland. The one stand out was the Chinese food I ordered for room service.

The hotel room is spacious and clean. It has a great location about 5 min walk to the train station and the beach. The service was super good, satisfying all the needs of customers. Besides a free good breakfast, they provided afternoon tea for both days even though we stayed only for one night. There is also a free upgrading of room for our next booking. The location is very good, very close to May Fourth Square, and I went for a walk after dinner! The breakfast was satisfactory and filled my stomach, but the dishes were simple and the same every day! The service was good and everything was handled in a timely manner! It is still okay to live in the city center at this price during the summer vacation!

The check in staff are so helpful n professional. Especially one lady she helped me to change a bigger bed due the first light I stay in 1.5 m bed I wish I could have a 1.8m wide.
All of them are so good n attentive
I also praise the room service maids as they are very friendly nice, always say hi whenever I meet them in the corridor.
Breakfast is good n the staff are very polite n hardworking as I notice there are only two staff on spot, but quite efficient
Nearby area are so picturesque n lots of open space n greenery garden, seaside promenades for running walking n biking. Real good place for vacation

I recently stayed at this Hotel, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in process. There is a cafe in the hotel, the coffee there is delicious, and there is also a restaurant, which is also delicious. The Ocean Hotpot we had, which costs 300 per person, is very fresh. GGuest UserQingdao Shangri-la's service needs major improvements, the level of negligence and sheer rudeness of staff was shocking and unfitting for a second tier city like Qingdao. We really expected better.
We stayed at the hotel for five nights in May. We arrived in the afternoon around 4pm -- way past the earliest time for check in, but were told by the staff that the room is not ready. They only allowed us to keep our luggage with the reception, and couldn't even tell us when the room will be ready again. What's worse -- we had to ask in order to get a slight upgrade. This is the worst service I've seen in a five-star hotel in China.
There's more. We visited the mediteranean restaurant in the hotel for a quick pre-dinner drink and snack, as we got a voucher with our stay. After we ordered drinks, a complimentary snack and some fries, the Chinese staff commented, ”You guys are eating very little”. That's quite unimaginable to me to be treated as such in an upscale venue like this. We didn't want to spend more at that restaurant, even though the quality of the food was fine.
Shangri-la, please train your Chinese staff and align them with your global standards. Guests deserve better.

In order to ensure perfect sleep, zebra hotel has the softest beds and mattresses to make your sleep unique and allow guests to relax in luxury. Almost every room has a spacious private washing machine, making you feel at home. These places provide a good place to stay and relax. Maybe you can taste the local Tsingtao beer at the same time! Zebra hotel also includes a fitness area (gym) and parking lot, which can accommodate 20 cars. In the peak season, the room rates range from 236 to 500 yuan. Zebra Hotel pays attention to details and allows guests to enjoy the boutique hotel experience. No hotel is complete without a good restaurant, and zebra hotel is no exception. This restaurant provides Chinese and western breakfasts, lunches and diners. It has a good restaurant decorated with southwest style and a private Chinese restaurant that can be enjoyed. Although the restaurant's menu can satisfy any taste, the chef is also very flexible. For example, if you want to taste the best seafood in Qingdao, the chef is always at your service. At zebra Hotel, the owner of the hotel will ensure that everything meets your needs and provides an exclusive experience. Although zebra hotel may not be able to provide the same central location as other accommodation, its personalized service and state-of-the-art facilities make up for this deficiency. The staff were very friendly and we had a good time. We look forward to staying there again.

First and foremost, the receptionist displayed exceptional customer service. Our early morning arrival was met with a warm welcome and an unexpected early check-in. This considerate gesture allowed us to freshen up and kick-start our adventure, setting a positive tone for our stay.
During our visit, there was a minor hiccup with housekeeping - a misplaced pair of Nike Air Max shoes. Thankfully, the vigilant receptionist swiftly resolved the issue, locating and returning the missing item promptly. To make amends for the inconvenience, they went the extra mile, offering a small gift and complimentary breakfast coupons as a gesture of goodwill. Such attentiveness to guest needs is truly commendable.
While we chose to explore authentic local cuisine during our trip, bypassing hotel dining, I cannot provide feedback on the food quality or variety.
In terms of location, this hotel scores points for convenience. Taxis are readily available, and it took us just 30 minutes to reach the stunning Laoshan Mountain, a must-visit destination. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to a bustling night market right across the street adds to its appeal.
However, there's room for improvement, notably in the cleanliness department. The bathrooms, in particular, left much to be desired, with an unpleasant odour lingering during our stay. Broken equipment, such as the wardrobe, was also in need of repair. Furthermore, the electric kettle was not up to our cleanliness standards, discouraging its use.
In summary, this hotel offers excellent customer service, convenient access to transportation and local attractions, and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. However, attention to cleanliness and maintenance, especially in the bathrooms, is an area that could use some enhancement.

There is also beer for sale downstairs. I buy a bottle every day and drink it while watching movies. Not bad, there are Hema and IKEA next to it. It is very suitable for staying for a few days

RRachelle MaeLocation is great because our intention was to be in the Laoshan District. Might not be easy if most of your plans are in the touristy areas such as the Tsingtao Brewery Museum. Anyway, there is Metro (underground subway) which helped us address that in case we wanted to have a look at downtown. The hotel is a 10 min walk from either Haiyou or Haichuan stations in Line 2.
We’re not so much of a fan of Chinese food for breakfast, so the free breakfast was not fascinating for us. They did have eggs and bread.
There is an elevator to help us carry or luggage all the way to our floors. And the room was neat and clean, and they clean it every time we’re out.

GGuest UserI was surprised to find a treasure niche boutique hotel. The hotel is conveniently located, the door is very low-key, the stay found that the environment inside is very good, the layout details are tasteful, I like it very much, the room is comfortable and satisfactory.
The front desk of the hotel said that there was a free coffee gift on the first night, and a glass of ice latte was really delicious! ! I asked the front desk to know that this was prepared by the hotel owner. The boss himself is also a coffee hobby. He uses the good beans that the boss drinks by himself. Like me like coffee to live must taste, better than star dad.
I am used to staying in a chain hotel. It is rare to encounter a hotel that makes me feel warm and cost-effective. It is worth my serious evaluation and worth recommending.
