Bastione Spasimo Boutique Hotel
4.9/545 Reviews
La Kalsa
Liked · Could not recommend Bastione Spasimo more, we went for our honeymoon and the staff were so kind and attentive! They really couldn’t do enough for us, offering help before we even had to ask. They even put some balloons and lovely Sicilian biscuits in our room to celebrate. We had a small issue with ants as we left a bag of crisps unsealed - and Giulia immediately had someone come and clean the area and brought us replacement crisps and free drinks as an apology - above and beyond. Beautiful hotel, we stayed in their superior double room with the jacuzzi and it was so luxurious, with a gorgeous original stone ceiling from the 1500s! The bed was huge and very comfortable. The pool/garden area was a beautifully kept oasis in a hot Palermo summer, where they grow lemons and chilli peppers. Hundreds of amazing restaurants and sightseeing within walking distance. We’ll never forget this holiday, for the best reasons.
Domina Zagarella Sicily

I wasn't going to write a review about this hotel as I was so disappointed with our stay but having just come back from an amazing holiday in Crete I decided that this hotel needed a fair and honest review. The check in process is very efficient and quick. It seems that they have that down to a fine art. There after there is no guest services as the desk staff are very unhelpful if you go with a problem or concern. The hotel is very clean although tired but one can't fault their hygiene standards. This hotel has so much potential and it is clear that the staff aren't happy as it shows in their awful, rude, disinterested attitude. However housekeeping on the other hand can't do enough and are polite and smiling people. We booked a prestige sea view room. They claim they gave us one but I would not call it that at all. We instead got a side view room and if you walked to the end of the balcony you could see the sea. Why advertise that the hotel has more sea view rooms that it does? Rather call it what it is... a partial/side sea view with limited views! The food is much to be desired overall. It is a poor breakfast. The scrambled eggs are watery and bacon under cooked. The salads are mostly served with limp lettuce and there is a lot of repetition in the meals served. I am not a fan of the canteen type buffet area as it lacks character and no view. We tried Cava once and that wasn't much better - they are understaffed and the food was tasteless. Despite the hotel having amazing views and lovely pools there are a few things that need to be addressed: Sunbeds - there are clearly not enough...don't bother on the weekend as they let local residents and D Club members in so you have no chance. It is chaos if the hotel is full and during the week guests book them before breakfast. We were shocked that as paying guests of the hotel, the D Club/local day visitors got preferential treatment. A simple solution would be getting more surely? Small children - since when is it acceptable to allow children to swim in dirty nappies? We saw this on a number of occasions and I was horrified. This was not an isolated family or time either. Overall it was a stay that won't be repeated.
Le Calette Bay

The setting of the hotel is the main selling point here. Gorgeous coves to go swimming and a lovely reef club with direct water access for swimming. The staff are excellent too. Unfortunately the food and rooms are a let down. Our room was tiny and resembled a hospital bedroom with nice bedding. It had a very clinical feel and we really didn’t want to spend time in it at all. The food is very average. The cheese and ham toasted sandwich in the reef club was grim, I would make better at home myself. We had lunch in the reef club and the food was very average and the menu is very boring and unimaginative. Breakfast setting is lovely outside but again the food was very average and the coffee is awful. The staff informed us they use instant coffee and you can tell immediately. My poached eggs and bacon was very bad and overcooked. The quality of the ingredients certainly is not 5 star. The hotel also charge guests for use of the kayaks, paddle boards, sauna and steam room. There is no shuttle service to go into town despite a minibus parked outside the hotel. Overall we liked the location but the hotel needs to do better.
Victoria Palace Cefalù
4.3/542 Reviews
This Victoria Place room in Cefal has no surprises, but the location is very good, right by the sea, you can sit in the open-air bar area outside the gate to watch the sunset, especially the view of the rooftop breakfast room is worth mark... In addition, the hotel’s underground The entrance to the car park is on Via Pintorno on the back of the hotel. It is not possible to get around from the front of the hotel.
Relais Abbazia Santa Anastasia Resort & Winery
4.5/556 Reviews
We visited Abbazia Santa Anastasia after finding it online and reading some of their reviews. It is an impressive abbey tucked away in the hills and winery in the Castel Buono with wonderful vistas. The hotel, the room, the pool and surrounding walking areas are very impressive and worth visiting for a unique Sicilian experience and, of course, taste of some local wine. While I agree with some of the prior reviews, the staffs attentiveness to guests may have been spotty in some instances, when I addressed the issue, it was quickly corrected and more than made up for by their subsequent efforts. I would highly recommend visiting this hotel winery and trying it out. If any issues arise, they should be addressed at the hotel and I believe the experience would be definitely worthwhile.
Alberi Del Paradiso
4.4/585 Reviews
My wife and I traveled for one week in Sicily. We stayed 4 nights at this resort and we enjoyed it immensely. It started with the check in process by Angela. She was wonderful describing all the benefits of the resort. She then smiled and said we had been upgraded to room 407. This was fantastic because this particular room was a suite with two different balconies, one facing the sea and one facing the gardens and pool. The entire ground are superbly maintained and clean. The rooms spotless, which is very important to my wife and I. The restaurant and bar staff provided great service with a smile, always willing to provide directions or recommendations. The food itself, while good was not great. Breakfast was good and a great way to start our site seeing. Be prepared to take a ten minute walk down into town. The walk back up to the resort can be challenging, but taxi's are plentiful and only 15 Euro. The resort itself is very laid back. It provided a quite get away that we were looking for. We will be back, and we highly recommend this resort.
