Villa Las Tronas Hotel & Spa

Our stay at this exclusive, beautifully appointed historic hotel was wonderful. The location is amazing - just a short 10 minute walk along the waterfront to the old town of Alghero with stunning views across the mediterranean. We had a sea view room with a large balcony and although not huge, the room was elegantly decorated with beautiful pieces of furniture. The pool area is calm and peaceful with stunning views overlooking the sea. There is also private access down some steps to the sea if you fancy a dip. The hotel is very private with access from the road via secure gates only. It is within it's own grounds surrounded by beautiful private gardens where there are lots of areas to sit peacefully. Staff were very accomodating and extremely friendly. Service was excellent with high staff to guest ratio. Nothing too much trouble. On departure day a taxi was ordered for us and as we were leaving slightly before the official start time of breakfast, staff kindly arranged for us to have breakfast a little earlier which was very much appreciated. Silver service breakfast was wonderful and lots of choice. Overall a truly memorable stay and we will certainly be returning.
CPH | Pevero Hotel

Almost didn't book this hotel as it had some less positive reviews, but booked in the end because it is an SLH and I trust that brand from experience. Well, having been lucky enough to have stayed at a large number of 5 star hotels this definitely has our seal of approval! We would happily come again. Stayed at more expensive hotels in Sardinia and much preferred this one. What we liked - pool setup is great with the pools across different levels and really fab smaller pools for children - meant we (and other families ) could let our daughter splash around without disturbing anyone else. Cabanas and beds set up around the pool all very spread out so it never felt crowded at all Beautiful view from the room. Great location to drive to all other parts of the Costa Smerelda. Also a great location for any hiking or trail running on the Pevero health trail. Lovely evening restaurant with fantastic food and wonderful staff. Great selection at pool bar menu for lunch. Lovely breakfast (please note if reading less recent reviews they no longer charge for omelettes etc at breakfast). Gym was better than the previous hotel we had stayed at which was a 5 star ”resort”. In general the level of service amongst the staff was super. What we didn't like - this actually really didn't bother us but the hotel's beach area isn't great or great value. It's EUR120 for a pair of sunbeds on Piccolo Pevero (less than 5min walk or they offer a shuttle) ... And anyway Grand Pevero (2min further walk from hotel) is nicer with sunbeds a third of that price. And there are other beaches on the peninsula which are also great. So, if you're happy to go to Grande Pevero instead or want to drive around the coast a bit during your stay... Don't be put off by that. Two slight negatives - they didn't provide much water in the rooms (at a 5star hotel I expect more than one small carton of water per person per day) and the room was slightly on the small side bearing in mind we had to fit a cot in it.. but a small price to pay for the view.
Aethos Sardinia

First of all, the hotel is built on the mountain and has an Italian style. The view overlooking the bay is also very good. The scenery of the skyline swimming pool is also very beautiful. 2. However, the sound insulation effect of the hotel room is very poor. Not only can you hear the voices in the next room, but the sound of people walking upstairs and on the stairs is also not soundproof. It greatly affects the rest in the room and the feeling is very bad. We have given feedback and communicated with the person in charge of the hotel, and their answer is: This is a countryside style, the sound insulation effect is like this, there is no way. As a result, I couldn't sleep peacefully for two nights and was often woken up at night. Feeling very bad. 3. The food in the restaurant: can be described with very bad words. First of all, the ingredients are not fresh and some fruits are obviously rotten, as evidenced by the photos. Secondly, the dishes provided do not taste fragrant. I don’t know if it’s the chef’s cooking skills or the cooking method that’s different! It feels far from the standard of a five-star hotel. I chose a lot of dishes, but almost none were delicious. As for the Italian restaurants around us, we felt that they were both delicious and delicious. The overall feeling is that the restaurant level of this hotel is far below the five-star standard, not even three-star. Third, we ate at the front of the restaurant, which was very nice, but we were surrounded by swarms of bees or wasps. They were unscrupulous and plundered food directly from the dinner plate. Not only was the food contaminated, but we were also worried about being stung by them. There was no time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. 4. I originally booked this hotel because it is close to the seaside and has an Italian style. Due to the above-mentioned bad feelings, we had to change to other nearby hotels. The price was half cheaper than here, and the experience was much better than this. Therefore, we feel that this hotel is not consistent with such a high price and five-star rating. The joyful mood of the first two nights when I came to Sardinia for the first time was greatly affected. 5. Communicate and coordinate with the person in charge of the hotel (assistant manager) when leaving the hotel, and truthfully respond to the above issues. They apologized for this, but had no other remedies. After asking the manager for instructions, they agreed to waive the value-added tax we should have paid when we arrived at the store and a salad (it was extremely unpalatable and was returned on site). . Our request: Since the hotel for these two nights was fully prepaid in advance, the hotel has no authority to give us any other compensation. As a loyal customer of Ctrip, I hope you will verify the above situation and give us corresponding compensation if possible. Make amends to soothe our wounded hearts. Thank you.

