I don't usually leave reviews but, in this case it is warranted. First, I work for the government and travel often so have seen my share of good and bad hotels around the world. Because I travel for work, I must have a receipt. My wife books my travel through **********. This time she accidentally clicked pay at property. When it came time for me to check out, I asked for a receipt and the Baymont told me, because it was booked through 3rd party, I had to get receipt from them. When I got home we called ********** and they told us that because it was paid for at the hotel I had to get receipt from them. My wife called Baymont and at first was told she had to get receipt from ********** but when she said it was paid for at the hotel, she was told they would email a receipt. It did not come. I've called again today and got the same run-around but in the end they said they would email it to my wife because she booked it. We are waiting to see if it comes. I would think, if you are going to work with a 3rd party for booking, the process for receipts would be well known and the customer wouldn't have issues. I don't have issues with other hotels. Secondly, like many other reviews, the first floor by the east-wing elevators stunk like *********. After checking in and as I was headed to dinner, I stopped at the front desk and said something to the clerk. She said she would look into it. The next evening it stunk still or again. The third day, when I checked out, the smell was as strong but it was early morning. Reading the reviews, this seems like a theme at the hotel. Third, the second day, when I returned from work for the day, I found my room had been cleaned but the towels I used were gone with no replacements. Finally, breakfast was terrible. If I was paying a Motel6 rate, I would expect a Motel6 environment. I pay a little more to have a better environment and stay. Did not get it at the Baymont. Would not recommend the hotel for a family stay unless you want to introduce your children to ********* and shifty people, early in your children's development.
