We had a family emergency and needed to drive 500 miles north to Presque Isle at the last minute. The Northeastland had availability, and I called ahead to say we'd be arriving after 11 pm. It was easy to find, with or without GPS. Large and well-lit parking lot behind the hotel. Although we grabbed food on the road, we were pleased to find that there was a snack area with drinks and snacks available for purchase. The gentleman at check-in was kind and got us our (real) key within a few minutes. I rather small elevator took us to the 3rd floor. Our room was definitely old-school, with the bathroom and separate sink area evoking memories of my parent's 1970's home, but it was very clean and very comfortable. We slept like rocks on the very comfortable bed with "just right" pillows-- not too hard and not too soft. Every person we encountered there was welcoming and kind, from check-in to check-out. We walked across the road to the Riverside Inn where we got a delicious breakfast in mere minutes. (It is possible to drive over and park in the large parking area next to the Riverside also.) This hotel isn't the Hampton Inn (which was full), but I couldn't find a complaint about it. The price was fair and significantly less than the Hampton.