We just got back from spending a week here and despite having a nice time, there’s definitely a LOT of room for improvement. I’ll split it into sections so it’s easier to read. Keep in mind the hotel was only recently taken over by tui blue. Rooms: The rooms are very basic and lack a lot of things. We actually paid for a superior and many other residents said there was no difference between the superior and normal and was also a lack of toiletries. As you can see by the pictures, ours was infested with ants. It’s a shame I can’t post videos to show the extent of the infestation. We gave reception benefit of the doubt and went and told them the first night we got there as we came back to our room and there were loads all in our luggage and bags and they told us they’d sort it. It wasn’t sorted and luckily my dad had managed to stop it. Was fine for a few days and then they came back, once again all over our stuff. Went up to reception, said they’d get someone in to sort it and yet again it wasn’t done. Obviously the maintenance needs some work. Restaurant And Food: First night the food was lovely and way better than other hotels we’d been too. As the week went on it got a little progressively worse. There is little to no selection of fresh fruit in the morning or granola type of stuff and then your average cooked English breakfast. A lot of the time we saw dishes from the meal before and even evening before being reused the next day. A lot of members of staff eating before actual residents were which I’d never seen before. Some of it was amazing and the deserts and ice cream were lovely but once again a lot of room for improvement. I do want to mention that the young girl (didn’t catch her name) who was working in there breakfast, lunch and dinner every day along with the young guy was absolutely amazing and grafted very hard and was super polite and made our dining experience a lot better. We didn’t go to the a la carte ourselves, but everyone we spoke to said it was the exact same food that was being served in the restaurant and there was nothing special about it. Hotel overall: There was a lot of different activities to do and the BlueF!t reps were great especially the lady. The shop on site is ridiculously expensive and only sells souvenirs which is a shame as it’s such a remote area and it would have been nice to have a little supermarket with snacks and more available. Entertainment was good and the reps were nice, we were looking forward to bingo but it didn’t get done as there were a few problems the week prior with missing balls etc. I don’t think we met one person who wasn’t bitten and all 5 of us who went have been bitten to shreds by mosquitos (no fault of the hotel just something to be aware of) and a lot of wasps around which were no bother. It was really nice and clean everywhere and the cleaners work very hard to keep the place tidy which is a plus. Drinks were okay but not very strong but never are at these hotels, however t

La Coluccia

We stayed in La Coluccia for one week this summer. Let's start on a positive note and mention hotel's good points. Firstly, beautiful location, if you look for a quiet area this quiet bay is perfect. Bare in mind that the beach is public. The housekeeping service was very efficient and some of the reception staff were very helpful and presented a good command of English. There was also a very friendly girl at the pool service. Unfortunately, there are many negatives. Starting with the cleanliness... the pool area is simply dirty, the jacuzzi was cleaned after our complaint. You would expect 5 star hotel to have their cleanliness on spot. The walls of the pool were dirty, the pool floor needs an urgent maintance, we witnessed one of the guests hurting her foot badly on a broken board. When we brought a dirty jacuzzi to the reception employee's attention...we heard that it was due to people using it. Well it is due to the staff to clean it as often as needed. The pool boy/lifeguard spent most of the days on his mobile, not interested in his job whatsoever. Here I need to mention never seen before unprofessional behaviour of the hotel management. During one of the afternoons we witnessed the hotel management staff telling the pool boy off in front of all guests. Besides the point that the guy deserved some criticism, it should have been done behind the scenes. The room advertised as a see view deluxe room is a very standard size room with a sea view covered by bushes. The food was a big disappointment, we ate mostly in the nearest town. It is a pity to see a hotel with a great potential, not to receive a deserved attention. Unfortunately, from previous reviews hotel's replies, it seems like looking for excuses is tge way tge reviews are approached. I reckon it would be good for the hotel management to be open to a constructive criticism. The management should look upon themselves and make some urgent changes. Attention to detail must be applied if the hotel wants to claim its 5 stars...
