Courtyard Poughkeepsie

I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard when I was visiting the Dutchess County Fair. The location is very convenient tight off Route 9 and we were able to travel very quickly to the fair. What location was perfect to get to all the shopping, small museums and restaurants. What I especially like about the hotel was the bed. I got an excellent night’s sleep. The bed in the room had one of the softest and firmest mattresses. The room was also spacious and nicely decorated. I will stay here again.

This was a nice place to stay for 3 people--Mom and Dad on the kingsize bed and adult daughter on the sofa bed. We got a first floor room facing the courtyard, which was nice. We had a little table and 2 chairs and grass we could put our feet in, plus there is more seating in the middle of the courtyard for larger groups. (Do know it can get noisy when others are enjoying the space.) We were disappointed there was no complimentary breakfast, but you can buy cooked breakfast at their little cafe. We never did that. We instead ate at nearby Sugar and Spice, the Dutchess Diner and the Palace Diner, all excellent. The hotel also does not have a pool. They do not allow dogs--yay, that's a good thing! No incessant barking this trip. Beds and pillows were very comfy. The room refrigerator is one of those tiny fridges with no freezer. Our shower door would not stay closed, which was annoying. (I reported this upon checkout along with a few other minor repairs needed, but the clerk did not write anything down. Not confident the work will get done.) We spent most of our time in Hyde Park, but this hotel was MUCH better and cleaner than anything Hyde Park has to offer, not counting the new fancy CIA hotel.

Very nice clean and modern/new Courtyard. Beds, bathrooms etc were all fairly new, comfy and clean. Convenient bar and typical courtyard food options. Solid budget choice. Only issue is that I wish we'd pay closer attention to how far it is from Vassar, which was the purpose of our visit. It's about 15-20 min drive.

We had a death in the family, so we had to make quick arrangements, and the place we stayed in the last time was booked. This one was cerainly acceptable, although the room was smaller and the general ambiance was somewhat less than at our prior choice. The sticking point for me was that the room price doesn't include breakfast. There's a Starbucks in the lobby where you can get a limited hot menu. It is totally my faut for not having read the website carefully enough, of course. But I would have made another choice if i'd been aware of that.

The room was big, clean and comfortable. The woman who checked me in made me feel welcome. She asked about my room preferences and where I had parked, then gave me a quiet room near that entrance. I appreciate the thoughtful service and would be glad to stay here again.

We stayed in a King Suite and the room was extremely clean and spacious. I believe the rooms were recently renovated because the colors were very contemporary. The main room had a sofa and chair plus desk. There was also a bar with fridge and coffee maker. The shower was one of the best showers I've ever used in a hotel. The staff was very welcoming and kind. I met Carolina in housekeeping one morning and I asked her if I could take some clean towels from the cart which was outside a room she was cleaning. ( I chose not to have my room cleaned that day) and she said "Of course, this is your home while you stay with us!" She also offered to freshen up my room. The manager of this property was also wonderful. We had to book 2 different reservations for our stay because we used points for some days. She told us we needed to exchange room keys for the nights we paid for. When I went back to the desk a few days later she had them ready! I couldn't believe she remembered. That is great service!
