The apartments are very dated and in need of repairs . There is no shop no bar and no restaurant open on site. The pool area only opens up once the lifeguard has arrived. There are lots of Spanish residents there and they are loud all day long. Last thing was our hotel room was near the car park and every morning about 6 lorry’s would pull up music playing and leaving it in reverse so the alarm would just keep going. There are 2 entrances but you can only use the main entrance if you don’t own an apartment ! So if you walked to the shops you would have to go all the way round to the main entrance instead of going back to the pool. No drink or food allowed by the pool either.

I stayed in a studio with a garden in block B with my son and my experience was good. I expected to find cockroaches because it is normal in the area but to my surprise, not a single one inside the studio. Everything was very clean and had everything you need. The staff was very friendly, there was a kitchen, a toaster, a water heater and everything you need to cook. There is a supermarket nearby, at the entrance to a hotel next door that can get you out of a tight spot, although we also found a shortcut to get down very quickly, going out through the pool down some stairs. When you leave the apartment you just have to go down some stairs, a curve and you are already in the supermarkets and shopping centre. There are some things that could (or as in my case) be a drawback, such as the parking, although you can find a street below, that there is no restaurant in the apartment itself and that inside it is a bit labyrinthine, although we learned the way the second time and there are maps in all the corridors. Also when we arrived the check-in time was 2pm but we ended up going in almost at 3pm because they were cleaning it, but at least it was very clean so I didn't mind. Also, they let us stay in the pool as long as we wanted on the day of check-out, which is not possible in other places. They leave you 2 bottles of water in the room. The pool is well maintained and clean, the views are incredible. Our stay was very good and we will return.

I enjoyed it so much. We had the best spot I thought. I got a room next to the pool...I could just not see the pool but I was next to it there was a wall in front of it. I had a view of the sea...that was also lovely. I found my room neat when I got it, but it is true that as soon as you check in you get information but not everything is passed on... for example, there is a lift that ensures that you are downstairs faster... well, what do you do if you don't understand anything and keep walking around... when you find out after 2 days that there is also a lift because the receptionist tells you, then you think, wow, finally I don't have to walk much anymore... it can also be faster... once you use the lift and open the door outside the lift, you see after you are outside that you have to use a code for the door to get in... so I had to walk around again to go back to the reception... the boy at the reception gave me the code that I had during check-in... but no one said that the code is for the door.... For the rest, I think that August is the best time to stay in the hotel so as not to see cockroaches, as many people write, I only saw 1 alive but that was outside and a few dead cockroaches... but otherwise none a few mosquitoes or dirty creatures that come to visit .... I loved the pool, the water was clean, although it is salt water so you really have to get used to the fact that there is no chlorine in it. However, on the last day of my stay when I decided to sunbathe by the pool all day, my swimming gear was put in a locker because the lifeguard thought I should stay by my chair ... when I looked at everything carefully, there were people who put chairs in front of their own room in the morning and then did not use them all day. You can't expect much from the lifeguard, who is not really a lifeguard ... he only sat on his phone hidden behind chairs .... you never saw him and at 5 o'clock there was no more supervision. The pool stayed open until 7:00 PM 7:30 PM...but at 7:00 PM everyone got out because the sun was gone...so the water was a bit cold. What bothered me the most was actually my do not disturb card...I had told the receptionist that I didn't want anyone in the room to clean it the whole week...that's how it went...until the last 2 days when someone decided to take my do not disturb card away. I went to the reception...they didn't have those cards anymore...I got a new printed note with do not disturb and what do I see the next day my note gone again. The boy replied ah don't worry you're leaving the next day anyway and it's not us it's children who take it away. The reception is also open 24 hours a day when I wanted to check out at 6:00 AM I saw a sign saying we'll be right back...I just put the key behind the window. The key

We was actually moved too this hotel after a terrible start at another hotel. We was pleasantly surprised here, it’s not the fanciest hotel you could stay at but it’s most defo not the worst. For a smaller budget we had a great time here. The pool area is lovely and well maintained, never a fight for sunbeds. Pool toilets was very clean. There is no pool bar or shop onsite but u can pop next door too the Montebello and use those. The rooms are clean and maids came in every day we was there changed beds and fresh towels. You do see a few cockroaches in the corridors sometimes but none in our rooms. It’s easy walking distance too the commercial centre around 8 mins downhill. We always got a taxi back up though which cost €4. Overall we was happy with these apartments and would return.

Stayed at peurto plata for 4 nights 16th April. First the good things. Great pool but doesn't open until at least 10am when the life guard turns up. That's all the good things now to the bad things Rooms are very dated front door looked like it had been attacked with some sort of tool leaving gouges in it. Kitchen poor . The plug on the wall would spark when I tried to charge my phone. Reported. Shower in the bathroom was broken I reported it every day I was there they keep saying will fix tomorrow one day the receptionist said can't I just hold shower in my hand and shower that way? Bald head with glasses. Just a waste of time reporting anything . They second day I was locked out my room as the key cards were not working reception was closed . Took nearly 2hrs to sort out 3 other people suffering the same thing. Wont mention the guy underneath us shouting swearing all day and night drinking not reception fault but security not bothered . Used to be a good place. Bar closed and restaurant also closed there. Could be so much better if run correctly

Awful place, stay away! No pool bar/supermarket/restaurant open. We didn't know this until we arrived. Very disappointing! No air con and we couldn't even hire fans for the apartments. Got bitten alive by mosquitoes at nite. Terrible accommodation would never return to this place.
