Home2 Suites by Hilton Savannah I95 North

We went to this Home2 because of the hurricane evacuation. What really shocks me was how EXPENSIVE the hotel was for this specific storm week....that's a really nasty thing to do to people that are homeless because of a storm. I paid for AARP late checkout and they did not honor it. I texted the hotel on the app and no one got back to me. Overall, it's a new place but way too much money. The outlets are in Pooler (just a few miles away) so I would look there to save money and have things to do around the hotel. I would not return to this hotel.

We reserved a one bedroom suite MONTHS in advance. We arrived 30 mins after check in time. 3:30pm We were told they did not have a One Bedroom suite. When asked why we were not called about this issue, the answer was “Well, things happen.” No discount on room. They charged us $10 more for the tiny room they gave us than what I would pay if I changed the reservation from the parking lot! The freezer was filthy! Cannot even use it! I would strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to just keep driving. I now understand why the parking lot was empty!! Also, just got confirmation that they overbooked and gave our room away AFTER we checked in!! KEEP DRIVING!!!

A new building but furnishings and bed seemed older. The bed had springs that were felt and made for tremendous discomfort; the room AC was very noisy; and the breakfast and coffee were tasteless. I was very disappointed and will no longer stay at this brand of Hilton. I travel for business and pleasure and thought I’d try Home 2 Suites. Not a comfortable stay at all. Won’t return.

This new Hilton property is convenient to I-95 and it's new...so it has a lot going for it....but my review will break down my impressions from two view points...the hotel itself and the staff/management of it. The hotel itself is modern. It has a nice colorful lobby and comfy chairs...there is a nice terrace/patio outside to enjoy the outdoors. There are 4 EV charging stations, which I loved. Our room was big, clean and spacious. The gym was adequate and they had Brita filtered water dispensers for guests. My personal experience with the way the hotel is run was not great. The first thing is when we walked into the lobby, they had FOX News on the main TV. C'mon..They are broadcasting a politically charged station for EVERY guest to experience?? A TV station that paid over $787 million for acknowledging that they were guilty of defamation and lies regarding the 2020 election. Try local news or HGTV, Animal planet or the Food Network. I had requested on the Hilton app to have my room ready for 3pm (check in time starts at 3pm). As I arrived at the hotel at 4:20pm, I had noticed that my digital key was still not ready. I walked to the counter and the lady said the room is still not ready. They gave me another one, which is not what I wanted.... To me, this whole experience was poorly managed.

The hotel was very clean. Front desk people were pleasant and very helpful. No advance reservation and no problem. Decent weight room for my workout. Comfortable beds. Great blackout blinds to make room dark. I’d stay here again. Only tip to the hotel: The breakfast food choices could stand to be expanded. Add more healthy choices (and sugar added yogurt doesn’t count).

We chose this location during our commute home as it had an efficiency apartment that allowed our college kids to sleep in living room (sleeper sofa) and us in separate bedroom. The king bed was very comfy. The windows in both room has darkout blinds in a track to keep room dark. It had rolldown sheers for daytime privacy/light. Each room had separate wall thermostat. Large spacious bathroom. Pocket doors on both ends allowed easy access, but tricky to close. The in-room kitchen had everything you needed for an extended stay (cooktop/pans were available upon request) . Even had soap, sponge, and dishwasher soap for washing dishes (included in room). Nice pool area with hanging lights as well as sitting area in lobby as well as outside of hotel entrance. Breakfast was filling and was open til 10am: MYO waffles with specialty toppings, oatmeal with toppings, cold cereal, lactose-free milk, yogurt dispenser with toppings, toast station, boiled eggs, and protein section (spicy egg/sausage bowls, cheese omelets, or variety of breakfast sandwiches - all preheated). Coffee in lobby is really good which was a pleasant surprise. Would stay here again as it feels new and safe area! 11am check out was nice for tired travelers!
