Wow, what a stunning historic bed and breakfast/inn just a few minutes from Princeton. SO much better than staying in town - a whole acre to wander around on, beautiful historic buildings, comfortable furnishings and amenities, and a five minute drive from Nassau Hall. (And the oldest part of the inn is even older than Nassau Hall, to boot.) Sophisticated enough for the most cosmopolitan traveler, but friendly and comfortable enough for a family as well. We stayed here with our two teenage boys and felt right at home. Breakfasts were phenomenal and Lydia was helpful without hovering. Also appreciated the complimentary red wine in the great room -

This place has no words for how lovely it is! My husband and I stayed there for 5 nights and we just had the best time. The Inn is very old and has super cool details and it feels like you have gone back in time! During our stay the breakfasts were never the same and we both agreed the food we had there was the best we had while out in New Jersey. They give you three different options to choose from everyday too, which was great! Lydia is a wonderful inkeeper and will make sure you are taken care of. They also offer coffee, tea and red wine during your stay which is a nice perk. You are also greeted with homemade cookies in your room when you get there along with some homemade soaps as well. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are super soft. You won't regret booking this place!

Wonderful stay. The great room was a portal to history, so cool to hang out there. Lydia was charming, helpful, and an excellent cook. We loved our breakfasts-lots of food! and brought several of her homemade jams back with us. The location was very close to Princeton but far enough away to be relaxing, and the room was quite comfortable.

Beautiful property and exceptionally hospitable innkeeper, Lydia. She was warm, friendly, very professional and accommodating. The property has a very old section that is fascinating. And the rooms are charming but with modern facilities. The beds and sheets are top notch…could have stayed many more days! Homemade breakfast was outstanding! Sure wish it had been a longer stay!

We loved this beautiful, period inn. Lydia, the innkeeper was wonderful and her breakfasts are truly amazing. It was so quiet; we never even ran into other guests although there were several cars in the parking area. We enjoyed the complimentary wine in the common room with huge fireplace in the oldest part of the building. The bathroom was modern and spotless. It's a beautiful location outside of Princeton and we'd definitely stay there again if in the area.

The Inn At Glencairn is such a lovely place to stay in Princeton. It is so close to downtown and the house and grounds are beautiful. The history behind the house is so interesting and quite a unique and authentic experience staying there. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the whole stay felt very homey and accommodating. Overall, I would recommend this inn to anyone coming to the area and will definitely be coming back!

In the many upon many options there are for a simple overnight stay, I discovered this inn thinking it was going to be a great find: especially based on the photos and reviews that made it sound wonderful. I've stayed at inns before, and have loved my stays but this old house, even though the old part was not the issue, there is a difference between old and rustic and dirty and grind. In the room I stayed in, the carpet needed to be replaced; worn and dirty. Surrounding the rectangular looking carpet in the center of the room were wooded floors, which had layers of old dirt that seemed to have accumulated over years. The fire place, as nice as it was to have one there, and its surrounding area, evident once again were layers of old dirt and grind that felt as if they have never been cleaned before. As I walked around the room when I first arrived, I noticed white feathers on the carpet, and when I went to open one of the windows, though old and wooded, would not stay open. It was a warm day and evening and there is no control of AC for each individual room, so the evening was a bit warm and there was no air circulation from the windows themselves even when propped open. The screens in the windows, rusty-ish, stuck in place, metal edges sticking out, were stuck in place and hard to move down as the inn requests in their emails. At this point, I was there, and I knew I would not get my money back. When I retired for the evening, I noticed right away the mattress also needs replacing for it was caving inward on one of the sides. One thing which was also misleading in their advertisement, was their statement about live TV. There were no typical standard channels but rather the live TV available only a Roku stick; so if you are looking to watch anything current, or anything from a major network, you would need your own account to a streaming service. (Which they do mention but the Live TV is not what I was imaging.) Lastly I would state that the breakfast the inn raves about, was okay, nothing amazing as I was expecting. The price was super expensive for what I received and definitely not worth the money. Even if just $100, that would still be too much in my book for what you get. The innkeeper was nice but that alone would not merit another stay for me; just not worth the value I paid.

One of the most awesome bed and breakfast experiences to date. The pictures on the website do not do the place justice. Truly a must for any history fan, an immersion into history with modern plumbing and a breakfast to die for! Also the service was warming and delightful!

Excellent, personalized hospitality and the breakfast is to die for! There's a lovely great room with complimentary tea and wine--perfect for hanging out before or after you've explored the surrounding area. I have no reason to explore any other lodging options when I'm in this area!
