The pool is full of tree branches and leaves 4 days after the hurricane: they just dont give a shait about it because it is not high season… so no many tips for the staff And there are 10 meter squared of sargasso plant that stink like rotten eggs right in front of the beach and at the bottom of the restaurant terrace for the 20 days that we have been here and they don’t give a shait about that either…

This place was so ghetto! There were ants in our fridge, a cockroach in our room, the breakfast was like prison food (soggy tortilla chips, eggshells in the scrambled eggs, floppy bacon and a cheap hash brown) and the staff were incredibly rude. They give you two tiny little water bottles a day and charge an obscene amount of money do any more. The place was in dire need of a facelift. The pool was so murky that nobody from our party of 15 would even enter it. And the cherry on top of the cake was the ear piercing Jack hammering of concrete every day that could be heard from the pool and all of our rooms. I would not recommend this resort to anyone! The staff was so rude!

Calling this a family friendly resort is downplaying the reality. I like kids. (I have 4, but my husband and I are travelling alone.) Poor parenting is rampant here. As I write this I am watching a family with children in the “adults only” hot tub by the swim up bar—no one seems to care. We’ve seen a waiter have to point out the sign to a family with 3 children including a baby in diapers. We’ve seen school age boys leaping from one cabana bed to another, children riding scooters around the pool deck, barely missing elderly guests. The screaming is often deafening. Children run in the halls. I thought I would enjoy watching kids play, but this is ridiculous. We like the hotel: it has wonderful staff, a comfortable bed and a really beautiful balcony. We splurged for ocean view and you can see it from the tub, the shower, the bed. Very few parents seem to care that their children are overwhelming the facility. I would not recommend it or return: unless you have a large family of out of control children. In this case, you’ll find no restrictions on their behaviour, a shallow sandy beach and pools vacated by adult guests in favour of more civilized surroundings.

Horrible experience, to say the least. While the location in PA was great and the facilities were okay, they were in dire need of a refresh and did not justify the price we paid. The balcony was absolutely unsafe for our kids due to the low bannister so we could not use it all. However, the most frustrating aspect was the poor customer service and restaurant experience. The breakfast service was terrible. The quality of the food was awful, as I found eggshells in the scrambled eggs on 3 separate occasions. The staff was rude, especially once they realized they weren't going to receive a tip. We had to wait for over an hour to receive our paid breakfast, and on our last day, they served frozen fruits instead of fresh ones. Unfortunately, this led to my two-year-old suffering from a stomach congestion and vomiting violently. Despite our distress, the staff showed no concern and even reprimanded us for using napkins to clean up. After all this, during check-out, they even attempted to charge us over $50 for stained bedsheets! It is evident that this place is contributing to the growing issue of Riviera Maya becoming a rip-off for tourists. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel at all costs.

Some of the staff was friendly. The hotel seems outdated and rooms were not very clean. Hot tub looked dirty and lots of ants on the patio furniture. Beds were uncomfortable and hard as a rock, also not very spacious. The only cool parts were restaurants near by, the beach and pool area. The food was expensive at their restaurant. We came here to stay near the site where my niece was going to get married. We arrived the day before the wedding and on the wedding day we woke up to no power. We had no light, we could not iron, use tools for our hair, we could not charge our phones. It was hot and no AC due to power outage. I called the front desk they said it would be up and running soon. The staff never offered us to iron our clothes (since the lobby areas DID have electricity from their reserve). We were not offered apology nor compensation of any kind. It was difficult to get ready for the wedding the room was dark barely any natural light and hot because the AC was not working due to power outage. As I left to the wedding I asked the front desk when the lights would be back on and they said by the time we come back from the wedding they will be back on. I come back and still no electricity. The staff kept blaming it on the town saying it was an outage all over but my daughter was staying at a hotel in the sale area and her power was not out. I think the manager or owners need to have a back up power generator so that their guests do not experience this again in the future. I left before my check out date and they refused to give me a refund. That is the least they could have done for ruining our day. Luckily I brought 3 dresses but what I did not appreciate was I did not get to wear the one I wanted for the wedding because it was wrinkled. I hope they do better and I hope they upgrade their rooms as well.

If you want to relive the 1908s, here is your chance. Better yet, if you have a thing for “Love Boat” décor, you really should not miss this hotel. Overall, this is a good option for families. Lots of pool and beach space, good size rooms, free and easy parking, and clean. Not very crowded. Good hot water and water pressure. Close to a variety of nearby restaurants. A weekly local market pops up on the hotel property and the guy selling empanadas is not to be missed! A truly impressive amount of furniture on our room's balcony. No, really, the hotel should have won an award for the number of items they were able to fit on the balcony. HOWEVER, hotel restaurant was overpriced which is likely why it was empty. Breakfast was included but I had to sit down at a table to have my (included) coffee or I had to pay for it. This seemed like a strange rule that didn't have a real reason. Ultimately we decided not to even have the included breakfast. Drinks at the hotel hot tub bar were awful and service was just plain terrible. But this I suppose is the price to pay for being able to say you were at a 1980s hot tub bar. If you can channel the 80s vibe, and you have kids, this place is ok. If you want to channel an even older vibe, make sure to visit the bar across the street to see the Elvis impersonator perform.

Toilet was dirty and shower was broken upon arrival. Talked to staff about it and asked to get a new room and all they did is come change the shower head which did not fix the flood king problem the shower was having. Also, did not have hot water when I tried to shower.
