I traveled here in August '21 to stay near my sister, who was on hospice with terminal cancer. I needed a place close to her house and the options were limited and dingy. After calling several of the nearby hotel/motels and dealing with cold, rude hotel staff, I spoke to Troy at Aladdin Inn and Suites. He was the most accommodating, nicest person. I was in a fragile state because of the reason for my trip, and his congeniality made me want to stay there immediately. I still had doubts, as this part of Portland has some pretty dingy dive hotels. And from the outside, this place wasn't looking to be any better. But the rooms were clean and comfortable. As a frequent traveler for work, I usually stay in the pricier and generally standardly nicer international chain hotels. I absolutely cannot stand stinky rooms or dirty linens. But even in these chains, sometimes rooms will smell like the air freshener they use to cover the underlying odors. My room had none of this. Just crisp clean sheets, zero smell, and they were quiet and cozy. And the internet was reliable and fast. I paid for a week, but only stayed 4 nights, after which I moved in with my sister to be with her through her end. I was promptly refunded for my unused nights and wished well. I want to thank Troy and the staff for being so lovely and accommodating, and cannot recommend this hotel enough.
