Sono stato l'altro giorno in hotel ospitaitato dal Gentilissimo Sig Giuseppe MARIANO, il quale per mie esigenze di lavoro è stato squisitamente disponibile e mi ha aspettato fino all'orario d'arrivo oltre la mezzanotte. È stato talmente gentile e mi ha anche preparato uno squisitissimo panino, nonostante la cucina fosse chiusa. Il panino era preparato con prodotti di altissima qualità, anche locali e, con un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. La stanza gentilmente fornita dal Sig. Mariano è dotata di tutti i comfort, organizzata in ogni minimo dettaglio: ci si può specchiare anche sui muri e sul pavimento, data l'accuratezza dell'igiene certificata H.A.C.C.P., LA CAMERA E DOTATA DI TUTTI I COMFORT, il bagno è molto spazioso ＜＜come il resto della stanza＞＞, il letto, le lenzuola e i cuscini sono molto ergonomiche, fresche e comode; ed è tutto pulito e organizzato in modo stupefacente. L'albergo è dotato di una stupenda sala dove, si può degustare una vasta gamma di prodotti dolci e salati di altissima qualità e con un rapporto qualità prezzo più che ottimale. La sala bar è molto carina e ben organiuzzata, molto accogliente: proprio come il signor Mariano. Purtroppo, per mancanza di tempo non ho avuto l'opportunità di assaggiare i prodotti tipici lucani (sono lucano) del gentilissimo Sig. ristoratore e albergatore Giuseppe Mariano. In sala bar sono stato colpito dalla professionalità del Sig. Giuseppe, che mi ha saputo descrivere perfettamente tutte le caratteristiche organolettiche dei suoi vini e delle altre bevande alcoliche presenti nel bar. Inoltre, l'hotel è proprio di fronte un postamat ed un bancomat; la sala esterna del bar è molto carina e ben curata, sicuramente anche dalla gentilezza e dalla cortesia del Sig. Mariano, con un piccolo giardino di incantevoli fiori, con divanetti e tavolini molto comodi. Ringrazio enormemente ladisponibilità, la gentilezza, la cortesia, la professionalità e il Sig. Giuseppe MARIANO in persona per il bellissimo soggiorno che mi ha fornito; inoltre, invito chiunque legga questa recensione a PRENOTARE UNA PENSIONE COMPLETA PRESSO L'HOTEL MARIANO, per un soggiorno fantastico e comfortevole da tutti i punti di vista e, perché (non mi stancherò mai di ripetere) la gentilezza e la cortesia del Sig. I booked a night directly from the site. The description of the structure and the room is absolutely true to the reality. A minimum furnishing with recovery materials perfectly combined with some color notes that make the environment comfortable. The structure is two steps from the centre. Parking is available both free and free. I asked for the tour with Apecalessino and Martina (I hope I remembered the name correctly) worked to find a renter immediately. So, generally excellent experience, absolutely to be advised. Just two things to my modest opinion to improve: 1) cleaning the balcony 2) the furniture of coffee pots. Three are few, perhaps for additional even payable.

Worst experience in staying in independent accommodation. Left in the rain for 1 hour. Tried 18 calls not answered A very unpleasant man turned up and yelled at us in Italian. We felt very intimidated. When we went out we believe someone entered the room and turned off all lights and heating. Nice room but it’s in an apartment not a hotel like pictures make you believe. Next morning 1/2 hour before check out we returned back and the angry man was waiting for us. Yelling about lights left on. This was a small bathroom light we’d missed when we went for a walk. He virtually threw us out of the hotel. Standing in front of the bedroom window making us very uncomfortable. Very very unpleasant stay.

My experience at Evodia Luxury Rooms was truly exceptional. Despite our late arrival at 1:15 AM, the staff greeted us warmly and made the check-in process smooth and stress-free. They were incredibly attentive throughout our stay, offering detailed advice on how to get around quickly and suggesting fantastic dining options in the area. Upon arrival, they welcomed us with a refreshing drink, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture after a long journey. The attention to detail didn’t stop there; the breakfast each morning was delightful, with a variety of fresh and delicious options that set the perfect tone for the day. The combination of outstanding service, helpful recommendations, and a welcoming atmosphere made our stay at Evodia Luxury Rooms an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special place to stay.

To be honest, I was skeptical about this one. I needed to book the hotel last minute (like literally the previous night), so seeing an old-looking building (probably constructed in the 1980s) was not really encouraging BUT I wanted to see Matera, so I went ahead. The hotel surprised me and by a lot. First of all - yes, the building is old BUT all inside is renovated, so all is great. The rooms are good in size (not too small at all, just right) and everything is very clean. You have a full minibar if you want something and the hotel has a working restaurant and staff at reception 24/7. The breakfast is phenomenal (like, literally anything any traveler could want) and the staff are helpful and friendly. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Basically, there is no other hotel in Matera which is closer to the Sassi and the historical center. You just need 5 minutes of slow walking (entrance to the old town square is just behind the hotel :) ) and you are at the viewpoint and the cistern. There is a vending machine for snacks and drinks just less than 10 minutes away down the street from the hotel (in the old town) and any sights and amazing places to eat are within the same 5-10 minute distance. If you want to see the historical center of Matera, this is the place to stay (you won't regret it, trust me!). The hotel is very popular with Italians visiting Matera, so keep that in mind and if you are not travelling solo, like me, better book in advance :) The prime location comes with a single downside and a few things to consider (listing them here as they are just things to keep in mind and not something that is a huge issue) - the proximity to the Sassi means you will be quite far away from the bus station (3 kilometers) and the train station (1.5 kilometers). The distance is not that much BUT it is an uphill slope 90% of the time, so if you have a lot of luggage, better take a taxi. I loved it, so there is nothing I can put my finger at as a bad things, really, I just want to continue what I started above with the things you should keep in mind when visiting. If you come by car, make sure to notify the hotel in advance, as it is within a restricted parking area and parking lots are limited. Also be aware that the hotel is busy (as I said, very popular with Italians visiting) and check-in starts at 15.00, so if you come in earlier than that, you may need to wait. The staff would do anything they can to accommodate you early, BUT if you plan on arriving before noon, better notify them, to get your room ready. The hotel also have luggage storage, just so you know. Did I say I loved it? Just to repeat I can't wait to return!
