Was good location, walking distance from Porto center with rooftop bar and wonderful view.
Had good facilities (limited gym but could get hotel-arranged bikes) and the breakfast was very good.

The hotel had great service, including hotel information at the front desk! The breakfast area overlooks the city of Porto and has a great view. This is not limited to this hotel in Portugal, but there are no slippers or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring your own. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay in an upgraded room.

No words.... Has been a trip INSIDE a subway construction area .... And I am not kidding unfortunately. I have reserved a single room kind bed. At beginning the reception assigned me one room at 4th floor exactly in front of jackhammer operators, which made the same noises as in war scenario with 2 beds.
Then after my immediate big complain reception have assigned me another room, #209. Different scenario : that was in front of a concrete grinding crane arrives from 8pm in the morning until 10pm in the evening. at 7am the noises of the vehicles began with the relative movement alarm and in the evening after 10pm the workers who hammer gradually finished at 1am in the night. all i have timed videos to prove my experience. I asked several times to assign me a room ON OTHER SIDE (that are outside the ”war operation area”) but answer was always _ ”SORRY SIR, THE ROOM ON BACKSIDE ARE FULL AND WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE AVAILABLE” .
Today at check out I have asked a discount, as feedback the receptionist charged me 20EUR more for 2 peer juices I have got from minibar......
I do not know how to describe this experience, I have been many times in Intercontinental and I have been always satisfied.... BESIDE THIS LAST TRIP THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING I WANT TO FORGET
Travellers' take extreme care going there !! At least until the subway works under room balcony are finished !!! Can not upload pictures the website tell me ”unable to lad” but I can sent ll of them separately

There is a big mall next to the hotel. There is a restaurant on the first floor. There is no Chinese food. There is an Auchan supermarket, which is huge! The hotel facilities are very good. Because we rented a car, we don’t know much about public transportation!

The pillow was uncomfortable, and I got a stiff neck after sleeping for one night. The room was pretty good, and the facilities were complete. The downside was that the shower pipe was leaking. Although it didn't affect the shower, it always felt a bit awkward. The hotel's courtyard was very stylishly designed. Although it was winter, sitting in the courtyard and having a drink was still very enjoyable. The hotel service was good, and the front desk was very enthusiastic!

Good location, walking distant to a lot of attractions. Room is a bit small but decent. The handwash and shower gel are very nice with honey smell.
We made the mistake of walking from Sao Bento station (Google said only 8 minutes walk) it is all the way uphill. If you have big luggage, I would not recommend.

Facilities: Very new, big room, complete toiletries, good brands...
Service: All services are very good, from the front desk to the doorman, to breakfast, all are very good, except for a beautiful lady in blue clothes who is a little arrogant at breakfast, everything else is very good...
Environment: The hotel environment is very good, and the location is convenient in the city center...

It's an excellent accommodation, well located and extremely clean, the staff are very polite and very friendly, the room is a little small, the acoustics aren't good either, you can hear everything that's going on on the floor, and also on the street, like It is close to the Metro station, the noise from the Metro is a bit annoying but other than that it was very good. The best part is the breakfast with good options.
Its unique and distinctive Restaurant offers an authentic Mediterranean experience in a trendy and relaxed setting. The Cocktail Bar and Terrace is anchored by a ceiling edge feature, where bottles proudly perch. It offers a boutique lounge exuding quiet refinement and sophistication, where guests indulge the classic flavors and experimental twists. The Hotel is the ideal venue for events, including versatile meeting rooms with varying dimensions, access to an extensive terrace, all with natural light. A fully equipped Gym with state of the art equipment complements our offer. RNET 10889

This is my second times to be here in Porto I know this hotel is new this year and everything seems very perfect for me, the environment, the service from the reception, the attitude for from all the colleges as it belongs to Marriott group I can confirm the hotel level is satisfactory to the group, but the most critical point for me is the water flow from the tap in the washing basin and also the showerhead. It’s extremely slow and nearly to 0 I had a really bad experience when I took a shower, and also when I would like to wash something from the washing basin I feel a pity for it I hope next time the hotel can improve it otherwise, I will not take my 3rd time here

GGuest UserThe room is spacious and newly renovated with an artistic atmosphere. The sofa bed is much more comfortable than in ordinary hotels. The location is super good. The breakfast provided by the gold card is quite exquisite. I highly recommend it.
AAnonymous UserThe location is right in the center so everything can be reached in a short while, and the rooms were immaculate, without a spec of dust in sight. I only removed a point from the amenities because the elevator for the even floors was broken, and while it was barely an inconvenience for me I felt a bit bad for the staff for having to let me go up. Also, be sure to bring your own lock for your drawer.
GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.
GGuest UserOur family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it would’ve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.
MMaggieKieuSuper nice and cozy room, however its supposed to run as Airbnb not a Hotel, you wont get cleaning services during your stay, water for the first day even and the communication to access on checkin is troublesome-like airbnb.
- Checkin/out: They didnt send the checkin information in advance, and expecting you to write them an email to get it (when you dont expect to do so for a hotel-services) - same on checkout. Hope they received the email I sent via trip.com
- Room type: The room isn’t the same as in the room photo when you booked, its another one. The one we stayed has no sofa and balcony.
- No water even on the first day, cook yourself by using the kettle or drink from tap (which not recommended in portugal)
- Cleaning: The room is clean and niche, but dont expect any cleaning services during the whole stay.
- Noise from the street: mostly day and night as its in very central walking street.
HHardkeMy one night stay at the BessaHotel in Porto was very pleasant. The room was stylish, clean and modern, providing a comfortable environment. The experience at the pool was positive, especially as it had been raining all day, despite the disorganization caused by the constant occupation of the sun loungers by other guests who left without collecting their towels and occupying them uselessly. The central location, close to the Bulhão Metro, facilitated access to various points in the city. Quick service and without much bureaucracy. Would go back!! :)
GGuest UserClean and safe hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lighting in the bathroom was too dark - difficult to shave and hard to shower. Room had no overhead light and was also dark. Our room faced the street which was fairly busy and noisy. Had to keep curtains closed during the day for privacy because clients at the hotel across the street could see into our room. Breakfast was way too expensive for what was offered. Very little choice - jam options poor, coffee poor. Only the sliced cheese was tasty.
XXINYINGHotel location is on the riverside, not far from some famous attractions, the booking is very smooth in Ctrip, the hotel front desk service staff is very good, the hotel facilities are also good, the bathroom is very clean and very large, that is, the bedroom area is a bit small, Room WiFi speed is too slow
AAnonymous UserThe whole city is relatively old, and the modern hotel is more prominent. It is relatively close to the train station, and it takes 12 minutes to walk. There are not many restaurants around, and there is a pizzeria next to it that tastes good. Overall, Portugal has the lowest consumption in Western Europe.
EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks.
First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked.
One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature.
On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay.
In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
