It's very close to the station, just a 1-minute walk away. It's so convenient for transportation. Children are not charged for breakfast. You must stay here if you come here~

The hotel is clean, comfortable, well looked after and the service is absolutely excellent, the hotel lives up to the good name that Premier Inn has nationally.

We stayed one night as we were going to a concert at the Guildhall which is just a few minutes away. It is also next to the station, although there was no noise. We booked a premium plus room and were allocated one on the 5th floor. The whole hotel was clean and well kept, the room was well appointed. Kelly on reception was efficient and friendly and I was surprised to see her the next morning working the restaurant as well as reception. The breakfast was average (probably could have had a better one in the nearby Wetherspoon for a lot less) Only two other minor things, the a/c was a bit noisy and erratic! The other is common to all premiere inns and that is poor quality toilet paper and no toilet brush!

The room itself was great apart from a vent that kept banging. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot and had great pressure. However, the housekeeping mixed up the dates of my departure and came into my room asking me to check out, when I informed her my check out was the following day she just turned around and left without apologising. I took the trip as a solo woman and it was very intimidating and it made me feel annoyed and vulnerable so I couldn’t stay here again which is a shame because the location is great.

The hotel was fine overall and in an amazing location, very near the Portsmouth & Southsea Station, the Guildhall( where we saw a gig) and main shops. There were a few downsides: Unpleasant smells in the room and bathroom. We had a double room but there was only one bedside table and only one plug near only one side of the bed. I asked about WIFI at reception but was told that it was only available to Premier Plus. I have not experienced this at Premiet Inn before and it wasn't apparent when we booked. We found however that we could get free wifi when checking our wifi network. Bed really comfortable and the special offer dinner and breakfast was good value.

This was really a bed for the night as we were going to a concert at the Guildhall. In this respect the location was really good, with great and easy access to local restaurants and to the Guildhall both of which were just a short walk away. The staff were really helpful and were the most positive aspect of our stay. Our real problem came as a result of the general grubbiness of the hotel. There were sweat stains on the headboard of the bed and there was a stain on the bathroom wall the origin of which I can't even begin to imagine - it looked like blood, chocolate or worse! There was only 1 bath towel for two of us ; also only 1 hand towel. The carpet was fairly grubby - my wife wouldn't walk on it in her bare feet. We are not fussy people but, considering the cost per night, I expected much better. I wouldn't stay there again unless it was absolutely the last option. None of this was down to the staff who I felt all did really well in difficult surroundings.

We stayed in a Plus room which was quiet despite the hotel’s busy location. Usual good standard of comfort for a Premier Inn but it was overall a little tired looking and the public areas could have been cleaner. You enter the hotel by lift as the reception is on first floor. One lift was faulty so you didn’t need to scan your card for access, thereby allowing anyone from outside to go straight to the bedroom floors, which was slightly concerning. The young guy (Harry?) who booked us in was very helpful but the other staff seemed a bit disinterested. We wouldn’t rule out another stay as it’s in a convenient location but not our favourite PI.
